i liked it better than 0 desu. Best substories in the entire series

Pretty much tailing missions: the game. They removed all the fun beat em up stages from Yakuza games (hospital with Kiryu, prison with Saejima, etc) and instead replaced them with endless follow the target missions. It gets even worse if you do the side cases/substories, since they shove even more in there. Dragon engine is still a putrid pile of shit, and the combat is still as shitty as ever. The story is also lacking in any of the memorable moments from the Yakuza games, and it's honestly just boring like 90% of the time. I have know idea how anyone could convince themselves that this is the best game that RGG studios has ever made, since it's definitely down there with FotNS, Yakuza 6 and Dead Souls for me.

Judgment is awesome. i.4cdn.org/wsg/1565983046388.webm

K2 is the best, but Judgement is one of the best, just below 0.

0 > Kiwami 2 > 5 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Judgement >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shit

this is unironically better than yakuza

You haven't even played it, lazy shitposter.

Tell me what I said wrong you deluded fanboy faggot? Am I wrong about most of the substories not being tailing missions? Am I wrong about most of the beat em up stages being missing? Maybe you should get Nagoshi's cock out of your mouth and actually look at the game objectively. They do make bad games from time to time you know. But go ahead, just resort to "y-you just didn't play it", just like every other fanboy faggot on here does.

Judgement was fucking kino
I hadn't enjoyed a ride that much since Witcher 3, even the English actors did a damn good job. It was nice to have a modern detective noir story since I'm a sucker for those but it was also cool to get a new combat system
Side stories were great up until the very last one, but Giant Impact had me in stitches
I hope they keep the apartment customization for the next Yakuza game because that was fun

>Tell me what I said wrong you deluded fanboy faggot

>They removed all the fun beat em up stages from Yakuza games
This is absolutely wrong, and all you're doing is bring up the tailing constantly because it's the only negative part of the game. You haven't played at all.

I'm on chapter 10, and there's literally only been one traditional beat em up stage so far, that one nightclub, and it was short as fuck. The rest is mostly tailing missions, chases sequences, dull as fuck "investigations", and single fights against bosses and their minions. Maybe you're pleased playing a Yakuza style game with so little beat em up stages, but I'm sure as fuck not. I literally just did two tailing missions back to back (one following the fire starter guy for Amane, and another following some ladie's cheating husband). I'm happy that you're able to enjoy a Yakuza style game with so little good content, but some of us have higher standards.

>complaining about optional shit

neck yourself you adhd riddled zoomer

Attached: 583795389733.jpg (1440x1440, 510K)

>us

jump off a cliff

I'm a zoomer for actually wanting to do all the side content (I'm 33)? I swear, I could have sworn the zoomer palystyle was just rushing through the story and ignoring absolutely everything else. Thanks for demanding so little from new releases, it's not wonder most games are absolute trash these days, when you gen z faggots demand so little from them.

finish the game before you say this dumb shit. most of the long battles are ear the end

>I'm 33

That's even sadder.

>and all you're doing is bring up the tailing constantly because it's the only negative part of the game.
Desu, most of the traditional gameplay in Judgment is tailing missions. You do sometimes get a QTE chase or fight sequence against a boss, but tailing really does make up a huge chunk of the play time. I can understand storyfags liking Judgment. But from a gameplay standpoint, it's definitely one of the weaker Yakza style games.

Mate there's like 3 tailing missions in the main story. If you want to shit on the side cases for doing it excessively then that's fine but that's just a lie.

Honestly Judgment is actually a better game than Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2. Why? Yakuza 6 was just a rush job made at the same time with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 2 was just a remake that cuts out all the amazing tracks, areas, still had easy combat that's only a slight improvement, and serves as just continuing to include Yakuza 0 references and characters. I much prefer Judgment just from the fact that they experimented with this game and the fact that the combat has more to it now and is actually more challenging than what we got with previous Dragon Engine games. A problem with this game not evident with other Yakuza games is that the main story is literally filled with side cases. Not side cases that are optional, side cases that are mandatory to beat the main story which just baffles me why some are included or why some are side cases and not main story missions since it has something to do with the main characters. I still love the soundtrack, loved the boss fights, and the final boss was one of the best in the Yakuza series.

