The point of it is so you don't get stabbed by any common mouth-breathing retard in casual lobbies, such as the type who just sits with a C&D for a minute. If they try to shoot you instead, you still have a chance of quickscoping them anyway, and they need to try that when you're alone, whereas the common mouth-breather will happily kill themselves backstabbing you near a sentry and 4 of your team-mates.

Scout is more map and somewhat team dependent. Your team needs to give you space and give you targets to focus down or on a good open map search those 1v1/flank opportunities.

The thing that sucks about Scout is that he is really difficult to play on most Attack/Defense maps because of how the maps are structured and the Engineers spamming sentries

yea what helped me a lot was using the "toaster" config from that tf2 site. it removes all cosmetics because honestly, they're too loud and distracting from the gameplay. also, if you want people to use a mic, you need to try to use one too. Maybe only %30 of the matches i play have another person with a mic, but in a game like tf2, you only need 2-3 people communicating to dominate a team with no communication. i do have to agree with you about medics though. I feel like i'm good at medic meta game (making calls, uber management, not dying), but holy shit, there are some bad medics out there. maybe they're f2p.

in terms of meta, the only thing is that pyro can one shot uber meds with the gas passer, so you can optionally have pyro instead of demo, but demo is still waaaaay better
you will still have 0 tour shitters and the occasional 1000 tour rage quitters. The level of skill across teammates hasnt really changed.

Map/Gamemode design and ubercharges contribute more to fighting stalemates than random crits do. If anything the defending team gets more benefit from crits because they have a better chance of predicting where the enemy will be and hitting them

Because it's entirely relying on luck rather than skill, it's literally "Hope the guy won't kill me so I can kill him", come from different location, snipers can't guard multiples entrances effectively, try to figure out which exit the sniper will come from and try to hit them while they are trying to assess the situation. If you can't win, simply don't do it, pull back and find another spot to defend, you were completely useless to your team and you'll be more likely to win if the other sniper decide to push through.

That strategy works I've done it many times. It even sometimee works if your team has no heavies and you look like a stock heavy
