Laptop thread

Can you guys rec me a gaming laptop that doesn't look autistic? By that, I mean alienware is out of the question.

Budget is $1500 or more depending if there is much more value in a more expensive one.

just turn RGB off. Or save some money and build a more powerful, cooler, and upgradeable machine in an ITX enclosure.

MSI laptops are quite good

ASUS TUF FX505DY. Equipped with a Ryzen 7 and GTX 1650TI. Relatively cheap for its hardware.

>Ryzen 7

laptops no matter the brand are all unreliable, especially if you buy it for gaming the heat will end up killing it sooner or later. So with that in mind and that budget then just buy anything with an RTX and you're set. Of-course you won't be able to buy one with an RTX 2080 since those cost $2k minimum but one with a 2060 is around $1200, and $1500 for the 2070 but the $300 aren't really worth the tiny performance gain.

Dude wtf, with 1500 you could buy a bomb ass PC, why the fuck do you want a shitty laptop that will have such worse performance?

Don't buy a gaming laptop you fucktard. Buy a cheap 400 dollar one. If you need to play games on a laptop you're retarded anyway and should just stick with console gaming.

what if I just want to play Diablo 2 at work? It's not graphically demanding game so I think it won't harm the laptop

I already have a good PC you dumb nigger, now answer my question or gtfo

Nigger you need to shut up and sit down.

$400 mobile ryzen APU is more than enough for that.

Dell's recent RTX laptops are surprisingly pretty un-gamer looking

Literally any laptop made in the last 20 years will run diablo 2, you don't need a fucking gaming laptop for that

Literally buy a $50 thinkpad

a laptop you can carry it with you everywhere and modern laptops are powerful, almost as powerful as a desktop. Modern laptops with an RTX use the same gpu as the desktops but with a slight down clock.

what if I also want to play CSGO? I might need a gaymen laptop for that

Gigabyte Aero 14 & 15 are also pretty un-gaudy

Nope, any ivy bridge or newer i5i/7 with integrated graphics will run cs go

You should take a look at Eluktronics, I have a mech tech G2 that's been pretty good for what I play.

this, $1500 build including 144hz display will stomp all over any similarly priced laptop. Sandwich style case like picrelated is even smaller if needed.

Also expensive as shit with poor battery and thermal problems, like all gaymin laptops. Who buys this crap, honestly?

mobile ryzen is only a 4c8t zen 1 chip. It's ok but it'll be completely invalidated by the zen 2 8c+ SKUs.

>needed a laptop that could game and I could use to play 4k movies off of via hdmi since I don't have a desktop
>MSI ones are good priced for a proper 1070 and never got hot once unless playing something at high/max settings
big fucking downside is that after a year one of the two pieces of plastic that tie the monitor to base (can't remember the name, it's late lmao) snapped and now I can't close it. God bless cheap chrome books for travel I suppose

Anyways ramble aside, if you truly need one then get an MSI for around 1.3k or wait for sales.
