Nothing but fanservice and long-winded, pretentious dialogues? Metal Gear Solid.

something with many entrees and an out of order timeline. but I can't think of any good examples

Oh shit, is this finally online? Is it good?

monogatoari its a parody in every entry mocks elitist fagots

its my least favorite because nothing has any consequence because its a mirror world. but its okay. I struggled through it when I've enjoyed every other part.

people really don't know when to use pretentious

>something that seems complex and deep but is actually shallow
Feel free to critique my definition, I'll accept constructive criticism.

Not him, but the point is that It needs to be "attempting to impress". Meanwhile this show is full of otaku pandering and always makes fun of itself. If you believe the actual themes are deep or not that's entirely up to you.

its self aware though, how can it be pretentious when it doesn't actually take itself seriously?

>invite to hotel

They talk a lot so my ADHD ridden mutt brain can't keep up therefore i label it as pretentious in order to cope.

Do later seasons become more self aware? For the first 5 or so episodes of Bakemonogatari it seemed to take itself relatively seriously. Does it work better in LN format?

it does work a lot better in book format because araragis inner monologues are intentionally dorky, but yeah as the series progresses it gets more and more over the top in a self aware kind of way

For me, it's Hanekawa
