Give me 1 (ONE) good reason why you aren't playing directly into Konami's hands by buying the hottest new Yugioh game around, a game which has over 9000 cards which has previously been unheard of outside of those shitty simulators like ygopro. It's coming out tomorrow. I've been watching all of the Yugioh seasons again for like the 3rd or 4th time in anticipation.
GX > 5Ds > DM > Zexal 2 > Arc V > Zexal 1 You may not like it but this is what peak peformance looks like. Not watching Vrains until it finishes so I can marathon it.
I'm getting it tomorrow but I'm not sure whether to get it digital and save $5 AUD or get it physical.
Jaxson Rogers
die shill
Josiah Martin
It has links. YGO peaked at synchros.
Tyler Sullivan
Why is it that every time someone says something positive about a game some retard has to say "SHILL SHILL SHILL" Is it that hard of a concept to understand that people can like games? Or that so called "shills" wouldn't care about a shitty Ukranian fly fishing forum?
Noah Kelly
Because it's only new or even unreleased. For something positive to be said any given game has to pass the test of time.
Adam Fisher
It's a Yugioh simulator. It's Yugioh. With more cards. How bad could they fuck it up? Inb4 "muh yugi" nostalgiashitting
Isaac Perez
>basic as fuck cutscenes >no exploration like the tag force or world championship games Yikes dude
Wyatt Rodriguez
>How bad could they fuck it up? Making it an unbalanced clusterfuck without any good new mechanic, or focusing on gimmicks.
Not in the case of a fucking card game. We know what to expect from it. The best thing a new yugioh game can do is add more cards. That's literally all, maybe have access to all of the rule sets that were available in the past but that's never gonna happen. The point is, here's fuck all else you need to know about the game. It's Yugioh, there's a shit ton of cards, the newest cards are in (to a degree anyway) and you can play online. Anybody that is buying a yugioh game fucking KNOWS what they're getting
Gabriel Torres
Switch Zexal 2 and DM and your list is flawless
Camden Collins
>We'll never have an actual yugioh game that updates the cards to be on par with the releases >AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Chase Ward
And there's the nostalgiashitting. Go whine about Pendulums on reddit some more, fag
Levi Jenkins
> load up a card game > have to do a ton of non card game shit first
Chase Martinez
>Implying Konami would willingfully give up loads of money to give us that Come on user, no sane business would do that. They'd have 0 reason to release any new games.
Tyler Young
Holy shit there’s a Legacy of the Duelist sequel? Is it on Steam?
Jason Robinson
>Wanting cutscenes >Wanting the story shit from the past yugioh games No offense but what is wrong with you? Those parts were easily the worst aspects of the games. I just want to open packs, build decks and duel.
Oliver Hernandez
If the card game is all you want then play ygopro.
Parker Parker
If you want cutscenes just watch the fucking anime.
Tyler Lopez
Switch exclusive. It's more of an enhanced + complete addition than a sequel though. It's got all of the previous DLC built into it as well as thousands more cards added up to Links, as well as a handful of vrains story duels.
Josiah Nelson
Fuck, I guess I’ll just stick with the steam version then. Excellent game though, if I already had a switch I probably would have rebought it.
Sebastian Foster
>GX > 5Ds > DM > Zexal 2 > Arc V > Zexal 1 Actually based. Zexal II gets more hate than it deserves. Fuck Arc V though.
Anthony Thomas
I'd rather run a meta decking simulator. Unlock cards and play card game is all I need.
It'll probably come to steam at some point I imagine bro, but for now it is solely a Switch exclusive. To say I have been eagerly waiting to play this is an understatement, I've been literally counting the days. I'm going to sink so many fucking hours into this
Connor Hughes
i am waiting for that porn game
Nicholas Brooks
I don’t want to follow the meta though.
Robert King
it has online? if not pass
Hudson Baker
I would think so, the original did.
Jackson Parker
Yes it does.
Angel Nguyen
sounds good then, I played so much Duel Links I landed in a mental hospital (true story)
Wyatt Harris
>gachashit appeals to the mentally ill Checks out
Dominic Cox
user what the fuck
Nicholas Flores
Why did they fucking force MR4? No one wants that shit. Even Duel Links doesnt use linkshit. How the fuck am I supposed to play Quasar turbo with link bullshit? The story decks arent even modified for MR4 - you literally cant make Quasar with Yusei's deck. What a pile of wasted potential
Charles Cook
Based 'I spam the field with my 5 synchros/xyz/pendelum in 1 turn' cucks getting filtered out
Gavin Price
the fuck is a pendulum?
Isaac Lopez
It's the little thing
Isaiah Mitchell
>retardfags STILL think links hurt summon mechanics and not buffed them even harder Since you may not realize this, synchros werent even on the map for 2 gens until vrains
MR4 fucking sucks I'll stick with ygopro so thanks but no thanks
Ethan Cook
Crikey, that's almost the price of a meat pie and VB at the RSL, mate. Don't be a pooftah, get a he physicial versiin, for the cards
Andrew Martinez
I heard about this game so I checked YouTube to see what yugioh has become. Links, xyz and other bullshit dominate the meta. I left during GX when cyber end dragon was the meta. Is the new shit easy to get into or will I hate it? Part of me wants to relive the memorise and another part wants nothing to do with what yugioh has become. What do?
Sebastian Allen
>yugioh >in 2003+16 bait, the thread.
Ethan Reyes
Play old game and make a deck you never used
Evan Morris
can you date that red haired thot? i dont care otherwise
Hunter Jones
>Is the new shit easy to get into or will I hate it? Part of me wants to relive the memorise and another part wants nothing to do with what yugioh has become. What do? Well I can't tell you what you will or won't enjoy, but for me the synchro era was best but I still enjoy playing the new games without even using any xyz and pendulum summons. You can play through the original yugioh plus GX story mode too if you want to only see the older stuff and while doing so you might want to experiment with the new shit and find out you like them.
Jaxon Richardson
That's not TagForce
Logan Sanders
play actually good game, TAG FORCE
Josiah Anderson
Any YuGiOh game that isn’t strictly old-cards only so just fusion and rituals is garbage and not worth my time, enjoy meme summoning.
Grayson Kelly
You can't date anybody. Which red haired thot do you mean though? Aki bigtits?
Whatever big monster they summon to finish a duel.
Jaxon Garcia
Cope, trannies.
My tranny card is summoned thanks to the power of cope from losers who kept playing a retarded card game that kept adding new retarded shit that makes no sense. My card dilates, trannies seethe.
It turns out I'd only save $2 if I got it physical. I just used my gold points on the eShop and got it for $57 AUD.
It saves me having to leave the house tomorrow and travel an hour to the nearest JB Hi-Fi then an hour back.
Plus it's not like I need the physical cards since I play Cardfight! Vanguard
William Myers
Carly Carmine in her Dark Signer outfit is way hotter. Hell, even Carly with her glasses off is really cute.

>That feel when you're an avid anti-censorship kinda guy >That feel when you don't even buy games that change the most minor shit usually >That feel when I had no idea just how deep the censorship ran in yugioh >That feel when you find out not hundreds, but thousands of cards have been censored >That feel when you're still gonna buy it anyway because you're a slave to yugioh
Hunter Wood
Why is it that every time a shill gets exposed they have to double down and make sure that everybody understands what they are and not just fuck off and try their "art" on plebbit where it more likely works?
Hudson Anderson
>Jack willing to die for Carly >Says he loves her >She obviously loves him >Lots of emotional moments during their big duel >Next season >They're barely on screen together >Jack doesn't even acknowledge her >Carly still trying to 'fight for his affection' against the blue haired bitch and the coffee bitch despite the fact that she already won it last season Honestly the shittest writing I've ever seen.
Lincoln Diaz
>when you only play online and never have to deal with censored cards Feels good man
Ayden Diaz
Early XYZ > Synchro
Kevin Torres
I actually stopped watching at the end of the Dark Signer arc because I heard it was going to become shit in terms of the Jack + Carly romance. I don't know anything about the story beyond that apart from at some point there's a cowboy theme / area which is sort of the environment for WC2011 on DS
Ethan King
Master Rule 4
Carter Gray
As long as we agree that the snorefest that is Vrains is dead last.
Lincoln Cook
It can't be more boring, it doesn't have tournament arcs.
