Always loved gw skill system and class system. I made crazy pvp builds and could roll on hordes of plebs who used meta shit. There was this build which i used for farming and i swear to jesus if i had one more skillslot i would be able to solo all endgame content. So many combinations so many possibilites to beat game. It's rare in these days indeed. In fact non existant.

I never played Factions or GWEN. I'm 99% my old account is either gone or suspended somehow.

Is it worth trying to find a collection and start all over again?

Everything was going good until 2 came out and killed the whole series.

They made a sequel that stripped away much of the challenge. Before the sequel, they made AI followers you could gear that killed a lot of partying up while also giving you something better than the AI partymates you ideally got away from using since they're uncoordinated. Monks went from being high demand to no demand and a dead character short of you proving yourself the exception if you even get a chance with a group.

Multiclassing is gone in GW2. Partying up being mandatory for the world is gone. Everything feels empty and the sequel ramps you up in power only to dump you into one of the most cyclical grinding processes I think I've ever seen in any MMO- and I've been no-lifing MMO's since shortly after EQ1's launch.

I vaguely remember that I played it right after playing wow for a bit and I didn't like it because everything felt instanced and it wasn't just an open world to run around in like wow. It seemed very limited and my class combo was shit. So I got to max level, did a few things then went back to wow.

Hall Of Heroes and Underworld were far more challenging than anything in GW2. Earning the gods' favor through winning international PvP that filters out shitters before going into the matches themselves was the coolest shit.

HoT was better than PoF because it was actually slightly difficult and you had to team up with people to do challenges

My first character I ever rolled was Warrior/Mesmer partially because I had no idea what the fuck I was doing and because I had a big dick boner for debuffing. People laughed at my class until I got illusionary weapon and made a build focused on acquiring and sustaining the highest number of attacks per second I could then would walk straight up to other warriors and shred them the fuck down.

One of my favorite mesmer builds I built specifically for Fort Aspenwood revolved around diversion spam. Mantra of recovery elite for reduced cooldowns, arcane echo'd diversion, and energy management skills. I was shutting bitches down left and right, one monk said I shut his entire bar down at one point.

Also had an elementalist rage at me in Alliance Battles because I kept power blocking him.

Have had assassins rage at me in random arena because I kept blinding them with signet of midnight.

Being a mesmer was truly an amazing experience and I'm sad there will never be anything like it again.

2 is Ironically better now than it was at launch. It's fine as a tool about MMO but there's none of the depth 1 had. 1 is essentially a moving game of MTG while 2 is a mediocre action game/3rd person shooter.
