I'm not sure how it's possible to be as incompetent as Gravity. RO itself has always been handled poorly but it was truly run into the ground with Renewal. All the shitty theme park sequels and horrible remakes and ports just serve as an insult to a once great game.

the woe equivalent is a lagfest because of bad coding, and pvp is basically like the arena from WoW and you spam shit till the other player dies, it's similar to RO in that regard but unironically soulless

Gravity is an one hit wonder company, and will try to put Ragnarok into anything they do (I'm looking at you "Uracha, surprise! Ragnarok"), in the hopes of milking the nostalgiafags, a strategy that impressively works.
Milking Ragnarok until it's beyond dry is the only reason why Gravity is still around.

It wasn't, Gravity just decided that it was wise to let the whole original team behind it leave because they were sure that they could continue without them. Kinda like how Blizzard killed Blizzard North because they were convinced that they could recreate Diablo II's magic spark without them.

I used to host a private server pre-renewal and from time to time I get that nostalgia and think about starting it back up, but the game is solved down to a science at this point and it would just be depressing to sit around in Payon with the type of people who would beat the game again nowadays.
