What does Yea Forums think of this game haha "game"

>MOVIE GAAAAAAAAAAME
I'll admit it takes some time to kick off but GoW2018 is not a movie game just because it has cutscenes. Combat feels good, side content is thoroughly enjoyable, exploration is somewhat basic but good for turning your brain off and just enjoying the scenery. I wish the enemies had more variety though.

I've hated since 3 the attempts to make Kratos more sympathetic, I liked it better when he was just an asshole

you're confusing the GoW devs with the naughty dog VP

>Combat feels good
In what way does it feel good?
That was literally my least favorite thing in the whole game.
He was just as asshole and a shitty father for the entire game.
At least Uncharted 4 was fun to play.

uhhhh user, Balrog isn't any better than Cuckmann

he might be a flaming faggot but at least his game was alright

Did you ever LEARN the combat or did you just button mash? Try the valkyries - they'll force you to do combat right.

Problems: unnecessary crafting, few enemy types, disappointing bosses (worst flaw), pretty but absolutely useless map.

It's still enjoyable on the highest difficulty. It's not really a movie game.

Cargo shorts are comfortable and practical. I'd take them over a BLOOD SUCKING roastie CUNT any day.

This, though I'm a lot more forgiving of the map and I find it more than enjoyable because I'm a sucker for father-son stories in any form of media.

What's there to learn lol?
Hit once, pause WOW THE SWORDS ARE NOW BURNING. Hit hit hit SUPER HIT - WOW INSANE.

>disappointing bosses (worst flaw)
this, absolutely this
literally zero good bosses, they are all trolls with the exact same moveset

What is it about Twitter that causes people to say shit like this for everyone to see?

it just does. It feels so meaty and weighty and up-close-and-personal; every impact gives you the feeling that Kratos has this godly strength. Also there are a lot of different moves and they all flow together really nicely, especially the axe / fists ones with you throwing the axe and doing the recall attacks

The crafting/upgrading is fine, it ended up being one of the more enjoyable systems from the game. The enemy types/bosses is by biggest issue with the game next to taking 70% of the way through the game for the combat to be fun. R1pauseR1pause combos should not be locked till the fucking end of the game.

Besides fixing enemy types and bosses, I don't know what they can do to add to the combat layer to make it stand out more. The only thing I can think of is swapping weapons mid-combo continues the combo. Just a bunch of new weapon types might be good enough though.

Hello /r9k/, what’s on your mind lately?

How about parrying, reflecting projectiles, utilizing summons, arrow types, rune skills, guard breaking... user, did you only play it on the easiest difficulty?

>up-close-and-personal
bad fov
>every impact gives you the feeling that Kratos has this godly strength
ANY kind of enemies takes an hour to die
Do you actually believe one needs to learn those? Have you ever played an actual action game like DMC?

troll thread everyone go home

Of course you don't have to learn them on the easiest difficulty. Picking the easiest difficulty and then complaining that the combat is boring is like ordering chocolate mousse at a diner and then complaining it tastes like shit after you mix ketchup into it.
>every kind of enemy takes too long to die
then you suck at managing stats

>ANY kind of enemies takes an hour to die
Only if you suck and just mash weak R1 attacks because that's what Dark Souls taught you. For me, enemies feel like they are made out of paper on any difficulty below GMGOW

I tried both a strength and a cooldown builds, enemies still have too many hp for my liking

>actual action game
>DMC
DMC is just a button masher, the enemies don't even fight back

yikes.

Yeah GoW2 was a great game

>there's only one difficulty in DMC

dam that looks like shit

>buy the game the first week its out
>dont open it at all
>take it back to gamestop next day
>they asked why im returning it
>tell them that i saw the entire film on youtube and i dont need ti watch it
>angry fat pimple faced neckbeard working there crosses his arms and says "its a videogame not a movie"
>laugh it off and ask for my refund still while the bumbling stumbling fatass tries to convince me to keep it
best 60 bucks i ever spent and got back

People need to take off their nostalgia glasses. GOW didn't do anything worse than previous GOW games. You're just blinded by nostalgia.

The sad truth is that the entire GOW series is mediocre. You cry about the game making Kratos a nu-male, but he's always been a whiny, cringy edgelord who just did things because he has the mental capacity of a teenage girl, unable to not murder and scream at every turn. You say the gameplay was ruined, but I propose you to point me to any point in GOW's history that wasn't just button mashing and quick time events, while the game herded you down a corridor to handle single digit AI enemies.

Maybe it's because I don't have nostalgia for the older games, but the most I remember from them is how they would put you in gigantic cutscenes with barely any control on your end. Nu-GOW does the same thing, so why put it on a pike now?

based

You need to get better and find out which moves do the most damage. Like for the axe, it's the cleave, boomerang attack, and especially the stance-switch attacks; those can cut the enemy up like a chainsaw of 6+ normal R2 swings in one second. You can instantly take out enemies using ringouts and stun grabs too (stun enemies by knocking them into walls or eachother), and there are some somewhat-hidden moves like pinning an airborne enemy to a wall with a heavy axe throw to insta kill them. You can R1 throw the axe in an enemy's face to make them spin around, then run up to them and hold R1 to do that close-range boomerang attack into their back and the enemy will have their stun-meter filled up to 100% almost instantly. You can freeze an enemy with a heavy axe throw and then hit them into a wall and they will slide into it to lose like 3/4ths of their health bar from the "shatter" damage. Or kick them into eachother to inflict cold-slowed status

There are lots of ways to deal substantial damage in a short time with just STR, not even counting the runic attacks or insta kills. And if you get the free-Fafnir enchantment that makes your runic attacks get a blessing of runic when you do them, then they will suddenly do like 2.5x damage as well

I don't know what any of those NPC flags mean except for the gay rainbow and tranny ones, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Women seethe over cargo shorts and pants because they reveal purses as shitty and purely the result of peer pressure

Okay, user, you're right. I did use a lot of what you wrote though. I just got tired of fighting the same enemies and even bosses (literally every single boss in the game is a troll with a big wooden stick).

I see a lot of women wear pants, shorts, and even jackets that don't have any pockets. What the fuck is the practicality in that? I get it that they dont want things bulging in the pockets of tight jeans but still.

I've had a few basketball shorts without pockets or shallow ones in favor of deeper pockets, same with jeans whose pockets can't completely conceal my big smartphone. The usual test for optimal pocket size is if I can fit a Nintendo Switch in it, then I'm good to go.

They were created by the guy who did Twisted Metal Black, possibly the best PS2 exclusive ever.

or just Playstation in general come to think of it.

and then everyone slow clapped

>possibly the best PS2 exclusive ever.
It wasn't that good. And Jaffe only made GOW1, he didn't really work on GOW2 even. His idea of platforming in the first game was fucking awful, awful shit and it almost ruined the game. Platforming was horrible in GOW2 and GOW3 as well but at least they toned it down a bit

See, that's a REAL complaint

If you have a handbag with you then you don't need pockets.

Handbags are for women and queers.
And I don't think you're a woman.

I really hope you don't expect to be taken seriously if you dress like a 13-year old, do you match your cargo pants with flame hawaii-shirts?

>It wasn't that good
It's Jaffe's masterpiece. At its best it's intense as hell and the gameplay actually enhances the atmosphere unlike pleb chosen shit like Silent Hill 2.
