Too bad Mandalore's video came so late (according to his twitter he had literal fluid leaking from his spine, so that's understandable) and even though some people may buy the game like they did Classic HD after his video on that, it's still too far removed from the release now. IPL have lost some staff, there's no word on next campaigns or the game's sales figures or anything after that one difficulty patch, so I don't think we'll ever see Bachelor or Changeling, or hell, even more IPL games. Sucks desu.

It has a lot of systems going on, the original game had poor English translation making the already complex plot even harder to follow and it's generally not holding your hand at all. Journos can't get into it because it's not a walking sim, the publisher sucks and doesn't want to engage in marketing and people don't know about the game. This is the industry as of now.

It's a walking simulator that actually requires careful planning to not outright die to the survival aspects of the game, and has writing that is obtuse and dense as part of the game's appeal.

In other words, it scares people who like walking sims and can't actually play the game because they're too bad at it, and bores the more typical hardcore neckbeard who gets board with reading a novel or two's worth of Russian surrealism.

The difficulty might turn some people off so maybe it's okay to sell it to people like this.

He herniated a disk, probably by lifting somethign improperly. Possibly just a genetic issue triggered by bad luck. "Leaking spinal fluid" is just a meme that means that your back ain't in proper order, it's not going to kill you. One of the disks in his spine partially popped out and is putting pressure on his nerves.

It will be unbelievably painful for 6-12 weeks and totally prevent you from enjoying anything, and surgeries are largely pointless because they have a high failure rate and even when they succeed are generally crippling. Usually, they fuse the disks affected together -- and your spine is not really meant to have discs fused together. Loss of mobility -- you can't bend disks that are fused, after all -- is generally the least of the bad side effects.

Some shit gets explained to you more since Haruspex is from the town, just been gone for 5 years so people don't explain some shit as much about it to him then Bachelor, a outsider. 2 works as both a sequel and a remake, since it starts with the worst possible outcome and essentially resets the whole thing.

If you want, you can try out the original game, but it's hard to get into if you're not a fan of weird arthousy games or a Russian. The remake is fine for a first taste, and seeing as how the other 2 campaigns are unlikely to come out, you may play the original after 2 just to see the other stories if you like.

Survival games usually have shit mechanics, no one really likes it nor considers it "survival", because there's no tension, nothing at stake, and it's just linear. Pathologic is essentially a point&click adventure game, except with survival and in time attack mode, and that certainly ups the stakes.

Don't be too hung up on the survival aspect, it builds slowly, and it varies as time passes, you could try to get your hands on food, later on a gun, then on medicine, there's no fixed objective, and it affects the story.

That mysterious DLC is not released yet, so we don't know how much more time they'll spend on it. Even so, it's been 3 months already, so a part of the team not busy with patches or whatever could very well be engaged with the Bachelor route seeing as the town is fully done, the characters and assets are available, so it's a much easier task than the first route.
I don't think this DLC is a new route either, but it could potentially come out quickly if they are indeed making the second campaign. Not in 3-4 months, sure, but like 6-9 months seems reasonable.

They've made it clear that, at the very least, the Haruspex and Bachelor campaigns were developed in parallel, and the game assets are already done. Bachelor was probably already mostly done at the time of Haruspex's release. Meanwhile, the association of Bachelor with the Marble Nest demo means it'd work as a marketable title for the DLC release of a new campaign.

Turgor has twice as much text, so sisters actually tell what they stand for in a nice poetic language. The Void has 'at your face' voice of color. Also, it removes all the ambiguity the game setting and your situation have.
Mechanics are far less polished but arguably deeper, too.

If you want to play Turgor, look up for Turgor English subtitles and install them over Polish Steam version.

Classic HD is easier, but mostly because hobonomics are a bit simpler, fewer resources to manage, so you mostly feel a low-grade anxiety tinged with boredom while wandering. 2 is harder, by far, but the greater focus on being the town's garbage collector means you're always busy, instead of just mindlessly walking.

Infected containers are covered in black sooty looking grunge, it's not immediately obvious if you're not looking for it but once you know what to look for it's hard to miss.

Got infected my first time through because of this, had to be a retarded and rifle through every single cupboard in that one infected house you visit trying to get your dad's house back.

I ignored (read: didn't even find) the bit where the Kin are after Rubin and you have to kill them/lead them away and he was fine. Just have your panacea made as soon as physically possible, talk to him while he's sleeping and maybe say some nice things, and he should be fine.

Lara and Rubin are real easy to convince, it's Grief who doesnt feel he has a place.

If I remember correctly: tell Rubin reunion was Lara's idea; tell Grief no one holds a grudge against him.

I did all of that and he still got killed the morning after the night where you speak to him in bed, hence why I'm so confused as to what I did wrong.

IPL can't communicate for shit, it was better way back in kickstarter but as the time progressed they've became more and more silent. I used to chalk it up to the crunch they were doing. But then I realized it's just IPL being IPL, social interactions are just not their forte.
