damn good game, short if you are really good, but most people will take practice. Play through on normal and then go for the hardest difficulty, it was meant to be played that way. At least, that's what the devs said.

It's great. Every single fight is memorable in a good way. Story is surprisingly amazing as well.

Great art design and visuals. God-tier soundtrack. Story is simple, but engaging. Fights are fun. The main draw of the game is how it combines bullet hell with hack and slash gameplay, and the main weakness is that it isn't particularly challenging or complex at either. If you are proficient at both genres, the game won't be very difficult. But it still should be very entertaining.

Also seriously the soundtrack is amazing.

I love boss rushes, I love reaction heavy games, and games focused on speed, I beat the game, I didn't find it satisfying. A lot of people love it, but I am one of the few it would seem that saw the gameplay, thought it looked right up my alley, and then was mostly bored and unsatisfied by the entire experience, even when playing the harder difficulty (not to say the game is easy but the higher difficulty changes bosses drastically so I was hoping maybe this would lead to a more fulfilling experience). Also those forced walking sections were cancer.

user its 2 minutes between each fight and you can literally press a button to have him auto-walk.
Do you have ADHD? Can you not sit still or even just distract yourself for 2 minutes?

It's not a major issue with the game, it's just cancer. Yea Forums spergs out when AAA games have the exact same sort of segments.

One of the best bullet hell games besides touhou.

radial dodge > WASD dodge

aye there isn't much to complain about in the game even in terms of nitpicking

which is why this thread will die while bait or twitter screencaps will get hundreds of replies

Very fun game, definitely worth it's price which is often now as low as 5 dollars on sale.

He wasn't wrong, it is cancer, and that wasn't his main complaint with the game.

Once you do get good at it, it becomes less like playing a game, and more like a slide show that just requires you to press certain buttons to move to the next slide. There's very little actual thought or choice involved - games like For Honor still provide you with a wealth of options in the 1 v 1 setting, and Hotline Miami provides a very fluid experience for something that goes so fast, but Furi becomes more like "Flowchart: The Game" after a little while. I enjoyed it when I first played it, but going back to it is more of a chore than anything.

It's decent, has a lot of flaws and needs another higher difficulty mode but its a fun enough game for 10+ hours. IMO if you want a boss rush style game, Ys Origin and Felghana are without equal.

Does platform matter for this one, or is any version fine?

PS4. Load times better than PC, less lag than XBOX, 1+ extra boss than Switch version.

Is fucking great. Play it.
Only grips about the game is the walking segments (which where tolerable on the first playthrough unless you have ADHD or something, but admittedly annoying on subsequent playthroughs) and the second boss (She's not terrible, but won of more boring ones imo and its probably should of been placed as a later boss to keep interest.)

It was GOTY 2016

Are you disappointed they wont be making Furi 2 or happy that they are trying something new?

>load times better than PC
Imagine being this much of a nigger.

I don't blame someone for disliking the walking intervals but stepping out into the free world was kino.

So PS4's ideal, is switch fine though?

Glad they're going with something new instead of just immediately rehashing.

I dont mind the fact that its not Furi 2 but I do mind the fact that its some fucking turn based RPG instead of an action game.

It is fantastic if you like minimalistic games like SotC or indie games, but the gameplay is actually complex and rewarding. Also the story, characters and music was cool. I loved it.

The devs describe it as Journey meets Persona wrapped in a love story. It's meant to be more of an experience then a game. Like Gris or Pyre.

Exactly the problem, it's like they've given up on making games and are just in it for "the experience". I'd sooner take a Tetris like puzzle game or racing game set in that world than this desu.

I've heard the switch has some framerate issues during the bullet hell segments, but I can't say for certain as I don't have that version.

>We made Furi, next we had to make something different. Something that would explore another range of emotions. What do you need after Furi? You need a break. Can we make a game that feels like a break? A game that feels like a breath of fresh air. A pause in our fast paced lives.
Video game is an extremely broad term. Haven is still a video game even if it's pace and focus is on different aspects of a game.