That finale and final boss were pretty good this time around, although the court case was beyond retarded
Izumida does a teleports behind you nothing personnel kid and betrays his own fucking client in the middle of the courtroom which would in real life would be grounds for a mistrial

The only things that were bad for me was too many tailing missions which were boring. No karaoke and cabaret club. The latter was even worse because you could dress up a character for one story section.
I had more fun with combat though though it's a shame Yagami cannot carry weapons. Final boss was cool. The OST was nice.

I did like though with combat is police can show up if the fight lasts for too long. No other Yakuza game did this.

Are there people that really only buy Yakuza games for the main story?

>A problem with this game not evident with other Yakuza games is that the main story is literally filled with side cases. Not side cases that are optional, side cases that are mandatory to beat the main story which just baffles me
I thought this was really odd too. It slows the game down so much on second playthroughs. I guess they realized that lot of people never do substories (maybe through trophy data) and decided to make some of them mandatory. It really messes with the pacing and story flow imo.

there are like 2

FUCK TORANYAN, FUCK CANE MAN AND FUCK KENTA KASAI

Actually, he's right.

>A problem with this game not evident with other Yakuza games is that the main story is literally filled with side cases.
yakuza games have always had filler.literally since the very first one

As a longtime fan of yakuza, original on ps2, gotta say judgement was incredible. Very unique feel. The story of yakuza is usually Badass Yakuza does Badass Shit Until a Conspiracy is Revealed in Which More Badasses do Badass Shit. And thats it lol. Judgment was fucking brutally dark and serious. Its like the difference between an action manga and a crime novel

>Judgment was fucking brutally dark and serious
holy mother of cringe

Should I even bother with drone racing? It doesn't seem very fun so far.

literally the only reason to do it is if you really want the free pass for vr. its the hardest minigame rgg has ever made

fuck off

Judgment was meant to be a game that just continued with what Yakuza 6 did with Yakuza Kiwami 2 improvements, hence no weapons and especially no guns. Plus it might make more sense that a detective following the law most of the time would not be carrying weapons to raise more suspicion on himself.

Yes, Yakuza games have had filler but the point is that Judgment just had so much more filler and side cases than Yakuza did with it's substories, how these games handle filler is important. In Judgment, you have to deal with a cheating husband, the masked thieves, asked by a hobo to play VR Dice, Defend Hoshino, a couple getting a divorce, Finding out Mari's secret, Kaito's old friend, and that is way more than just two side cases being in the main story.

Compared to yakuza you dense fuck. Yakuza had literally zero violent murder. Judgment had plenty. Yakuza was basically super Yakuza just fucking shit up. Judgment was a crime and legal drama with a realistic conspiracy. Stupid bitch you dont know shit

i agree the filler is really annoying when it has no relation to the main story. The first game did filler right by actually developing the character through their chapter. Like Dates chapter with his daughter. Judgement has a couple like these but most are just pointless that could have just been moved to the job board like the rest

What's the point of fighting all these gang faggots? I'm getting sick of running into them. The encounter rate seems ridiculously high for some reason. I would have dropped it already if it weren't for stealth extracts. Does this gang shit have any pay off, or was it thrown in just to annoy?

What were the K2 improvements over 6 that got carried over to Judgment?

What about 0 or Kiwami?

what about Kiwami 1 vs Kiwami 2?

>Yakuza had literally zero violent murder.
The entire plot of basically every fucking Yakuza game revolves around violent murder you fucking idiot.

Well you get mailed those cooured ball items depending on who you beat but I have no idea what they do. They're probably synth items or something I dunno.

Judgement > Yakuza

And I play since the PS2 Yakuzas.

Attached: aiportraits_1563745998.jpg (512x512, 13K)

Yeah, I got a few of those. God I hope it just isn't for drone racing shit. I have no interest in that mode.

Judgement is pretty good overall. The story is solid, combat is fun enough and there’s a good amount of fun side content. It’s just a shame that it’s just set in Kamurocho again and they didn’t even bother to add anything to it this time.

Those balls are used for crafting extracts.