Elijah King
It miles better than Arc v and Zexal 1, even by being a snore fest.
Julian Miller
will I understand this game as someone who has only watched the anime up until and including battle city, and never played an actual ygo game?
Anthony Murphy
I had more fun with Arc V as a trainwreck
Liam Mitchell
better than Arc-V and Zexal 1, It might not have exciting moments but is not outright bad as the mentioned.
Joseph Perry
only thing i watch vrains for is aoi. im not even meming
Anthony Brown
There will be a learning curve. There's no way around it.
Hunter Scott
Go through the campaign in order and you will figure it out. Just use the default decks they give you so you learn various card synergies.
Jaxon Nguyen
because they just took the solid, if pretty barebones UI-wise Legacy of the Duelist and shoved MR4 into it. Even if you don't hate it as much as I do, you can't deny that it completely fucks up a lot of the story duels as a result. Pendulums never completely changed the way you play through a GX duel compared to how Links do it.
If the game had a MR3/MR4 toggle I'd buy it in a heartbeat
Jace Flores
I'll get it when I get a switch
Jonathan Rivera
I would've waited a week and got it on ebay for even less.
Bentley Bell
Konami is never going to release a game with multiple rulesets. It's far too much work. Get with the times or get left behind. MR4 is here to stay until MR5 comes along.
> tabletop sim Hahaha. Nigga we got entire video games made by the actual company that makes the game.
John Nguyen
It's $59 AUD on Ozgameshop but apparently it ships from the UK and takes 2 weeks to get here.
Liam Gomez
>most of the appeal is playing through old seasons with old story decks >force in their new rule set that doesnt mesh at all with older decks and completely fucks them This is retarded and makes this port straight up inferior to the original, for anyone just interested in the story duels anyway. Fuck
Carson Murphy
Mtgo and mtgarena. Also magic duels (RIP), that MTG tactics whatever, and Shandalar. unironically play shandalar its great.
I want to shuffle my hand into her deck, if you know what I mean
Michael Cruz
It doesnt even have all of last years cards. And the new support for old archetypes since then as been godlike and i dont wanna miss those.
So that said dlc when?
Daniel Myers
What happened to Leo and Aki, sure, but is it really Crow's fault Sherry's subplot goes nowhere and they pretty much had to dump her until the last 10 or so episodes? Or that the WRGP duels were just not entertaining? Honestly they shouldn't have co-produced Bonds Beyond Time, it's like a 40 minute "movie" with one duel and nothing happens, but they felt the need to throw it into the 5Ds plot too. They were shilling that shit hard, fucking commercials for it at the beginning of episodes and it replaced parts of the OPs/EDs.
Shandalar is great and it's good that Arena has finally picked up the slack, but digital magic was a fucking wasteland of mediocrity for way too long. Yugioh having the ability to buy a single product and getting the full experience for two decades can not be overstated.
Angel Gonzalez
>This is retarded and makes this port straight up inferior to the original, for anyone just interested in the story duels anyway. Not when the older version has over 3000 less cards it isn't.
Ethan Morales
I don't care. I stopped caring about ygo during synchro era. No reason in particular I just didn't care about pendulum and I haven't followed what came next at all. It'd be stupid to pick it up and try to play when i'm missing knowledge on a bunch of features.
Isaac Martinez
Aussie bros, does 3rd party digitals always release late on e-shop? I remember Three Houses unlocking as soon as it hit midnight but can't play this yet.
Nolan Smith
Paying $60 for a game just to buy packs in game? what the fuck is wrong with yall this is a scam
Aiden Jenkins
Are the story decks updated to reflect that?
Connor White
You're not wrong, but despite all of that being true, 5Ds is still the second best series of yugioh we've had. The second half really is rough to watch at times but there's some fucking great moments in it still which keep it above the rest.
Nothing will ever compare to the perfection that is GX though.
You know that you only buy them with currency you earn in game right? It's exactly what the world championship games did just without the shitty rpg aspect
Ethan Nelson
I'm in Adelaideand it's now 12:03am and my game hasn't unlocked. I'm just going to go to sleep.
Carson Reed
Literally nobody I've ever talked to likes having shit unlocked all from the get go. It makes the game dull and overwhelming by giving you too many choices and also objectively makes you burn out on the game faster. There's something addicting and good feeling about opening packs yourself and trying to build your deck that way.
Fair point, digital magic has always been kinda fucky in most areas. At least the game itself is enjoyable. I tried yugioh to formulate an opinion on it and its honesltu terrible.I played whatever meta deck it was at the time online and I completely kicked the guy I was versings ass, it was ridiculous . I didn't feel challenged playing at all. Magic is great as not only does it have dedicated multiplayer support its actually challenging. You don't win on the first turn unless your deck was built to do it and even then you can whiff your opener. Actually having to make tactical decisions and investing in casting stuff is great.
Huh... Has the powercreep gone so far that searching gateway is acceptable nowadays? Fuck me sign me up I love me some unga bunga six sams. I heard ancient gears got some support as well so I guess i'll see if I can make them and six sams work in this game
Ayden Scott
No, she's just waiting for her small cute boyfriend's big cute cock.
Important question. Do we know if this game will be supported for more cards and such? Or we still on the dark if this will be a complete thing and never see support?
Julian Scott
>Tzolkin >CWSD >Ignister >Scarlight >Black Rose >Ancient Fairy >Hundred Eyes >Denglong >Omega >Crimson Blader >3.5 axis What did he mean by this?
John Perez
Played a lot of yugioh. I got tired of how ridiculous the card effects got, and the insane rule set for how cards interact. You basically need to know how every card in your deck interacts with every card outside your deck during whatever the meta is. I had a really good dinos deck that even after playing it a hundred times I would forget to use an ability or how an ability interacted with another card. The shit is just tedious because the best decks have multiple interactions per turn so you need to be a complete autist. Plus the people you play against are either too stupid to know the real way their deck works because they never simmed it or they're complete assholes that act like children and take a card game way too seriously.
Now I play magic
Owen Robinson
>GX above all Good taste
Benjamin Price
I'd rather just buy the pack-in singles off ebay. Plus LOTD is so low effort that's a no bueno from me. Call me back if they make a Tag Force or something
Caleb Fisher
Her VA was involved in a sex cult so they had to write her out.
Bentley Perry
>Played all of the DS & 3DS Yugioh games >Every single one of them has this annoying thing where they miss out one or two cards from each archtype, sometimes key cards, sometimes meh cards but regardless of which it is stll annoying as shit Is this game going to do the same? In the past few games, Vilepawn Archfiend was missing. Now Vilepawn Archfiend ain't very good or anything, especially compared to the new archfiend support but that's besides the point, there's shit like this in every archtype. Koa'ki Meiru's were missing Overclock, I remember Worms having a few cards they were missing and the list just goes on. It's not exclusive to new cards either, it feels like something Konami is doing just to be cunts, so you can't make themed decks the best they can be by just taking that 1 card away from you.
Robert Nelson
There's a huge reddit post about the entire thing that suggests they were actually just shit at writing the story even before the sex cult happened.
No I mean, are the packs microtransaction kind oif pack or what? Because if they give me the option to buy them with real money thats dogshit, I paid full price for the game already
Robert Roberts
Tag Force cucks are an embarrassment. I've played the Tag Force games as well. They're low effort shit yet these niggers can't shut up about how they were 'so good and we need another one'. You're like the sonic adventure fags of the yugioh fanbase.
play ygopro. it has all the cards, even cards that aren't out yet.
Aaron Campbell
So no microtransactions? Because even having the option to spend real money is big fuck you considering I paid full price for the game already
Noah Thompson
If you give me a few hours I can make the post into an infographic and edit in lots of laughing anime girls around the edges.
Jeremiah Rogers
Name me a better series of long-running YGO games that isn't YGOPro then.
Brayden Carter
*Yami's girlfriend
Julian Reyes
tag force players only like because the game is a dating sim
Nathaniel Jackson
should i get this if idk anything about the series or how to play the card game?
Luis Thomas
Oh no, there's literally 0 microtransactions in the game. You can only buy the packs with the currency you make ingame from winning duels. I thought you were just wanting everything unlocked from the get go, which has happened in some butchered versions of the games lately (especially true for the zexal DS game) and it SUCKED because of it
Mason Reed
it probably going to be easier to understand than the design of reddit
Jaxon Allen
anybody saying they like tag force likes it because of muh dating sim and not because of the gameplay
Angel Diaz
user, it wouldn't make sense to make a full-price card game vidya and have cards be obtained from MTX.