I thought I might have heard something like that before, thanks though, I'll try ask another time see if anyone has a better answer for me.

the opening bit with the vocals and more relaxed music is honestly the best part. Anyone know what kind of music that would be?

i liked it but im just not a fan of bullet hell. it really grinds the spirit to get a boss to its last Heath just to die too its final bullet hell section.

youtube.com/watch?v=M-LMYdj-wqo
not this one? i can't remember fully which one you might mean, haven't played in a long time

>we made it a slow paced time wasting slog on purpose!
Should have seen it coming when they put unskippable walking sections in a game that you're supposed to replay at least 3 or 4 times

Attached: isleep.jpg (600x537, 38K)

furi doesn't need a sequel

Doesn't speedrun mode skip the walking segments?

dont bother arguing with brainlets who dont know what they are talking about

Speedrun mode is normal difficulty only iirc unless thats been changed since I played, you need to play furier to get the clear, hidden ending and S rank cheevos

It's sick. Play it on Furi difficulty, then Furier. After that, come back and tell us what your favorite track was.

It was excellent. Too bad the devs new game looks like some shitty Journey clone. They have a very good grasp on action games and could have made an even more ambitious game to rival the best of Japan.

I mean, isn't Sekiro basically fury 2? Only made by actual competent devs with more than a decade of experience behind their back.

You did it user, you found the secret.

Attached: 1552553776679.gif (400x400, 1.76M)

Suckiro is like Furi if it had no dodging, no positioning, hardly any attacking and no interesting boss gimmicks and was JUST about parrying.

It's fun and enjoyable, but they could've done more with it. I'd look out for it when it goes on sale.

I don't understand, user. While your dodge doesn't have the i-frame centric nature of what one would expect from the classic SoulsBorne games, it is still a valuable tool when fighting multiples, against jump attacks and thrust attacks! Besides, what do you mean with 'hardly any attacking'?

fuck the sniper bitch
most unfun boss by a lot

Nah shes like the second best beyond the edge.

LET. IT. OUT.

It's nearly perfect, honestly. In terms of a game achieving exactly what it is trying to do, I have basically zero criticisms.

Everybody larping saying it's too easy.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmCq-hFhNKo&t=9m30s

I almost agree, though this being a 3d game, considering the camera angles along with the hover and glow of the bullets, it can be hard to dodge with precision unlike a tight bullethell.

Wtf you can't embed videos to play at a certain time on here? Was supposed to skip to 9:30.

>he doesn't parry the projectiles that leave a trail in the final phase
Why do some people insist on making the game harder for themselves

Attached: 1564015540804.jpg (670x670, 156K)

Thrusts and sweeping attacks aren't dodged, they are countered, it's a parry with a different input. I guess if you really want to fight multiple enemies without abusing the mountains of bullshit in the game then positioning matters more, but it's lame how you have to go out of your way to make a game less of a flashy easy rhythm game.

>larping
When will you fags understand that not everyone who has different expectations for difficulty is "larping"? The game IS too easy, not because it doesn't give you a challenge when you first play it, but because there's not much to do after you beat it a few times, which itself only takes 20 hours or less. This even includes S ranks which let you get away with such sloppy play that I had to do

Attached: furi 100%.png (978x208, 153K)

>faux pixel art
No thanks

I fucking love this game, easily in top 3 of my alltime favorite games

Attached: 1550614659175.jpg (1300x731, 1.13M)

The new thing they're doing is dogshit.

I hated the small delay on dash. It took me a while to adjust to it.
Bosses are pure memorization. Counter this animation, dash this animation. More like rhythm game. Once you got the pattern, there's nothing else to learn, just recreate it.
Soundtrack is sick, but because the game is bad you just better to listen to it on Youtube.

Game's mediocre at best, soundtrack really good tho
m.youtube.com/watch?v=SeAAi7jWOl8

switch has easier bullet patterns, stay away

I could never beat the huge head guy even on normal mode

What huge head guy, ice cap? You're gonna have to be a little more specific.

best theme for the best character

Attached: 74864663.png (625x642, 324K)

time stop guy obviously, he's the biggest filter for people

I don't remember the name. it's just a big blue head and maybe some floating hands too

Definitely larping. The Lines last phase is complete bullshit no matter how much you play.

I really wanted to like the game, I loved like 95% of the fights but then to "finish" each section of the fight you had to do that parrying minigame or whatever? (it's been a long time since I played it) and I fucking hated that part. And then if you failed it you had to do the entire section over again for no reason, making it into a slog.

Ruined it for me. Great soundtrack though and 95% great gameplay.

I never understood this even on furier, the Line is easy peasy

It's not, use charged shots also you don't have to move around very much since you can hit all the pillars. Doing a no damage fight vs that would be a pain in the ass I guess but just beating it is no problem at all

That's the star, you gotta do it user, he's the last boss and remember, YOU made the choice to do that, finish what you've started.