Well for starters, actually having more than one health bar. Also I probably got stuck with saying Kiwami 2 improvements because I pretty much think that after seeing how 6 and K2 are just not that great. It's more that Judgment also decides to bring stuff like the special thugs that you fight in town, but for the most part Judgment just keeps some mechanics of 6, has multiple health bars (and maybe improved AI from 6 but then again they probably didn't touch shit at all) from Kiwami 2, but ultimately is more of an original game itself with the fighting styles much more satisfying and the addition of mortal damage which can put you in a tough spot.

PC WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN?

Attached: 1562784848300.jpg (960x960, 59K)

I like the "good choices" bonus or whatever, but the game is pretty meh overall and the investigation mode thing is mostly annoying. Shitty Sega dreamcast combat

Why do consolefags never beg for PC games?

fellow pcfag here. i bought a ps4 literally just to play judgment. Still have no other games. You should join me

I just finished the game and holy fuck I hated that the final boss is a two stage “haha not done yet!” so I had to fight his second stage with no healing items. shit was frustrating as fuck so I just had to resort to tiger dropping

Because there are no AAA / AA pc exclusives with quality at this point. Total war, civilization, anno.. who cares.

Also I really would’ve liked a proper epilogue. What happens to Hamura, Higashi and the rest of the Matsugane family? What happens to Kido? Why wasn’t the chief prosecutor at the trial?

Top 3 are:
Kiwami 2
Judgment
5

Mafuyu say whys Morita isnt there you just missed it

He's right. The game isnt designed for NEETs that have 18 hour playsessions.

She said that they “relieved him” or something but I didn’t really fully understand what she meant

they arrested him for abuse of power

>Window appears telling you the point of no return for the finale
>straight up tells you “if you need to sleep” you should probably wait to finish the game

Nice touch desu

What's the purpose of Pyroxenes?

Crafting one shot extracts that do barely anything to bosses

With what fucking proof? Wasn’t Morita and Kuroiwa basically controlling the police force at that point? Also why the fuck did those cops just willingly show up with Kaito and Higashi after fighting Kuroiwa?

Did you or did you not read my post? Bc it appears you are retarded. Judgment was full of mutilated corpses and people getting their fucking wigs split. Yakuza had what, Dojima dead off screen for a second? That fat Korean agent pretended to die? Stupid bitch the Mole straight up guns people down

You only think that bc its the most recent one. The inevitable Yakuza 7 and prob 8 will have you saying the same ting if they keep up the same progress

never said it made any sense. They probably arrested Morita for what happened in the secret lab. The second thing is entirely unexplained as far as i know

ahem... ADUDEKU9UKA EVERYBODY SAY A ROUGE OF A LOVE HUMAN LAUNDERING ABLA CADABLA ATATATATATATATATATATATA LET'S GO HARUKA

stop replying for yourself

>Want to do a side mission
>Remember it might have a trailing mission
>Continue with the main story instead

Attached: 1499065578719.jpg (1200x675, 242K)

Did you miss the part where at least one person per game gets messily shot in the head on screen? How about Kanda being chopped into pieces in 3? Tachibana literally getting beaten to death on camera in 0? The massacre of that entire bar in 1?
>mutilated corpses
implied eye gouging with sunglasses on? Oh yeah fucking brutal mate

Or make another save file just in case.

Regarding second point didn't the police guys say before they were getting conflicting orders sometime before? Also in the scene before Kuroiwa was targeted by assassin who he simply shot and then rushed towards Shono. Chances are police at ADCC didn't got the news to catch Kuroiwa by then.

I really like how they had the same guy create the opening and the credit songs. more games should do that

Ok you retard, this is my last post so ima make it good and simple

THE CONTEXT OF THE DEATH IS IMPORTANT

Thats why you watch a military movie and see a dude get blown up or headshotted, its cool. Its violent its visceral, its badass. You watch a gangster movie like Casino, and thats gang violence. You watch Joe Pesci crush that dudes head and think Damn, this dudes fucking nuts. None of those are scary right? No creepy dark undertones, just violence. But if you watch a good horror movie, even just an injury is frightening. If you watch a crime movie from the police perspective, its always grisly homicides and shocking murders. If you dont understand the distinction you are a retard

>there's a tailing mission there too

Attached: yamero.jpg (720x405, 68K)

I have to agree that the fucked up eyes is the most gross thing we've seen in these games

the higashi tailing mission made me legitimately mad

Was that the one where he has a bunch of fags following him? Lol, one of them got stuck on near the back entrance of the Millenium tower, so I failed since I wasn't allowed to move up,and ran out of time.