Lincoln Martinez
except that's exactly what konami did for the original release
Asher Jones
I played the japanese version months ago and the game is fucking shit. It's not worth it if you're playing for the story since it's the same as in legacy of the duelist and some campaigns are now fucked because they force you to use the new master rule. So, you can't summon a bunch of synchros in that campaign if you decide to use the story deck.
Christian Campbell
I like Links I hate Pendulums Xyz are so-so if only due to le' R4nk era stagnation
Jackson Smith
I've been playing the Jap version too and you're overblowing the effect that the updated ruleset has on the story mode t b h
Thomas Price
Sure. Bear in mind the story decks are sub-optimal and you should learn to build decks by yourself.
Robert Rodriguez
links singlehanded saved yugioh after pendulum almost killed
i dont get the hate other than the cards are fucking blue isntead of pink/red
Kevin Clark
>Pre-ordered the game centuries ago >Didn't even get it delivered a day early Give me one good reason why this is allowed What is even the point of pre-ordering if they don't give you the game early?
Dylan Perry
im kind of retarded. is it hard learning how to make good or fun decks?
Michael Ortiz
>Anzu >With Yugi user she's getting the BBC in NYC, that's canon.
Dylan Sanders
Why not just give us the option to pick the ruleset for the first 5 campaigns? Shit's fucking retarded
You're just better off playing the original game, pirate the switch version solely for the vrains campaign and then play online with ygopro
Andrew Kelly
Do not get into this shit dude. After you see what has happened to Yugioh, you’re just going to cringe
Camden Nelson
no they didn't dumbfuck. unless you're talking about like, duel links or something. LOTD didn't have microtransactions, it just had a bunch of DLC.
Is not NTR if there was not a relationship to begin with, Have you seen DSoD?
Owen Williams
Dunno who either of those are but that blue haired girl is clearly cringing hard at that pleb. Is she the obligatory love interest? Because there's no way any woman is getting wet for a crying male
Xyz and Synchro players butthurt by the extra deck summoning restrictions in MR4. Also that it's basically mandatory to run Links in any extra-deck centric deck.
Play a story-mode deck and you will quickly find inadequacies, so edit the deck. Remove the problem card and replace it with something that will be useful.
or just copy whatever decks there are on the internet.
She's the alternate dimension version of the obligatory love interest. She's also pretty useless despite being hyped up in the show, I don't know what people see in her other than her tits I guess.
Would've but I can't use my Switch voucher. Maybe I'll get it on sale.
Nathaniel Butler
Can anyone give a quick rundown on how XYZ/Synchro/Pendulum works to an old YGOfag that never played with those mechanics? Last game I played was Stairway to the Destined Duel on GBA, back in the day when this fucker was OP.
Syncro is a tribute summon that works like a ritual they need special cards called turner + monsters that equals the number of stars the white card needs
so you want to summon a 9star syncro you need a level 1 turner + lvl 8 monster or level 2 turner + lvl 7 monster They cna use their effects as much as they want
XYZ is a tribute summon need 2+ monsters of a certain level but it doesnt need to be turner, when they come to the field they keep the tributed monster to use as fuel to use the effect you need to use fuel so you send the card under the XYZ and use the effect
pendulum are aisp gs~ghso/~çç~hgbvou çkhjug kgg so you can~gdçgjasb geb gçashg soç becayse ~çsakgh s~iogh s~g
Owen Phillips
Slate Warrior is still based. >XYZ You take two monsters with the same level, put them on top of each other then you put the XYZ monster on top of them. The monsters under it are now called "materials", and XYZ monsters usually have effects involve detacching said materials.
>Synchro You (usually) get a Tuner monster + a monster that's not a tuner whose combined levels equal exactly the synchro monster you're trying to summon, you send them to the GY, then summon that synchro monster.
>Pendulum Pendulum monsters can either be regular monsters or spell cards, and if you use them as the latter you place them face-up on the far-right/left zones of your spell/trap zones. They have numbers on the left and right of their card text, which are known as scales and you use them for what's called Pendulum Summoning. It's where you have two pendulum monsters in your zones, and once per turn you can summon any number of monsters from your hand (or face-up extra deck) whose levels are between the scales of those two monsters. For example, if I have a monster with a 1 scale on one side, and the other side has an 8 scale, then I can pendulum summon monsters whose levels are between 2 and 7. Also if pendulum monsters were to leave the field, they would be placed face-up on your extra deck instead. They can be pendulum summoned from here too, so it's kinda like having an extra hand.
Do they have casual and ranked online matches separated? I'm willing to play if I can avoid OTK players.
Lucas Bennett
>Xyz If you control multiple monsters of the same level, you can overlay them to special summon an Xyz monster of equivalent Rank from your Extra Deck. The monsters you used to summon it are stuck under the Xyz Monster and are considered Overlay Units, which you use to activate their effects that say you have to detach Units to use it. >Synchro Level 3 monster + Level 4 monster = Level 7 Synchro monster. One of the monsters typically has to be a Tuner monster. The only thing that makes it different from any other monster is that it says "Tuner" on the card. There are effects that can make monsters Tuners, too. >Pendulum They're monsters with two text boxes. You can use the upper text box effects by putting them in your Spell/Trap Card Zones, and they're not monsters anymore when you do that. They have Scales. If you have two on the field in those zones you can Pendulum Summon from your hand any amount of monsters (up to the filling up your Monster Zones) that have a level between the two scales. So if one monster has a scale of 2 and the other has a scale of 9 you can special summon level 3-8 monsters. Also, Pendulum monsters go to the Extra Deck face-up when destroyed. >Links If you control monsters that meet the requirement of a Link monster, you can special summon the Link Monster to your field. Also, Extra Deck monsters have to be summoned to the Extra Deck Monster Zone, or to a Monster Zone you control that a Link Monster's arrows point to. Yugioh really isn't anywhere near as hard as people make it seem.
>Synchro’s You need a new type of monster called a tuner and you add up all the levels of all the monsters you are tuning to synchro summon >XYZ You need two to three monsters of the same level to overlay them on top of each other. >Pendulums Pendulums use scales that let you summon between levels labled on a fucking card also they go in a new zone called the pendulum zone. They can be summoned as normal monsters. You can Pendulum summon if you have both pendulum zones filled with pendulum monsters.
XYZ: get two level 4 monsters on the field and special summon a rank 4 monster from the extra deck (the stars don't count as levels) and slip the 2 level 4 monsters under the rank 4 monster card.
synchro: get two monsters on the field (one of them must be a tuner monster the other is not) and do basic addition.
Pendulums: one card has the number 8 under the diamond another card has the number 2, Place them in the pendulum zones and you summon every monster in your hand as long as the levels are between level 2 and 8.
Liam Collins
These guys know Here you go
Adam Collins
If it's anything like the vanilla Legacy of the Duelist then no matter whether you play ranked or unranked you'll run into people making huge OTK combos only for them to fuck it up halfway and quit after 3 minutes because there's no real penalty for leaving.
Either that or you Ash them and they ragequit.
Dominic Baker
Your reply resonates with me the most. I tried looking at yugioh tournament play, and its fucked. I have no idea what's going on but I know enough to know its gay and retarded.
Lucas Jackson
For Synchro you need tuner monsters, not different from regular monsters, it just says tuner above their effect/flavor text, and one or more regular monsters with a level (that just means no xyz monsters). You need to get the tuner monster and a number of regular monsters on the field whose combined level equals the level of the synchro monster you want to summon, so a level 3 tuner plus a level 2 non-tuner let's you summon any generic level 5 synchro. Some also require specific amounts of tuners or regular monsters, or only one particular tuner or atleast only ones belonging to a certain archetype, if so it says it on the synchro monster.
For XYZ you need any 2 or more monsters of the same level on the field, then you can stack them on top of each other and put an XYZ monster on top of that, the monsters used for the summon act as "xyz material" which is usually used in the xyz monster's effect. Again some xyz monsters may require specfic amounts or a specific archetype or just monster type like warrior i.e. Unlike Synchro you cannot exceed the amount monsters required, so you can't use 3 monsters for a xyz that only requires 2.
