this thread is shit just like metroid fusion

Italicized text.
Chromatic Abberation.
Energy and Missile HUD elements put on opposite corners of the screen.
A corner of the screen dominated by a map/radar.
Overblown HUD animations when taking damage or picking things up.
Redundant missile count popup over Samus's head when she switches to missiles.

Obnoxious, yet somehow useless mini map in the lower-right corner. Objective on the upper-right. Icon of all of the equipped items below the energy indicator, Samus's name above it just in case you forgot who you're playing as. Samus's inner monologue/dialogue from some auxiliary character as subtitles on the bottom. Some useless information such as ambient temperature in the lower-left that's slightly higher in Norfair and very high in lava/acid, just in case you couldn't figure out why you're taking damage in them.

This user speaks the truth.

By playing zero mission

Just put the game's map on a menu oyr on the corner of the screen like later games.
Lack of an ingame map is the only part that really makes playing it a pain in the ass.

Metroid 2 was smaller and less confusing so that could be played wkthout a map.

How about a big glowing arrow that points in the direction you're supposed to go?

Just drive a car with google maps at that point
why even play games

Give it to Monolith Soft, they'll figure something out.

Too oldschool, like a 90s arcade beatemup. Needs one of those "breadcrumb" guides that give you an exact, optimal path to follow.

Didn't Capcom or SEGA or whoever copyright "big arrow pointing at the objective" so nobody else could use it?

Modern gamers just want to get to the end of the game so they see "YOU WIN" flash on the screen and get the minute dopamine rush they crave. We should accommodate them because when has catering to the lowest common denominator ever backfired?

This. Also the game must be under 10 hours to 100%, I'm a working man so I don't have time to waste 11 hours playing the game

Gotta remove that Energy display. Make it part of the sprite, with animations for "Weak" and "Near Death".

This dude has a whole page about it

That was Sega with Crazy Taxi.

Make use of a 16:9 space by putting all the stats and indicators in a sidebar.

Fuck off. Metroid Fusion may not be good as a roguelike, but it's a great Metroid game and an excellent game overall. Objectively good controls, fun level design, and a really good blend of narrative and gameplay. Yeah, the computer's obnoxious at first, but it's not hard just to get over it.

got this famalam

I hope this is OC
>No markers of enemy outposts for you to reclaim

>no "semen remaining" meter

I really like X's UI. It's not like you need to see what's going on anyway since it's not an action based combat system.

Jizz all over it

I hate lifebars. I don't get why those retarded devs put them over the enemies in Control when they die in one or two hits.

You forgot the CRT filter and drop-shadow
