Off-set or symetrical joysticks?

Which type of controller do you prefer and why?
Are off-set joysticks really better for shooters?

I like off-set. Having my thumb for joysticks and buttons be in the same position feels better, though for shooters it isn't really great

Wii U Pro is the only option if you're degenerate enough to play shooters on console. Asymmetrical is the best layout overall.

And for retro games/fighting games, which do u prefer?

TRICKSTER ROYALGUARD TRICKSTER ROYALGUARD TRICKSTER SWORDMASTER GUNSLINGER TRICK SWORD TRICK SWORD TRICK SWORD
dumbass xboys can not index finger on dpad

I get that off-set is best overall, but where do you think it excels the best?

I really don't care. D-pad in the upper position feels nicer though so symmetrical I guess.

What brand is the controller on the bottom?
I hate the official DS4 and want an alternative and that one looks like a Xbox controller which I prefer.

WiiU pro is the best option
Symmetrical on the top

3d platformers and action games.

I dunno if those are still produced thou

Fighting games as well?

I'm not really into those, but most of the people I talk to that do like those tend to prefer PS controllers or arcade-style gamepads.

dunno if I have an actual preference
I played the Xbox 360 and the PS4 comfortably

but then I haven't played a lot of shooters with them

Top symmetrical sticks are actually the best for shooters, but most of you fags wouldn't know this because you never touched a Wii U.

The reason the sticks are on the bottom of the Dual Shock is because Sony didn't know how to design controllers and filled the empty space of their Super Nintendo clone controller.

The reason the Xbox has asymmetrical sticks is not because Microsoft are great designers but because they just took Sega's design (even the original fat Xbox controller was a SIX button gamepad) and stuck the second stick where there was empty space.

The Wii U gamepad and Pro controllers are actually controller kino and the pinnacle of controller design. It's just a shame that the Switch went back to asymmetrical to please low IQ normies fixed on the Xbox design and to keep the "Switch" joycon design.

>and filled the empty space of their Super Nintendo clone controller.
How is it a clone when after the release of the original psx controller everyone copies it to this day. The two prong grip and four shoulder buttons is everywhere and it's not thanks to nintendo kid.

Asymmetric sticks are better for anything that uses the stick, symmetric better for D-pad. It's that simple.

I guess that sums it up. Thanks user!

I didn't actually know that. That is good to know

Symetrical looks pleasant
If you really find yourself doing better with one pad than another because of a slightly different placement you'r probably shit

Its the hori onyx controller

The one that lets you claw for more buttons

Is it any good though? Hori is just japanese Madcatz.

Its not terrible if you're used to having non symmetrical sticks and don't want to adapt its not a bad alternative. I think theres a scuf version which has non-sym sticks as well but those are ~150$ so I'd say its the best of both

>if one pad layout fits you better than the other and thus produces more accurate inputs you're shit
flawless logic, retard