Pendulum is a little more complicated, it let's you put specific pendulum monsters in your spell and trap zone, formerly they had their own zone, these monsters have different effects depending on if they're in those zones or normally on the field as a regular monster. They also have numbers on the side of the cards, these numbers are their so called scales, if you have two with different scales you can summon up to five monsters from your hand or face up extra deck (which is where exclusively pendulum monsters go when they're destroyed), aslong as their level is between the two scales, so if you have a scale 3 and a scale 6 you can summon level 4 and 5 monsters.
Isaac Adams
Synchro is basically ritual summoning but with monsters and less restrictions
Benjamin Gonzalez
I’m excited for it. Me and my cousin played the card game fairly regularly but it just became a money sink. We’re both getting this one so it’ll be pretty fun for the local multiplayer if that’s there.
About my only gripe is that it forces Link rules on you and they are probably the worst gimmick added to yugioh. All the other gimmicks didn’t force you to use them, where as with Link monsters you are locked out of all the other gimmicks unless you buy their new shitty cards.
Also: >Mai is best girl >the ending to her and Joey’s arc was pitiful >Vrains is the worst shit ever >I hope to God they get back on the horse with whatever the next series is
Matthew Ramirez
>>Vrains is the worst shit ever is not worse than arcv it cant be worse than arcv
Carter Williams
Nice fake card retard.
Jordan Flores
A bunch of other people have posted the summoning mechanics, but there are a few other things you need to know first: >Both players can have their own field spell now, and if you want to activate another field spell while you already control one, you send the first one to the grave and activate the second. (This is no longer considered "destroying by game mechanic", by the way) >The player who goes first starts with 5 cards instead of 6 now >Monsters summoned from the extra deck have to be summoned to an extra monster zone, which are between both players. If your monster occupies an extra monster zone, only your opponent can use the other (under normal circumstances) >Cards cannot be moved once placed in a zone (this was technically always true, but now it is actually relevant and enforced)
Parker Baker
why do zoomers love GX so much
Jacob Davis
Cystron needlefiber is a real card in the OCG, it just hasn't appeared in the TCG
Daniel Green
That's the joke.
Jaxson Morales
whats OCG and what is TCG?
Robert Hernandez
When will Dragon Rulers come back it's not fair they're not even broken
OCG = Official Card Game = What they play in East Asia TCG = Trading Card Game = What they play everywhere else They have different banlists and cards are printed in the OCG first before coming to the TCG. They already put Tempest on the Limited list, so he's the first to break out.
Alexander Thompson
redpill me on this game I don't really give a shit about rules, I played fucking forbidden memories so I am now immune to all the bullshit I fucking hate tryhard online I just want to collect cards
Gabriel Baker
I dunno >boring characters with 0 personality (except Ghost Girl) >nothing happens during duels to keep you interested >repeating turns over and over again to save on animation >barely an overarching plot
Like, it’s hard to get across just how bad it is. You spend an entire episode summoning a monster to maybe get one attack, and that’s the show. The animation and artwork are horrendous at times, so theres not even that to get you through.
Jason Thomas
OCG also covers Korea and China.
Tyler Davis
they are not afraid of making cards with cute girls
I tried to play it recently but fuck, it just feels so damn slow.
Nathaniel Long
I feel like Yu-Gi-Oh is at its best when it just has the most ridiculous would be serious shit that ends up getting resolved by a children’s card game.
Carson Campbell
If nothing else Arc V stayed entertaining throughout, though it regularly devolved into total nonsense. Vrains has a consistent level of quality, but it's pretty boring.
Yugioh is dead to me after they murdered Arc-V to steal its budget for that stupid GEEWUN movie
Way to take the hypest anime of the mid-2010s and throw it off a fucking cliff to pander to nostalgiafags who haven't cared about the franchise since the original 4kids dub went off the air
Brandon Robinson
lmao stay mad
Tyler Taylor
>not thinking Kaiba deserved that money

I tried to watch 5Ds season 2 even with the episode guide telling me what to skip and quit because it just felt so different. What did Crow do?
Isaac Gray
>no tag force like story Nah.
William Jones
>This is your token waifu for the current series Thoughts?
Seriously, I want to know what bath salts the Arc-V writers were on after the first season
Cooper Torres
Yu-Gi-Oh stopped being good after Synchros, that’s why. Now it’s all one turn ToD solitaire decks.
Oliver Hall
Looks like Chiaki from danganronpa except way less cute and I say that as a straight male. I'd totally suck Chiaki's trap penor too.
Andrew Perez
I will never not be mad about 5Ds. It was going to be so god tier, then that voice actress got caught in a cult and they had to scrap and rewrite the entire second half practically on the fly.
Jordan Price
Fuck KONAMI.
Jacob Hernandez
>policing anticipation Why are you even here?
Gavin Walker
>I'd totally suck Chiaki's trap penor >and I say that as a straight male. user i...
Colton Gutierrez
1. Fuck Konami 2. Legacy of the Duelist is straight ass
Oh fuck off, I remember DMfags invading the Arc-V Yea Forums threads after DSoD was announced claiming how they were happy its budget was being stolen and would be going to shit, and bear in mind this was back in S1 which everyone universally agrees was good
They WANTED the show to be ruined and sadly they got their wish, all so Konami could appeal to 2003 dubfags
Tyler Taylor
I liked it more like a dating sim, and also liked more the ds animations otherwise this feels more like a mobile game
4kids absolutely stopped giving a fuck halfway through GX
Sebastian Turner
She’s just as boring as the mc, and it’s funny how hard they try and dress her up when she’s in the digital world yet she’s still just as boring.
Soul Burner is an off brand Joey who actually had a really cool design before they turned him into a geek with a pathetic reason for joining the main cast.
Ghost Girl is nice to look at and her voice actress does a solid job, but in the end she comes across as some Mai lite as well.
It’s funny how the worst anime introduced the worst gimmick
Isaac Jackson
why is it literally and unironically impossible to find all of the vrains episodes to download? why hasn't anybody bundled up each series like they have done for every other yugioh?
Carter Moore
>Give me 1 (ONE) good reason I'm out of touch. I had started playing a game on DS to learn Synchro shit, but didn't play long. That's how far behind I am. Also no game has all the cards I want in it. I just wanted to make my IRL deck but I guess that's too much to ask.
Nope, all around. ARC-V and 5Ds are top kino shows. DM is nostalgia bait but still good. People like to meme GX is good but it really isn't. And Zexal is just trash in general.
Liam Butler
>I remember DMfags invading the Arc-V Yea Forums threads after DSoD was announced claiming how they were happy its budget was being stolen I would never do that, I don't go to the general on Yea Forums, sorry that shit happened.
It is exactly like that, when they try to downplay and go for the children's game angle they fail misserably, is when they are actually serious that they shine.
I love how ridiculously over the top they get.
Camden Morales
the dude that was on every forum signature back then, fuck i miss my teen years
Daniel Edwards
Well, if you remember early on in the series, Luna has a dream about the Signer dragons and one of them looks like Power Tool Dragon without his armor, hinting that Leo was gonna be a Signer too. Nope, Crow becomes the 5th Signer despite not getting a dumb dragon until like 30 episodes after being a Signer means something and Leo has to wait until the last like 5 episodes of the show to become the 6th Signer (which messes up the name of the show; 5Ds, 5 Dragons except there's 6) Then, during the WRGP, there's this mini-arc where Akiza gets her motorcycle license then Crow busts up his arm (I think it was his arm), so she has to step up and join the team for the tournament, it's some pretty good characterization as far as Yugioh goes. Except the whole tournament gets postponed long enough for Crow to heal up and Aki literally becomes the benchwarmer of the team, accomplishing nothing because the one duel they had as a team she and Jack pretty much jobbed so Yusei could 3v1 their opponents. She may as well drop off the face of the earth for the rest of the show at this point, she gets one more duel and otherwise is just there while Yusei/Jack/Crow do everything. But mostly Yusei once the tournament ends.
Evan Rogers
and GXfags will still insist that is the best.
Henry Smith
You genuinely aren’t missing out on anything. Me and my friend are almost autistic about finishing anime we start, especially anime we watch together.
