Honestly SM64 is stiff as hell. It isn’t a high bar to beat.

>Galaxy
user, please.

Anyone that says SM64 is ''stiff'' or ''clunky'' is just a scrub.

>tighter control
Sunshine

Rayman 3

There are so many games with shitty, clunky controls, especially from that era. Why should Mario 64 get a pass? Because Nintendo?

Odyssey is a good pick. Mario controls slightly heavier than SM64 Mario but you still have total control over his movement. You can pull off some crazy moves and cappy adds a lot of depth.

Yep, you're just trolling.

>tight
>clunky
>slippery
>stiff

None of these words mean anything. A games controls are entirely dependent on its level design and what it asks of the players. Each 3D mario game has a control system that suits the games design since each major 3D mario is fairly different from each other.

I don't think so. In Sunshine the ACUAC destroys all that makes a Mario game good. The classic levels are the only good thing in Sunshine and even in them it shows the lack of movements for Mario in that game.

>Fludd ruins the game

I disagree. Most people who say this always claim that it ruins platforming because you can just lazily hover to each platform. If you actually use marios expanded moveset alongside of FLUDD you'll realize how much hovering slows you down and makes you inefficient. Hovering is certainly a crutch but if you're using it enough to ruin the platforming then you weren't ever going to play the game well in the first place. Even mario 64 can be completely in a slow and uninteresting way by just using the basic jump, but its only sunshine where the path of least resistance is used as an argument.

For the record I think 64 is the better game, im just tired of seeing this boring ass take. Theres so much more to complain about with sunshine than FLUDD which isnt an actual issue.
