NieR Automata or BOTW, which one is the better game?

Nier no contest
Never played BotW but it must be horrible if Nier is better. That game was trash.
Botw easily
Neir is overrated to shit
They are both 6/10 at best, but NieR has had slightly more positive contributions due to all the pornographic material
Nier, easy. BOTW is overrated af.
Both have their issues and I preferred Gravity Rush 2, but even so I had much more fun with Automata. I'd probably like BotW more if it had actual dungeons.
> PC Cucks are still seething about NieR
Sony always wins, Cope more
botw is technically a better game, but I got way more enjoyment out of nier because of how crazy it gets, botw is basically just a really well done ubisoft game
One game has a protagonist I want to fuck
The other is NieR Automata
I love all the strawman builders in Nier threads that can't properly defend their game. Really shows the deep intellect of its fans.
> Literally spams the same buzzwords & never even writes a sentence on why it’s a poorly designed game in every thread
NieR haters are pathetic
Zelda. Nier Automata is an absurdly overrated game. The gameplay is gimmicky bullshit and everything the story does, Horizon Zero Dawn did better. The only thing it has going for it is the artdesign and even that doesn't translate to a world that's not mostly hideous. It does have a killer soundtrack, though.
Strawman again, I often go in details in Nier threads, and I get either your answer or "retard who spent 50 hours on route A".
Blindly spamming “overrated” or “game is trash” isn’t criticism
Nier. BoTW is just another generic open world.
Nier's genuinely good despite Squenix being trash 99% of the time and Nintendo's literally never made a good game, so I think I'll go with Nier.
Nier has a great story but the gameplay is nowhere near as good as botw
HZD did every thing better than BOTW too.
HZD was the best open world game of the year, easy.
I liked them both because they're very different games
>"sony always wins!!!"
>multiplat game
Utter retard
>>multiplat game
you mean just like botw
True, it's just a position. A position I am perfectly willing to defend if someone with an open mind and willing to listen comes along. But you are not that person, so I would rather not waste time.
Nier fans still resorting to insults in order to defend their game. Classy.
You know every nier game is playable on pc right even drakengard games
Horizon and Nier are NITHING alike in story and narration.
Has anyone ever noticed that Nierheads NEVER post any sort of intelligent critique about their beloved game? All you get is shallow blanket statements that mean nothing everytime: "Its cuhrasy!" "That ass tho Ughhh" "SO Deep".
This but for BoTW
botw. holy fuck imagine having such terrible taste to think Nier is more than a 4/10
I think Nier was better combat/graphics wise, but botw is way more complex with the cooking and the physics, plus I think it has more replay value. So overall, I'll say botw is the better game. Both are really good imo tho.
Tendie, we all loved Nintendo growing up but they have unironically been terrible for nearly 2 decades
They would make a cute couple
At least BotW is honest about being a shallow game meant for kids, it's not pretending to be something else. Same can't be said for Nier. For that, BotW gets my vote.
I'm afraid I couldn't choose either game. They both just lack substance and replayability. Worst of all, the fans don't care about the gameplay and they just talk about sniffing Zelda's farts, or having 2B sit on them. I hate to say this, but both games only sold because of waifufaggotry.
If we are talking just about pure gameplay and longevity and nothing else. I'll have to give it to BotW even though I love Nier A.
If we are talking about a story-focused game in which you play the game maybe once or twice full-over. Then I'll go with Nier A.
In short, it honestly depends on what you value. For me I go with Nier A just because I liked what I played for it. I don't think there's honestly a wrong answer here. Unless this thread is just for pure bait.
>replayability
there's too many games in the word and life is too short to waste it replaying things
>it's shit but it's honest about being shit which actually makes it good
are you a gymnast perchance
>rent free
PC CHAD here. Played NieR: Automata on PC, the best platform. It was good. Die mad, consolebabies.
>buying a 60 dollar game just to never touch it again after one playthrough
>not appreciating a game that can give you new surprises every playthrough
>literally being a CONSUME PRODUCT tier thinker
go whine about the next EPIC exclusives on reddit
Nier is the second defining game of this generation, behind Bloodborne but ahead of Mario odyssey.
BotW is a fantastic BLUEPRINT for the next Zelda. BotW2 will be the game it could've been.
Literally the only thing BOTW has going for it is the open-world. Nier has better gameplay, visuals, music, and story so obviously I'm going to pick it.
I refuse to pick. I love both.
Breath of the Wild is close to archetypal perfection, with themes similar to Arthurian legend, Star Wars, Sleeping Beauty, and so on ... so it's a deep and effecting story. If people knew what Link represented from an occult perspective, they would flip their shit, but people already know unconsciously; seeing how popular the character is.