We got to the final season and finally just didn’t care and quit. I’d say it’s the first anime we’ve ever done that with. Every episode boils down to summoning half the episode, giving some exposition you genuinely don’t give a shit about, finishing the summon, attack, roll credits.
Better yet is when you have that one character who can realize how ridiculous everything is for brief moments. Every show needs it’s Honda.
Gabriel Moore
>No matter what happens in all the future Yugioh series, nothing will ever come close to being as batshit crazy as Judai dueling against the literal embodiment of Universal Entropy which is Darkness
it's kino in its own way. Plus the academy slice of life concept with plot in between is good.
Jayden Turner
Who actually owns a switch?
Adam Phillips
Every English version of Yugioh has a shit dub. Imagine desperately trying to use a dub which everybody agrees is hilariously bad as a slight against GX. Dilate tranny.
Luke Brown
>just replaying the anime story straight instead of an actual original story with the player’s oc character in the anime world ala the tag forces or World championship games.
Caleb Howard
Haha no.
Stay mad.

I still can’t get over how in DM theres this secret evil group that has been directing mankind in various directions in the shadows while using their money and businesses to achieve their goals... they also have an emblem strangely close to the Star of David.
Lincoln Rogers
>90% of people only play the original yu-gi-oh content and have no idea what the hell is going on for the others What a pointless game, they should just make an entire fleshed out game set in the yugi moto era, that would sell so much better. Imagine an actual fully 3d anime style game set on Pegasus' duel island where you have to collect star chips etc.
John Parker
or Kaiba sending cards to space, only for them to land Neptune and Judai arriving there through some dimensional magic, and proceeds to talk with an alien dolphin who becomes one of his cards that would later be part of his neo spacian deck.
>Playing a game which has a story that has all of the substance as one of the anime filler episodes >vs >Playing a game which has the story taking all of the best parts from every single series of Yugioh

People stopped caring about the anime after what happened with Arc-V's ending
Vrains has been just sort of ignored since it started airing
Anthony Richardson
I WANA BE HER
Lucas Morris
I honestly didn't even hate Crow and really disliked Leo, but even I couldn't tolerate how much of the spotlight he took away from both Leo and Aki. They set up Aki for her riding duels, she gets to do like one, and it just so happens to be one where they wanted Jesus Fudo to 3 shot the enemy, so all she could do was like 2400 points of damage and summon Stardust. IIRC she never rides again but I could be wrong, I haven't seen WRGP in a while.
It's the digimon effect, reboot a series a few times and it'll go to shit. Just do it like Dragon ball and actually expand the universe instead of rebooting.
It might be the only good thing to come out of Vrains.
Adam Collins
Hiw many different Dark Magician Girls does the game have? That'll decide if I buy it or not.
Andrew Jenkins
If it has Pendulums and Links, no buy. Even XYZ is a hard pass.
Nathan Anderson
I dunno, people were REALLY pissed off about Arc-V's ending
Like, the show's final season currently occupies all ten slots of "all-time worst episodes of any anime" on Niconico. Arc-V went from a show that was pure kino in its first season, to rocky but still pretty hype in its second, to an utter disaster in its third and final season. When Konami reallocated its budget to the DM movie, the plot completely went off the rails and they had no idea how to fix it
Blake Carter
kino in its own way doesn't mean is the best, if we're aiming for that angle ARC-V is is the best bvecause to this day we don't know what the hell were they trying to convey so it might actually be good.
the best is the best no matter where you look at it and the only deserving to be called like that are either DM, 5Ds or Zexal II.
Easton Myers
delicious flat
Easton Gutierrez
>Oldfags still whining about post Synchro >official tournaments had record turnouts in 2019 TCG's bigger than ever whether you like it or not. It certainly isn't "dead" nor "dying"
Shame that Digimon sort of hit its peak with Tamers. It was just damn near perfect and every not that followed couldn’t manage to achieve that level of quality.
02 might have been as good if they wouldn’t have cut out all the lovecraftian shit for the kiddos.
Parker Martin
>Mentally tortures you and makes you relive your memories of your burning mother >Summons her while she's screaming in agony getting roasted again That was fucked up, was it really necessary? Why did season 4 go that dark and depressing.
GX feels like Digimon Tamers. Starts happy as fuck but then gets fucked up and even at the end when everything is supposed to be happy you still feel like the characters have lost something that they can never get back. Specifically Jaden.
They only needed to drop Yuya as MC and put Yuuto instead but noooooo.
Motherfuckers had the solution right there.
Gavin Fisher
who?
Brayden Wright
Whenever you see "[franchise] is dead", it almost always translates to "I can't keep up with the times, it's different now than it was then and I don't like it". When proven wrong, they'll shift the narrative to "Ok, it's alive, but it's a hollow shell of its former self". Fire Emblem is another great example of this.
David Butler
Should have several Dark Magician Girl Apprentice Illusion Magician Magician’s Valkyrie Toon Dark Magician Girl Dark Magician Girl Dragon Knight
Brody Williams
Hang on so here's how I remember it: >Season 2 starts, Aki is riding with Yusei while he's dueling Sherry >Aki wants to learn to ride so she can understand how it feels >Gets jealous of Sherry for getting all chummy with Yusei over their mutual bike loving boner And that's around as far as I got. And you're telling me they just completely drop that subplot to sell Crow some more?
Matthew Wilson
>and it just so happens to be one where they wanted Jesus Fudo to 3 shot the enemy Fucking hell I lol'd hard but it is true, Yusei is too much of a Mary Sue for my liking. A good MC loses just the right amount. Zexal and even Arc V MC lost too much, Yusei and Yugi won too much, Judai won the right amount of times, he lost vs people he should have lost against and grew because of it. He stopped losing after that one duel against Edo I think and to be fair that was good enough.
Jayden Walker
yeah it feels like Jaden was emotionally drained in the end. Still had enough energy to put the Dragon Lockdown fag in his place tho
Daniel Anderson
Fire Emblem most definitely has parts that have changed for the worst, namely the dating sim mechanics which have superseded having actual character interactions in support convos
Ethan Foster
>Yea Forums - Anime
Angel Garcia
Crow singlehandedly ruined 2 series atleast 5Ds still had Yusei tho.
I'm baffled how he did it but he did.
Leo Jenkins
I never really got this either. We went from happy school dueling setting to "Everyone you know and love is DEAD and you're not allowed to play your card game just for fun anymore!" but I still enjoyed GX. It's too bad every season after 3D's S1 and all of GX has been trash.
Joshua Johnson
Nah, people stopped giving a fuck about Vrains is not Arc-V's vault. It's Vrains own fault for being so boring, having flat characters that never interact with each other, and make everyone aside for the MC be a glorified jobber.
Luke Diaz
Judai was so jadded by the end that only a slap on the face from Yugi himself could wake him out of that phase.
Isaac Lopez
>And you're telling me they just completely drop that subplot to sell Crow some more? Yep.
Oliver Clark
I didn’t know it comes out tomorrow. I’ll definitely be picking it up. Thanks op!
Sebastian Murphy
Are pendulum monsters as shit as it fucking sounds?
XYZ sounds unnecessarily, synchro sounds what should have always been form the start, link sounds allright but also a little unnecesary, but pendulum sounds like a Jew scam to have an unfair advantage, like if they decided that they needed to sell more cards so they put some pay to win mechanic
Owen Thompson
>ruined 2 series Oh boy, how did he ruin Arc-V? I've refused to watch any of it or Zexal since everyone says it's absolutely bad.
Dude, Sherry literally falls into a time warp and isn't seen again until the end of the series where she's suddenly evil because even though the villain was going to blow up the city she was okay with helping him if it meant he'd help her pretend her parents weren't dead. 5Ds was pretty wack once you got past the Dark Signers stuff.
Jaxson Myers
Arc-V's moral was supposed to be about learning to enjoy yourself and making sure everyone has a good time when playing games instead of taking things too seriously and playing just to piss everyone else off or grinding your opponent into the dirt
You could see this with Yuya vs. Kachidoki I, where Kachidoki was the most joyless, stubborn compfag among duelists out there, and when Yuya can't bring him around and ends up awakening Berserk Mode for the first time out of desperation, it's treated as a major loss for Yuya even though he ultimately wins the duel because his unconscious berserk side abandoned his usual ideals and just pissed Kachidoki off further instead of winning gracefully
Jordan Thomas
On YGOpro, I don't have to grind for cards.
