I just beat Skyward Sword

I just beat Skyward Sword.

It's not nearly as bad as most of you niglords say it is, but it definitely has some very tedious parts and you repeat the same content too frequently.

I really disliked the silent realm shit, the tadnotes in flooded Faron, and revisiting the same 3 areas so many times.

The temples were all pretty fun to me and I really enjoyed the bosses aside from Ghirahim's bullshit where he would just seemingly grab my sword so many times even if I swung the right way.

Skyloft is also the most developed and interesting town in the Zelda franchise, next to I'd say Clocktown.

I definitely rate Skyward Sword as the worst 3D Zelda but it was not the travesty you dipshits make it out to be.

The dungeons and Skyloft are enough to make SS better than WW and TP.

If it wasn't for the gimmick controls it would be an ok 3d Zelda. Same reason why TP is better on the GC.

I'm at volcano when they take my equipments. I'm near the finish?

I forgot about the Silent Realm garbage. Worse game than I remember.

fuck waggle and fuck waggle apologists.

It's bit that is an objectively BAD game, it's just fucking obnoxious because it's filled with z-tier filler garbage content.
Also Wind Waker it's definitely more charming but still a worse game overall.

Groose is the best written side character in zelda

Quite near. Maybe a few hours more

People just don't like what Zelda is. Zoomers just want to play the open world nonsense Breath of the Wild made Zelda and spew out fucking nonsense that it is the first true Zelda to "follow in the footsteps of the original". Bullshit. Skyward Sword is more Zelda that Breath of the Wild could ever hope to be. Thankfully, we're getting a REAL Zelda with Link's Awakening in about a month.

What you missed out from not playing it back then is the hype. No one knew what to expect and all we had were Miyamoto's empty promises like the whole game being 100 hrs long. Had I know what to expect I'd have set my expectations lower, but lots of people got burnt instead.

The brass mech is the best boss with the best boss music

>Zoomers just want to play the open world nonsense Breath of the Wild made Zelda and spew out fucking nonsense that it is the first true Zelda to "follow in the footsteps of the original". Bullshit.
>Thankfully, we're getting a REAL Zelda with Link's Awakening in about a month.
I really can't tell if you're baiting or not.

But is it worthy of this score?

Attached: Shitward Sword.png (413x311, 55K)

Nah, maybe a mid 7
>t. Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game

Anyone with half a fucking brain can tell that the true successor to Zelda 1 is Link to the Past. You can fuck off if you think otherwise. Link's Awakening follows what Link to the Past put forth as Zelda and that makes it Switch's first REAL Zelda.

It has the best boss fight of all Zeldas, Demise's fight is pretty cool

I was referring to the fact that you're trying to justify a full priced shitty reskin in any way, shape, or form. I agree that BotW being in the vein of the original is total bullshit.

I 100% agree that it is total bullshit that Link's Awakening is 60 dollars. But at least actual Zelda titles are still around, and the remake is of one of the best Game Boy titles

But what about the grafix?

To me, the only truly intolerable shit in Skyward Sword is all the constant nagging handholding it does. It has to tell you what each of the rupees are worth, what all the bugs and crafting materials are, and it has to do it EVERY FUCKING TIME you reset. You basically have to either emulate or homebrew your wii and get the fan patch to cut that shit out to make the game playable.
And even then, Fi just does not. Shut. The Fuck. Up. I can't stand that shit.

Graphics of Link's Awakening?

>reskin
>of a Gameboy game
>which is on a different engine
>uses sprites
>midi music
>renders at less than 240p
>colors are limited

Oh, Skyward Sword has its problems that need to be fixed in any potential rerelease. However, at least it was brave enough to stand tall as a true Zelda game and not cuck itself into total open world bullshit to be mainstream among the zoomers.

>Open World
>for Zoomers
>being this new

>taking the statement at face value and arguing semantics instead of the actual point that it's lazy and adds nothing to the game
Poor bait.

This. I don’t mind the filler as much but I gave up on the game cause of this shit. It was when Nintendo was in peak handholding mode

>every user that replies to me is the same user
lurk more user, I'm just attacking your retarded statement.

I think Link to the Past should have been remade with Link's Awakening and THEN it would be worth 60 dollars, easy.

Only Zoomers and Boomers who want to be cool to Zoomers think that Breath of the Wild qualifies as a Zelda

>I decide what it takes to be a Zelda game
lol
You lost the moment it was announced, by the creator of Zelda and the guy that "made" the "best game ever".

>Acts like creators can't ruin their own properties
Are you actually this stupid?

>ruin
Huh? Regardless if it is good or not, they get to decide what is Zelda and what isn't.

Oh Breath of the Wild is a great game, but it is for sure a Zelda only in name. They can call it Zelda, but it has almost none of the qualities that make it a Zelda

I want a remake with the flaws in the UI ironed out a bit, maybe with more to do in skyloft as well.
Also another hard mode like Windwaker and Twilight Princess HD had but with remixed puzzles and boss fights would be awesome.

>but it has almost none of the qualities that make it a Zelda
Not up to you.

The tadnotes BS was so tedious. Why did they think that shit was a good idea?

Some of the dungeons are the better ones of any 3D Zelda. Zoomers can't hold a Wii Remote properly.

What does that have to do with anything? You tried to argue that it wasn't a reskin and I expanded on what I meant by that since it wasn't obvious enough for you.
I guess but that wouldn't fix the problem of nothing being added to LA. It's still just as bad as WWHD.

God I hate WW zoomers.

>Only Zoomers and Boomers who want to be cool to Zoomers think that Breath of the Wild qualifies as a Zelda

Just kill yourself.

Uh... yeah it kind of is. As the consumer, I get to decide whether I believe the product I got falls into line with what I was expecting and got what I wanted. I played the game 100%. It ain't a Zelda.