So Breath of the Wild is spiritually high caliber. The gameplay was an an amazing and fresh break from Zelda tradition. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's worthy of the praise it gets, and seems like a template for expansion. The world was lovely and open, but felt hollow or empty sometimes.
Nier:A on the other hand was a fun action RPG. It can be cheesed very easily with upgrade chips, but the variety of the gameplay, the quests, the aesthetics, the world, it's all great.
Nier is further from archetypes, but is a sound gnostic parable; up there with Evangelion.
I really couldn't pick one over the other; but I guess I can say that both games put me in different moods. When I want something light, pure, and fresh, I play Zelda. When I want something clean, cool, and melancholic, I play Nier.
Rating videogames is kinda retarded.
fuck off acfag
I didn't say shit, I said shallow. As in simple, with little depth or substance. But yes, both games are shallow. If I have to pick one, I pick the one that doesn't pretend to be otherwise.
Good games have a definitive ending, zoomer. Stick to le ebin multiplayer cashgrab battle royal games, though. I'm sure the next loot box will contain your favorite gun skin or whatever.
Like I give a shit. I pirate every game regardless of store.
That's a tough call. The two are fundamentally different games and experiences. It isn't easy to compare them in many aspects. I would go with BOTW due to polish and mechanical profeciency, but Automata is still a damn good game.
>Nier is the second defining game of this generation
I really liked Nier Automata, I finished it out most of the endings, but I can't for the life of me understand where people get this opinion from. Is there a concise explanation for why people feel this way?
>forgetting the classics like Pac-man and Tetris, which had no story but were infinitely replayable regardless
>wanting games to just be cinematic hogwash that's only fun the first time around
And you call others zoomers?
>tfw no A2 gf
>wanting to go back to when games were too primitive to have a story
cringe
It's one of the most memorable game's made that expertly balances over-the-top elements and battles with a very prominent undertone /theme. Great music, a fun combat system with an interesting chip system as well.
There's better action games, there's better ARPGs but it's about how effective Automata is as a complete project. It's fully realized and memorable and doesn't feel like it's derivative of the major ames this gen
>wanting to go back to a time before the disgusting plague of story and cinematics infected the medium
What's wrong with that?
Nier A is literally just a KH game without the sonic-tier autism required to enjoy anything about it beyond the gameplay
Character action retards will claim this is false because it's not KH2FM tier but it's literally the exact same mashup of genres except the shmup parts aren't a complete afterthought and the story is actually good enough that it works in a self- contained format despite all of the secondary mats for it
BotW is pretty fucking generic outside of the ability to climb and limited flight, it could be a good setup for a better game if nintendo actually is setting up a trend of improving their big titles' narratives
Automata had the better story and music, Zelda had better everything else.
>KH game without sonic-tier autism
That's a fantastic thing
>Shit graphics
>Empty open world
>Onions protagonist
What everyting else are you talking about?
It sure had weapons that break every 2 seconds and a constant stream of rain to prevent you from climbing things
how are they in any way related?
Automata isn't the perfect character action game but I cannot believe anybody would genuinely think BOTW has better combat
Definitely memorable, I can agree with you there. Great music, absolutely. The combat is definitely something I had an issue with, I was expecting more fine control from Platinum, the combo potential fell short from me and I can only assume that was to take progression out of the skill of the hands of the player and into their chip system for RPG purposes, which seems like an odd choice for a game as meta as Automata.
When I put it all together I would call it a solid B+ for the reasons you describe. Maybe my problem is, there's so much D- garbage out there right now that when a game isn't an out of the park A+ homerun OR crap, I don't know how to feel about it...
>5 hours of disgusting non-interactive cutscenes
>"better story"
based
A world and mechanics that are fun to creatively play around with. I prefer Automata as a core linear experience, but BOTW had more fun in its general exploration and sense of discovery.
Not wanting to fuck 9S's robotic boypussy
>If people knew what Link represented from an occult perspective, they would flip their shit, but people already know unconsciously; seeing how popular the character is.
care to elaborate on this point? sounds intriguing
Because nier automata isn't a generic open world LMAO
This game legit has one of the worst designed world of all time
>story bad! it's not a movie it's a game!
Automata has better music, story, sidequests, dungeons, characters, combat and bosses, while BotW has better
umm...
Yes, all those copies of BOTW sold were to waifufags. Every single one.
You need a detox from here my man
nier by default. botw is a physics tech demo and a walking simulator, not a game.
A game only on Nintendo devices
NieR is on Xbone and Steam aka competitors of Sony, cope
They're both flawed but I enjoyed Automata far more. Maybe it was simply a difference in expectations, but BotW was a serious letdown for me, whereas Automata constantly surprised me.
Automata also has responsive controls and runs at 60 FPS.
and botw is on pc.
botw is better, but neither is best of the decade. that award goes to bloodstained curse of the moon