Carson Lewis
-unfortunately /tg/ is a western board and no discussion of Yugioh is feasible there
-Yea Forums is too retarded for yugioh
Yea Forums regularily allows off-topic threads as long as it starts of vaguely vidya related.
Charles Williams
GX could have half arsed the whole fusion between Jaden and Yubel but they did it right IMO. He literally changed completely after fusing and went full depressed mode. >and even at the end when everything is supposed to be happy you still feel like the characters have lost something that they can never get back. Specifically Jaden. Felt like he grew up, but they took extra care to show that he lost his carefree childish attitude and now had to deal with the reality of being an adult and all of the responsibilities that come with that. It's hard to blame Jaden for feeling like that though, as the seasons went on duels stopped being just things for fun, he had to keep winning or his friends were literally going to die constantly, it's hard to enjoy a duel when every one of them is a high stakes battle, it drained the shit out of him.
Nicholas Garcia
There's /dng/, but that place is full of tripfags, avatarfags and discord trannies.
Jacob Ross
Change doesn't automatically mean "good". is only a convenient excuse that suits those that enjoy those specific changes in a given time, before changing their tune if changes just so happen to not suit them.
Kayden Roberts
Based
Evan Barnes
Yuya would've been fine had they not made him have to relearn his S1 lesson again for every season afterwards while treating his dueltainment as magical hypnosis that converts every enemy over to his side effortlessly
Again, chalk that up to the plot completely going off the rails. Had he kept the lessons he learned in the first season and then continued to grow as a character while still convincing his opponents realistically, it would've been great
People stopped caring about the anime with either DM, like a normal human, GX like a zoomer, or 5d's list a boomer autist. If you keep watching past that, you're either too young to be posting or a dreg to society
Dylan Murphy
Rate my wife. Her brother belongs to me too, stay mad.
Back when I first watch 5D's I thought he was cool. youtube.com/watch?v=UrUrjlFCz80 It's not until years later that I found out that everybody fucking hate his guts. Never watched Arc-V, so dunno how they handled him there.
Josiah Cook
Nah, Pendulums were fun as hell, it's Links that are the big "buy the new cards or lose" scam
The Pendulum mechanic did a lot to revitalize old decks that players already owned but you didn't need to use it either. Non-Pendulum players could easily go up against Pendulum users and win if they knew what they were doing. Using Pendulums brings a lot of potential but also carries a lot of risk because you have to minus heavily to set it up and it's easily broken
Links by their very nature cripple everything that came before them, and you NEED Link cards just to restore the functionality your deck used to have before MR4, plus Links are even easier to summon than pre-MR4 Xyz monsters since you don't even need to match Levels anymore to summon them
Samuel Russell
No because Duel Links isn't like the actual game at all really.
Kevin Nguyen
Why is Crow a card?
Jonathan Harris
No it doesn't, but it doesn't automatically mean "bad" either. People who usually trumpet "It's dead" and then have to back-peddle when outright proven wrong and that the franchise is doing better than ever, usually haven't actually looked into what the changes themselves are. They just see the surface level change of white/black cards or marriage supports and pick their camp based on that.
Charles Mitchell
He lost and was sentenced to cardification. That's what happens when you lose against the Academy in Arc-V. He un-cards himself later on though.
Brandon Gray
Seems like that would be the logical thing to do, but nope, they took out any semblance of ancient evil organizations and cults from the plot causing a massive rewrite.
Eli Foster
because its all his fault
Levi Green
Bitch I'm 28. I watched DM religiously before largely ducking out of the franchise but still occasionally reading up on GX, 5D's, and Zexal every few months, I only got back in with Arc-V because the first season was hype as fuck, then I stopped again once they derailed it
Ian Wood
Probably best to watch a couple episodes of each of the animes to get the new gimmicks. They sound super complicated but they are easy in practice. Get ready to spend an hour on your first couple of actual games just rereading cards and figuring out how the game works.
Nicholas Turner
because card mechanics after synchros is fucking retarded but can you actually believe most people still playing jewgioh have been playing/coping since dm? pathetic
William Diaz
Crow didn't ruin Arc-V, it was ruined around him
He was actually pretty fun and didn't steal the spotlight nearly as much as he did in 5D's, he helped Yuya out a couple times and that was it. Of the two 5D's vets who returned in Arc-V, Jack got far more spotlight
If anyone made S2 a pain in the ass, it was Shinji
Gavin King
kys
Andrew Morales
>Tfw I too am a 'yugioh went to shit after synchro's' boomer and I'm proud of it. Ahem. FUCK XYZ SUMMONS FUCK PENDULUMS FUCK LINKS
They're all low tier garbage compared to the perfection that is Ritual, Fusion and Syncho summoning.
Hunter Morgan
It will not take so long before the piratechads come and run the game on the switch emulator
Shinji was too damn irrelevant to actually do some damage.
Cameron Walker
Stop nostalgiafagging, there's room for most of them
Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz are the classic trifecta with Pendulum as the bow on top to tie them all together and Ritual as the sprinkles
Links are just shit
Josiah Nguyen
whats the best game to emulate to start playing Yugioh that also has a story mode
Bentley Collins
>wojak shit
>>>/2016/
Kevin Sullivan
Ritual and fusion are abysmal mechanics. The only time either has been relevant has been when they've cheated the mechanic to the point of being unrecognizable.
Ayden Reed
I don’t mind the various summoning methods, what worse is how broken the effect game has become. I’ve got a buster blader deck that basically locks the other player out of every option if I go first, and there’s several other decks that do that. It’s also so easy to cycle through your deck and get what you want that there isn’t a lot of strategy to the game any more. Just get the four cards you mean, make it so the opponent can’t summon certain cards, use monster effects, traps, or magic cards, and you win.
this image is funny because there isnt a single good syncro deck in top tier
Jeremiah Martin
Pendulum is kino, don't @ me
Parker Hill
youtube.com/watch?v=6MR8GPSTwOk Endgame Judai is literally the most powerful protagonist in the entire series. Literally try to debate me, you can't. >Has his Supreme King abilities awakened >Fused with Yubel, can't be effected by any mindcontrol trickery and can see through peoples deception >Can summon cards to affect the physical plane like a fucking psychic duelist from 5Ds >Literally has emporers blood in him >Wins vs the most powerful villain in Yugioh history >Goes on to smash Yugi at the peak of his power in the final Yeah I'm thinking he's based
Also that theme I linked is easily my favourite single piece of music in the entire yugioh franchise. 5Ds has a better overall OST but that one track eclipses everything.
Pends aren't a problem, they scream "Please punish me for overextending". They were only a problem when they made the text effects of them too strong, like any other card in the game. Pends aren't shit unless they're busted.
Thomas Butler
>Innovative as fuck way of playing >Playing with other friends and their decks was always new and refreshing >Tons of strategies that had nothing to do with the TCG >Dat soundtrack >fapping to Dark Magician Girl's panties in library mode This game was a miracle of the universe
Jace Brooks
you forgot the most important fact >he has normal hair, doesn't need to have some dumb ass looking anime hair >first name doesn't even start with a y like all of the other protags i, too, love me some jaden/judai
Dominic Wood
I forgot Vanguard was even a thing, is it still airing?
Luke Baker
Does this game have a single player mode?
Dylan Lee
Still airing and getting new sets every month in English and Japanese. The new season starts next week too. It's also a prequel so you don't need prior experience to jump right in
Zachary Hill
Yusei was able to psychologically convince his opponent to attack him and lose rather than end his turn and win via deckout. He's called Jesus Fudo for a reason, Judai can't even compare.
pendulums, synchro and ritual have been irrelevant for some time.
Fusion remains good with HEROes, rank 4 xyz refuses to die and links render synchros obsolete while being unique enough to distance itself from xyz.
Eli Morales
> I miss when a protagonist could look like this, why does ygo insist on going to tron world and beyond each show. 5D's wasn't that bad but The others
Bentley White
Yes, you can duel against most duelists spanning from the entirety of the series. I think there's something dumb like 120 characters you can go vs which is insane
Robert Smith
but he lost that duel against yugi
Xavier Davis
Holy based
Adam Bailey
Yeah. It went through a reboot last year which I personally don't care the anime for playing but it beats the hell out of late G, fuck that format
Isaiah Ortiz
>psychologically convince his opponent to attack him and lose rather than end his turn and win via deckout Joey did that before it was cool.
