A lot of late Source games are. Black mesa is one of the best looking games out there imo. Just the right balance of realism and readability.

Maybe it's nice looking but there's too much visual garbage in the way and it's just distracting, in 1.6 you can spot enemies immediately and you don't have to pixel hunt for heads because everything looks clean and character models stand out

CSS and CS 1.6 were like the old west. all the modded and custom maps made you feel like you were entering a different dimention. Specially if you were latino/european and ended up in some sketchy ass server full of brazilians or russians talking distortedly on the mic

I still play zombie escape on CSS nearly every week. My favorite server, GFL, has an event every Saturday that usually fills the server. Shit's fun AF.