I respectfully disagree.

This pretty much killed my 100% for me, desu.

4 is better than 5.

Nah.

Yakuza's shit writing doesn't suit a detective game. There's no fun doing actual detective work or even thinking about clues or what's happening when everything can be undone at any moment because of bullshit twists and melodrama. And of course the usual piss-poor combat is there with no improvements, they try to fix the problems by adding new problems rather than fixing the actual root problems. But who cares, idiots will buy it anyway. We're talking about a series where people are begging for a HD upgrade to Yakuza 3, a game which is widely known to be shit, but fans just have to buy the same shit again and again for some reason.

Even if you figure something out in the game you have to wait until the characters in the game figure it out before anything can happen. It's not a detective game it's a detective movie. Total shit.

I unironically get really annoyed at the thought that people on Yea Forums might be criticizing the Yakuza games. I'm here every day and keep an eye on any Yakuza thread to make sure nobody is saying anything bad about them.

based
cringe

Thankfully, Judgment isn't a Yakuza game though. I'd be fucking pissed if they brought over the shitty features from Judgment like tailing missions and drone racing into Yakuza 7.

Damn, I also thought Y6 and HnK were shitty. May avoid Judgement then

This. You don't even have to think or try to put evidence together. I was really excited to do some actual detective work but what I got was a movie that treated me like an idiot and boring as fuck tailing missions. Combat got repetitive too.

Friendly reminder that the localization changed a scene to shoehorn a feminist viewpoint.

The translator literally said he was reminded of that "10hrs in NY as a woman" video by the first person scene and wanted to make people feel just as creeped out by it.

Then he changed a scene that was originally a romcom "ugly duckling turn", where people would just gasp or mutter to themselves how beautiful a woman is, to a literal creep scene where people tell you to "smile" and engage you directly.

>twitter.com/polygon/status/1149057114687582210?lang=en

HnK has the best combat you nigger. Its just grindy as fuck.

Story was better than 0, but overall I probably liked 0 more.

If that was the translator's intent, then he failed miserably. I actually liked the npcs complimenting my Saoiri, since it made me feel like I had done a good job with her makeover (even though it's probably scripted, no matter how you make her look). Not once did I think it was "creepy" or anything soi like that.

I got spoiled about who the Mole is and don't feel like playing anymore

Attached: 1551744032122.png (1061x1574, 3.14M)

this, they should have made another yakuza instead of this celebrity shilling junk

You're both wrong

Attached: Amane.png (527x644, 669K)

Probably best story out of any yakuza games even 0, but worse at everything else and you have to go through boring couple first chapters before it starts getting to good parts.

If you like story-driven games, it's really good.

If you want more yakuza you are better off with other yakuza games unless you played them all, this game only has 1-2 good minigame.

It is the best written game they made so far.
The combat is also the best they ever made.

However it clearly is more low budget than your average Yakuza title. It is just Kamurocho and nothing else, not even interesting new places, it's literally just bureau complex and backyard.

But like I said, it shines with the combat and the writing. The first chapter is boring af but the story really kicks off at the second chapter.

It is worth a buy, but never above 30 bucks. It clearly had a lower budget than even 0 and this one was sold as a budget title.

Because indie/ low budget vydia dont have they're own E3's or someshit like that so normalfags dont know how many games they can try out.

replace how many games with what games

Sequel when? I need more epic detective dramas.

Your Song is also a great credits song. It really closes the game out well.

Attached: Judgment_20190704040346.jpg (1920x1080, 739K)

I played it for about 5 hours and now it's gathering dust. It's a Yakuza game with less to do and shittier writing. And the Dragon Engine blows.

That wasn't his client. That was a witness he wanted to talk about how AD-9 can't be related to the case

>it shines with the combat and the writing
lol

>and shittier writing
Now that's a shitpost.