>he doesn't remember Blackwings were absolutely everywhere in 2010 because up until then the level of field swarming was unprecedented. They had all the dark support like Allure of Darkness and DAD, they could bring themselves out easy, the had the fucking most free tuner in the game, and they had good synchro cards to boot.
>yugi duels >i summon summoned skull >i summon dark magician

Why is he so perfect for the MC roll? Why is his deck peak MC material?
I want to link my dick to aki's anus if you catch my drift.
John Morris
How long would it take to watch all of Yu-Gi-Oh? As in every series.
Gabriel Bennett
About a month or two realistically. Obviously you can do it quicker but thats taking into consideration doing absolutely nothing else
Evan Morris
>junk synchron which revives speed warrior and now quillbolt hedgehog is summoned too >startdust startdust stardust Uh user, 3+2+2 = 7.
Jayden Nelson
If you can split Zexal into two parts, why won't you split Arc V. It should be as follows: GX > 5Ds > Arc V (first two seasons) > DM > Zexal 2 > Arc V (seasons 3 and onwards) > Zexal 1
All the things they had time to go through in Neo Domino but they couldn't give Roget a proper closure.
>Judai duels >uses a different strategy every single other duel and summons a new fusion every single other duel too >Literally has enough elemental heros to go through the entire series summoning new shit constantly Congratulations user, you fell for the blatant marketing aspect of the show Something I can appreciate about 5ds at least is although they change up what he uses to get there pretty often, Yusei has relatively consistent ace monsters all throughout the series and antagonists were used to shill new cards instead. People split Zexal into 2 parts because it's literally physically split into 2 parts
Yuma is an annoying bitchboy who can't even duel correctly and has to have backseat lessons from his alien buttbuddy.
Dominic Barnes
Ok and now more important question, dubs or subs? Is YGO like Dragon Ball where everyone watches the bad dubs or do people watch subs for it?
Landon Adams
Literally the next step in the evolution of Onix
Julian Miller
cyberdragon is the best deck ever made AND the worse deck ever made
its the DEFINITION of a glass canon with the right hand you can beat ANYTHING out there, but with the wrong one you will lose even for amateurs
Austin Turner
dubs.
Ryan Long
Only the original series has a dub bad enough to be funny You'd be doing yourself a massive disservice by watching the others dubbed, especially in the case of 5ds and GX where's GX's final season and 5Ds final arc aren't dubbed
>get rid of the abomination that is Steelix >put in CD as pure steel type two birds with one stone
Benjamin Torres
At the very least I can't recommend any dubs past 5Ds. If you're going to watch dubs of any series do it for the first 3, and keep in mind they never dubbed the last season of GX or the last arc of 5Ds. I am no sub-only homo, I'm just being genuine.
Lucas Bennett
>shitty simulators >GX above 5Ds and DM How can one post be so wrong?
Jaxson Baker
Regardless of your preference, sub is better since they didn't dub the final arc of GX and 5D's.
Jack Reyes
i actually really like how 4kids made character themes, Pegasus and Kaiba's themes are pretty good, too bad they never released the OST
Jackson Morgan
Subs for maximum GX homo love.
Alexander Campbell
>Is YGO like Dragon Ball where everyone watches the bad dubs or do people watch subs for it? How can anybody realistically think that DBZ is better subbed? Honestly, explain to me. Because I watch 99% of my anime subbed, there's very few things I prefer dubbed, but DBZ? The Jap version is like nails on a chalkboard. Especially Goku. The Japanese version has no fucking Bruce Falconer doing the music, which single handedly makes the English version superior but also the voices of basically everyone, Vegeta, Goku, Frieza, Cell, Buu, they're all leagues better in English.
The composer used to have a .zip of all the music on his website, but the link has been broken for years and I lost my copy when I had a hard drive fail.
i still have NO IDEA why americans made goku, one of the nicest characters ever made, a fucking asshole in your dub
Joshua Roberts
>Judai duels >JUST BUY THE PACKS, RETARDS. No. Watching Judai is horrible because without fail he will be shilling for some new bullshit fusion that isn't even good to get him out of the weekly predicament that puts him in the only situation where said card would be useful, and then it gets tucked away never to be seen again. There's never any interest because you already know that he'll just pull something out of his ass that might as well be on the level of Yuma outright making a new card. His deck size is almost triple digits because of how many shitty one-ofs he had to use to save him from whatever bullshit while never taking anything out. The fucker STILL ran Hero Kid even in the final season. The problem only gets worse when Neos are added.
Levi Rivera
>a Steel/Dragon Mega Ray imagine
Ayden Hernandez
>Bruce Falconer music took me one episode with kid buu raiding the underworld to realize his music doesn't really fit and isn't edited properly to fit the scene oh and the dub is EXTREMELY talktative, especially fucking Cell
Grayson Hernandez
>i want to watch the mc summon the exact same ace monster to win every match - the post yikes i can only take so much stardust dragon, shit is so dull, i'd much rather see judais deck which is admittedly triple the size of everybody elses, you're not wrong about that, but that's not a bad thing when you're an MC who is doing the lions share of the dueling.
Hunter Kelly
>has no fucking Bruce Falconer doing the music it also doesnt have this blasfemy youtube.com/watch?v=nwXtuPYqHgI >im dumb and i need you to explain to me what is going on on the SCENEEEE
>that strawman And yes it is a bad thing because there's never any tension in the duels, we all know Jaden can just bring out some new Neos to bail him out of it, never to be seen again.
Hunter Allen
Post the scene you're talking about. I have a feeling you're not even watching the version with his music. Link the youtube clip so I can confirm or deny, I've got a clip here from the Kai version which has shit tier music, that's not Bruce though. >Kai Literally nobody gives a fuck about Kai m8. The actual dub version with Bruces music is far more emotional.
Lincoln Allen
yeah you're fucking retarded and don't even know what strawman is. how is there more tension in a duel when we already know yusei is just going to summon fucking stardust dragon for the 100th time vs judai who both has lost a few duels and summons a whole slew of new monsters? are you fucking braindead you low iq tranny lmao, wtf
The English version absolutely murders the Jap one. It's not even close. youtube.com/watch?v=W3jQVOKHX-0 Way more emotion, way better voice acting, way better music.
Luis Martinez
I think you're right, the scene i'm talking about is in True Saiyan Fight Alone, it's gone from youtube but I found the Faulconer link youtube.com/watch?v=p6ujZ59h4vo Can confirm it blows the fuck out whatever previous one I listened to
Jaxon Watson
I don't know how you can stomache Gohan and Cell's voices, they don't sound natural at all. Mean while take a look at this, this is proper emotional youtube.com/watch?v=fYoFYLMvD5Y
Sebastian Anderson
Yep, I knew for sure you had the wrong one because I too couldn't find that scene with the Faulconer music on it either when I went to check. Shame because I coulda swore I only saw it again a few months ago. All of his music is so fucking good, it single handedly makes the English dub the superior version to watch. If you ain't watched the DBZ he does the music for I recommend you treat yourself by going back and watching it all, a quality OST enhances everything. youtube.com/watch?v=I4hXtcjXFjI

>you don't like jaden bringing out blatant pack sellers that get him out of his weekly fix? You must like seeing the same monster over and over That's a strawman, user. The tension part comes from us knowing what abilities are there, we all know Stardust has his destruction negation. The question becomes "how does Yusei play to get around this". Stardust can't just change his form on the fly and get a new skill like neos could. Yes, Majestic and Shooting Star exist, but 2 out of however many Neos fusions are there isn't even a comparison. In comparison, the new neos of the week can have any effect that bails him out. It's awful fight choreography when the MC can just pull out a new contact fusion and swing the duel in his favor because it has some skill that's tailor made to the situation, because they were. Funny you call anyone a low IQ tranny when you like the only show that actually has a tranny in Yubel.
Joshua Evans
I haven't watched Zexal, but do they pull the same shit with all the Utopia monsters that have been released? There's quite a few
Austin Miller
We're not talking about Zexal, we're talking about GX.