WWHD needed new content. but I'm happy we're still getting classic Zeldas either way and we're not doomed to Breath of the Wild Zelda for eternity.

I'm a consumer, having played it all 3 versions, my opinion weights 3 times, I say it is a Zelda game, my friends IRL also say it is a Zelda game, that would sum up to 12 opinions+the creators vs 1 of yours.

>Acts like I'm the only one saying it isn't really a Zelda.
Look around the whole internet user. Even the defenders of the title admit that it misses out on several things that have been pillars of Zelda since practically the start.

It's a vocal minority.

The dungeons are actually pretty decent but I just cannot handle Fi interrupting you every 2 minutes. The silent realms are actually the best part of the game because she's not in them.

>Introduce a fucking stamina bar for no reason
>Running needs the stamina bar
>Moving blocks, climbing vines, needs the stamina bar
It's fucked.

Stamina isn't an issue most of the time though and it recharges quickly.

The fact that it's there at all is the issue.

Why do you care if it doesn't usually get in the way?

Here, here.
I wouldn't even say it's the worst 3D Zelda.
Wielding your sword using motion controls really made you feel like a swordsman hero. Made defeating some of the bigger bosses really feel like an accomplishment.
Remember when you got catapulted onto the Imprisoned's head while he's trying to fly away? Physically smacking him back down into the pit felt so fucking satisfying.

Attached: Cloud Barrier.jpg (1574x1579, 789K)

Because it does get in the way. If you fall off of vines because you wanted to speed up the god awful climbing, that's getting in the way. If you have to pause and wait when moving blocks to finish a puzzle, that's getting in the way. If rather than being able to move at a fast speed but instead have to sprint > walk > sprint > walk, that's getting in the way and irritating.
If you truly thought it didn't get in the way, then why include one at all? It either does nothing and is a waste of time, or it limits the player.

The dungeons are probably the best 3D Zelda dungeons, and Skyloft is definitely charming.
What really kills it for me is the waggling. You know a game has bad controls when you reach the final boss and still fail at doing your intended action about 20% of the time.
It's also ridiculously inconsistent with its hand holding: the game has to tell me what a rupee is worth and that a Triforce is in the room, but when it comes to its shitty controls, it thinks its enough to show some "wagglan left-right" icon on the screen, and I'm just magically supposed to know what to do because they made the controls "So intuitive!".

Also, I think it repeats most of the sins of TP, in that it doesn't know to differentiate between dungeons and overworld. The overworld feels like an obstacle course rather than a world, and you'll never want to revisit anywhere which is why they have to slap teleporters all over the place.

>I definitely rate Skyward Sword as the worst 3D Zelda but it was not the travesty you dipshits make it out to be
Agreed. I think it's a solid game overall but I wouldn't play it again unless they did some major overhauls.

>If you fall off of vines because you wanted to speed up the god awful climbing, that's getting in the way. If you have to pause and wait when moving blocks to finish a puzzle, that's getting in the way.
I rarely had to pause at all, you just have to learn to pace the meter.
>rather than being able to move at a fast speed but instead have to sprint > walk > sprint > walk, that's getting in the way and irritating.
The normal jog cycle is as fast as any other 3D Zelda and you can easily get around being so slow by not depleting the entire meter.
>why include one at all? It either does nothing and is a waste of time, or it limits the player.
You're right about it being a waste of time, it just isn't as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

>just pace the meter
There shouldn't be a meter to pace in the first place, especially not a meter that limits progression.
It's basic movement, how is it not a big deal when you're doing it for the entire game?

Good game
Bad controls
Imprisoned fights should've been more thought out

>how is it not a big deal when you're doing it for the entire game?
Because it's pretty easy to live with and there are stamina potions that also mitigate it.

What makes a Zelda game a "REAL Zelda"?

Why was it so ugly?

The framing and progression with dungeons, items, overworld, etc. that's been the same for every release up to now.

- Zelda like combat (2D or 3D)
- Exploration focused overworld with breadth rather than depth
- Dungeons that take you deep into dangerous and unknown territory. Combat and/or puzzle focused.
BotW 2, if it has proper dungeons, will be the first real Zelda game since WW.

people like good games not "good" Zelds.
and also Zelda != Dungeons.

And yet that's probably the better incarnation of Zelda.

she wins by default, others Zelda barely have personalities.

>the better incarnation of Zelda.
She was awful as fuck.

SS had a TON of filler content that didn't actually matter and the pacing falls off heavily towards the end of the game. It really drags during the 3 dragons thing.

-Decent game
-Controls are too complex, should have been simplified
-Imprisoned fights should have been fucking REMOVED or redone entirely and not THREE FUCKING TIMES
-4 Silent Realm trials was way too fucking far, running around collecting beads is only fun once or twice
-Remove a lot of the tedium before certain dungeons - like finding 3 fucking power plugs in a circle that just amount to you jumping with time shift stones just to start the actual game in the temple

Sand Ship and Fire Sanctuary are the weakest dungeons.

I really loved Ancient Cistern and Sky Keep

Could you explain why you think the sandship is weak? I can understand the Fire Sanctuary, since the "digging minigame" is such a chore.

Skyview Temple was a pretty good first dungeon a lot better than the Forest Temple in TP.

Sand Ship is really weak because nothing is really going on. You run back and forth down hallways that all look similar and to me it just feels like work instead of fun.

glad to see WWFags are still the most despised on this site.
but hiding behind Skyward Sword? For shame.

I really liked the time-orb puzzles, but I've never replayed the game so I haven't felt the full brunt of the empty corridors.
Also, I think you pretty much run down the same one hallway over and over, so no wonder it looks the same.
