The series has never been on PC.
GBA games used a password system. DS used a password, along with drawing on the touchscreen, to generate monsters. Both games also allowed you to collect disk chips to assemble the disk of a monster to generate directly, along with a monster book that recorded monsters you've made so you could re-make them without re-entering the same password. Monster Rancher Switch will likely use the same method, unless it has a camera that can scan QR codes or something.

Drawing is pretty easy. Switch has a camera and an IR blaster in the joycon, as well as NFC compatibility. I would be legitimately surprised if they don't let you use amiibo to spawn monsters. Like, I'm willing to put down a $50 bet on that shit.

I should clarify, switch has a camera, and there's an IR blaster in the joycon. joycons don't have cameras in them, but they do house the nfc and ir blaster in one unit.
Yeah that's what I mean, there's tons of things they could do. I don't know how the switch NFC reader actually works but if it's capable of reading all NFC you could probably slap any nfc device on there, unless they locked the reader to only amiibo.