Asher Adams
I can't find the English version of that scene in your video, but I can find the Jap + English versions of the final part of the beam struggle. It's night and day, the English version has so much more emotion, and you bring up gohans voice but his scream at the end is far more impactful than the jap gohans screech. Jap version - youtube.com/watch?v=e4nEV7BmTmk Honestly falls flat, turns what is supposed to be an absolutely amazing scene dull as fuck.
Vs the masterpiece that is the English version - youtube.com/watch?v=gPJWUtFUbnk Cell actually sounds genuinely surprised that Vegeta had the balls to blast him too.
Kayden Hall
The Utopia monsters are all based around attack point manipulation and negation.
Parker Morgan
Not really, Utopia monsters are typically just used as power-ups, they even use base Utopia and the other not-quite-as-good ones a lot (besides V I guess). They use Zexal form to shit out whatever Zexal Weapon monster they need to equip to Utopia at the time, but they don't do it THAT much.
Brody Evans
Are there any good yugioh games at all besides the tag force games I played on psp? Most of them suck ass besides those.
Bentley Reed
hmmm, the english version has a nice Goku cry "MAKE THAT YOUR POWER" But I feel neutral about Gohan's scream, one is high pitched and short, the other is lower pitched and a bit longer, but the previous video I posted definitely has a better Gohan scream that the jap one here, Nozawa getting tired
Jack James
> way better voice acting, yeah specialy when gohan explain to my dumb american brain the emotion behind the scene becuase i eat too much burgers to understand
Carter Morales
>The tension part comes from us knowing what abilities are there, we all know Stardust has his destruction negation. there's literally 0 tension watching yusei duel. he does the same shit every time and don't even try to imply he doesn't, i have the episodes right on my hard drive now, i'm half way through the world duel tourny now, everything from 5Ds could not be any fresher in my head right now. if stardust dies, you know he's just going to summon it again next turn and win from that. it's like with the placedo duel, he tries to accel synchro, fails, placedo doesn't beat him, so you just know he's going to get it next turn when he tries again, you know he's going to get startdust out of meklord wisel, yusei is too mary sue to have any tension to his duels. >Yes, Majestic and Shooting Star exist, but 2 out of however many Neos fusions are there isn't even a comparison. there should have been more. nothing is more dull than watching the mc's ace win every duel. judai's ace is clearly neos, but neos has an absurd amount of forms, and if he doesn't win with neos, he wins other ways, judai has won at least 1/4 of his duels with no summon, he's won with his regular heros quite a few times, as in not even the fusioned forms of them, he has a ton of win conditions that go beyond 'durr summon ace at pivotal moment then attack'
Robert Stewart
I want to buy it but Grandia.
Liam Morales
>when 1:21 kicks in overused track but still kino as fuck, Super lacked this
Xavier Powell
that porn game based on forbiden memories is pretty fun
David Campbell
why didn't Judai bring back dark heroes? they were legit one of my favorite archetypes
Easton Martin
>Way more emotion You're fucking kidding right? Gohan talking all over his blind anger moment absolutely ruins the scene as does the Faulconer music. Not to mention the VA doesn't sound attached to the role at all.
>nothing is more dull than watching the mc's ace win every duel. I can think of one, MC pulling card out of ass to save him in the duel that's almost never seen again.
Ryder Green
i liked them too, t b h i like all of the styles judai went through, his deck has endless combos which makes him perfect for the MC role the evil heros were kino though
Lucas Davis
For dm watch the first 80 episodes in the singapore dub
Ryder Allen
>that moment when Joey gets btfo by this card in a dream
Nicholas Murphy
So wait, is Zexal II better than Zexal I? I actually really enjoyed Zexal I as it’s animation and duels were pretty nice. It also had some solid elements from DM.
>Gohan talking all over his blind anger moment absolutely ruins the scene as does the Faulconer music. Beyond shit taste. He's stunned and is coming to terms with what just happened, once he starts blaming himself then his 'blind anger' comes rather than just showing up out of nowhere like the garbage jap version. Also the Faulconer music shits on that jap shite too.
Ryder Wright
Zexal II is better I think, and I didn't hate Zexal I. It's more serious even though it starts off with almost the same wacky hijinks tier humor as the first, and Yuma is put into situations where he's forced to grow as a character.
Chase Bennett
Start with world championship 2006 and up and wait for the tag force 6 translation
Oliver Cooper
Never heard of it, what's the name friend?
Carter Green
Nice, I’m kind of excited to get to it now. Endings not too bad I assume?
Eli Ward
>Faulconer
Oh boy, I bet you're one of those faggots who doesn't even know there was a Dragon Ball before Z
I know all about DB. It's unironically hot garbage. DBZ has proven time and time again that it's the only part of the dragon ball series worth praising. DB, GT and Super are all hilariously bad. Shit villains, shit music, shit setting, they run the full gambit of shit.
I don't know what you're saying user, try speaking post-neanderthal
William Harris
>he thinks links actually slowed down ED spamming
Nicholas Thompson
>you cant special summon 40 extra deck monsters anymore Look at this man and laugh.
Nicholas Sanchez
Would love to play this on PC. oh wait, I can
Anthony Ortiz
Sure you can, they're just all Links now.
Josiah Bell
Sounds homosexual as fuck and I'm not even meming. Those Jap vocals are cringy as fuck.
I could link any Faulconer track and it would be guaranteed to be better but here's one. youtube.com/watch?v=RlwWzps5GkQ No cringy vocals, just pure perfection. I can practically hear all of the dialogue that gets spoke during this scene and it gives me goosebumps still.
>He's stunned and is coming to terms with what just happened Stunned isn't an internal monologue that kills the meaning of the scene by explaining it. Stunned is the exact opposite, hell I'll bring up the definition of the word >stunned >adjective >so shocked that one is temporarily unable to react; astonished. That's why the silence works so well. Gohan doesn't know how to react until the reality of the situation sets in. All the talking does is show how little it actually meant to Gohan in that he's treating situation the exact same way he was with the Cell Jr. only it was internal.
>showing up out of nowhere Yeah sure it comes out of nowhere. If you didn't watch the entire span of the arc.
now stop derailing this yugioh thread with your shit
Aaron Turner
>nails on a chalkboard The fuck are you on? Nozawa was by far the best db VA in her prime. The only excuse for saying that is if you only watched Kai subbed. Funi's dub had some of the worst acting of the medium. >no fucking Bruce Falconer doing the music And that's a fucking godsend, only a third of his music was any good at all and could never hope to fit like the original score or even Kai's.
Liam Garcia
But that's wrong.
Sebastian Stewart
>showing up out of nowhere like the garbage jap version. not disputing your taste but you have to be a brainlet not see this coming from a miles away
Bentley Jones
They just locked those 40 summons behind a paywall.
Henry Clark
>posts a video to demonstrate that the Jap dub is superior >literally the first second of the video is a screeching harpie recorded on a tin can lmao
Couldn't find it through searching, I know it's spoonfeeding, but help a guy out?
Lucas Torres
Shock can also mean to overwhelm, which you conveniently left out since it blows you the fuck out. >That's why the silence works so well. Gohan doesn't know how to react until the reality of the situation sets in. Nope the silence comes across as awkward and out of place. In similar situations you don't just blank out, you try to reason with yourself until you realize the shit you're saying is bullshit which is when the anger sets in. >If you didn't watch the entire span of the arc. I've watched the cell saga numerous times, that jap shit comes out of nowhere and looks awkward as fuck. >Screeching jap shit again Yikes All of the Jap voice actors were leagues worse than their English counter parts. They sound like literal nails on a chalkboard. >And that's a fucking godsend, only a third of his music was any good at all and could never hope to fit like the original score or even Kai's. You cannot link me a single bad faulconer track. I can link you basically the entirety of the Jap dbz soundtrack and it's guaranteed to be low quality shit.
the inner monologue can still happen but is not necessary to hear, the focus on facial expression and reaction is more important, think of how Shinji has a psychological break down, you don't want him to hear him talk during that. Being stunned at a beheaded friend sacrificing himself just so you could wake the fuck up, imagery of your flashback with him when he showed how much he love nature and birds, that's all you need for an impactful scene. Less is more.
Sebastian White
>internal monolog >good >EVER
i ratter have the screeching jap than internal monologue explaining the emotion behind the scene like im a retard or something
