They were allowed to use it on the assumption they changed it for release, which is why a lot of sprites got updated for 1.0.

naked brutality on ice sheet is also doable and fun, it just requires you to reload a couple of times.
my usual run is naked brutality ice sheet with a colonist that has no disabled jobs but has 0 on all skills, has cannibal and has burning passion on every skill, basically it turns into an RPG survival game.
Most people here play with outright cheat mods such as tilled soil, run and gun, embrasures, and combat extended. Know combat extended being a cheat mod is controversial but for how little effort it requires you get pawns able to one hit most enemies in the game with near perfect accuracy using the basic rifles.
i remember watching a playthrough where the cold was so intense the charecter could only leave for a couple seconds and raiders would drop dead before reaching the shelter, prety enterteining to watch.

Most of them would work in Zetrith's Multiplayer mod except for maybe like 30-40 of them, but it would be a good list to start from if you wanted to look into doing that and you could just cross reference the list.
Ive never really tried multiplayer other than vanilla.
I used only stable mods from the list for the most part.

When it comes down to it, it's just a bunch of unnecessary shit coded in a convoluted way that forces you to keep it if you're dissatisfied with it, because removing it will break your game in a way that is completely unrecoverable.
I found Rumor Has It combined with Rational Romance to be a much better combination.
Although I'll admit there are some features of Psychology that will be missed, like funerals.

I like it. The marine pulse rifles are awesome sounding and are pretty weak early game weapons. The queens and praetorian have a ton of health, but usually whats scary is that they attack in huge numbers. I think they are hostile to everyone and I think marines are friendly to the human faction by default.
I havent tried out the turrets or many turrets in general, but I usually try and avoid them cause they are usually op in games or suicidal chaotic death machines that launch huge explosions at everything.
Rice discovered an ancient evil room and smashed a hole into the side of it trying the seek and destroy manhunting robotic ai inside.
Luckily however, they were almost all exclusively ranged ai and crumpled easily to her hand to hand combat through the limited space of the collapsed doorway.
With the last of the robots mangled pieces of dented chrome beneath her, Rice wandered over to the hibernation pod that the robots once protected.
Hoping to find another person literally anyone inside just to see another human's face again, she carefully pressed her hand against the display so that it matched the blinking unlocking lit up icons.
The mechanism slowly hissed upon and the corpse of a man covered in stale blood fell on top of rice.
Rice screamed and flew into a destructive rage and smashed every single item inside the room.

I don't have much to add but I feel like I should tell you that breaking the game isn't very easy to do in rimworld because of how the game adjusts to time and colony wealth, ontop of the fact that if you're playing randy(you should) it won't be very "balanced" anyway
just play with some crazy shit and have some fun, maybe turn up the difficulty if it's too crazy
yeah even then, you can control most of that by checking the wealth of things like a shirt you have might be shit but its worth $20,000 and makes a giant fuck raid, but if you just delete it and spawn your guy a normal shirt or something to compensate, everything will be fine. Ditto with finding expensive things and just destroying them.
Shaggy is an even worse version of randy and is 2x randys stuff scaled up.
Theres a few other heavy combat storytellers floating around as well.

for the first time i raided another faction since i'm isolated on an island and had to develop the transport pods. but i realize it's quite useless and i can't even go back. is there any point of having a world map in this game?
The word map is pretty basic, there's no much to do besides send raiding parties out or trading caravans, and they're entirely optional. More Faction Interactions can spice things up a little.
You can get your raiding party back, you'll just have them temporarily start a new settlement, sent them the materials to build transport pods from your main settlement, and then launch them home. Alternatively, you can get into a random encounter and build all that shit on the temporary map before you get ejected back to the world map.
The fact that you think it's so important is proof of how powerful it is. Logically yes, your characters should be able to move and shoot at the same time, but gameplay wise it's incredibly powerful and helpful. It's not strictly cheating, but it makes fights significantly easier so it's definitely an unbalanced mod.
enemies utilize this function as well. I'd say it's pretty strong against melee especially since the AI doesn't take advantage of this feature against your colonists but running away during a fight is much harder now, you can always adjust the aim penalty in the mod setting as well.
but run and gun together with the dual wield mod allows for some cool combos like sword and pistol or smg.

You need to break it to really start having a great time, just wait till you get to deal with raiders mounted on alpacas dual wielding grenades that instantly knock out your colonists to then be raped by aforementioned alpacas
Prison Labor is also a lot of fun, and gives you an actual reason to keep slaves around instead of just binning them in cryosleep caskets to occasionally haul out for an organ harvest
Rimworld really reaches some crazy points when fully modded.

Raiders trying to get back their loved ones from my goblin nest. A day before I went to some dwarf ruins and saw a dragon, since it was too hard to tame it, I decided to kill it and use my necromancer to raise it to help protect the goblin nest.
That's the enemy raid entering the cave and being ambushed.

One of my favorite games was the crazy scientist one. Was planning to stay with just my scientist and droids but at some point a little girl escaping from raiders came, at first I was planning to put explosives inside her and test suicide bombers but after she got beaten and raped by the raiders I decided to turn her into a nano-katana wielding cyborg and send her to the faction her raiders came from.
Funny enough, a rape victim gets a mood buff when they kill whoever raped them.
Polarisbloc is designed around someones futuristic OC so all the equipment is stupidly overpowered. Their faction by default is friendly and you're not supposed to fight or anger them. If you do fight them their equipment is so strong that the only way to kill them is to deal enough durability damage to their armor that it breaks completely and can't autoheal and resurrect them.

it's pretty big, at least. Tons of races, but not much equipment so you'd have to use other mods to compensate for that, like medieval edition, rimworld of magic, the cult mod, medieval times, expanded vanilla and shit like that. But hey, you can impregnate blood elves and it even has a patch for facial stuff as well, they also work with the kijin body replacer if you like big milkies and skimpy clothing/armor.

treat centipedes as tanks. Use explosives and line of sight and they aren't that difficult, try to take them on with guns and you'll die real fast
You have to use your imagination, or rather, you can use yiur imagination to draw out how things happen. For example someone gets shot in the lungs during a battle and he's downed and you use one of your doctors to haul ass and bring him to a hospital bed or emergency sleeping spot to operate on him.
I love fantasizing about how it could look. Maybe your doctor is his friend, he stares in disbelief about what is happening while the raid goes on and bullets are whizzing all around. He may even drop his weapon and stop whatever he's doing and scrambles to pick him up and out of the combat zone, while trying to speak to him, trying to get him to stay conscious.

pretty sure there are some turret mods that are compatible with CE, but stationary isn't what you'd want against centipedes anyway. Have two or more guys with rocket launchers pop in and out of line of sight so you can withdraw whichever pawn the pede targets first. They have the range advantage so don't try to engage them from long range.

Absolutely sick of DF. It's described as the best game ever where these epic fortress downfalls occur in an incredibly lore rich world as you watch everything unfold. Turns out the game either lags to a halt, or... lags to a halt. You literally can't die from any invasions, or problems with your fort. Literally nothing happens.
Rimworld on the other hand is DF gameplay, but actually functional. Everything I hoped DF would be.

Killboxes are a secured area and a universal solution to external threats, while well built buildings and fighter composition with gunstacking are your answer to internal raids. I only lost one unit to an external threat in my successful playthrough, everyone else died because I was learning about autocannons and aggressive fighters with rocket launchers. I still only wound up with like three dead.

You got no choice but to start out building with wood. Try to get stonecutting as soon as possible, because the longer you go with wooden walls, the more likely it is that everything is going to go up in flames.
