Gonna rescue this thread from certain death and say that Wotani's Vanagand fighter is super-OP. A small carrier with 4 fighter slots, equipped with vanagands, kills Onslaught in fair 1 on 1 combat.
Give me the skinny on Alphas, bois. Will they chill if I let them do their thing or will they eventually decide meatspace is inefficient and should be purged?
Alright I wanna do some Smugglin'. Any tips on what ships to use and what's the best thing to smuggle? I'm thinking drugs
You look at the market stats, then you decide what to smuggle. Just use high burn transport ships and mod them to have extra cargo/personnel space. Marines are one of the most profitable things to smuggle
For those playing Nexerelin, will selling blueprints on the open market cause the factions in question to learn them and use them against me later? In that vein, will selling Nanoforges or Synchrotrons benefit the faction I sell them to?
In current version the only downside from using one as colony leader is a very bad even when you try to remove it. Using them to improve industries seems to be completely harmless.
Instead of just choosing what to smuggle you're much better of checking which goods are bought for largest markup, and deliver those. You can check that in the tooltip of the good.
Just sell them on black market. I've done nothing but sell on the black market and I always earn credits by raiding for blueprints. On rare occasions pirates might use the ships you've sold, but when most of their fleets are still garbage it doesn't really matter.
Alpha cores are not shown outright malevolent - it will continue to do its job as admin even when it's outside of your reach, and only will fight you only if you try to basically take life away from it and put it back in a box. Ones at remnant systems don't go outside of them and will only fight you if you invade their territory. If anything tachiniggers deserve eliminations much more than them.
So from reading the previous thread, it's not worth it to recover derelict ships and use them in your fleet if you have nothing better? Because sitting around and scooping up the AI's disabled ships to build a fleet sounds pretty good
It's worth it, and with right skills d-mods on recovered ships reduce upkeep, each d-mod by 20%. You are not very likely to find anything good, but if you do find it by all means, take it.
Hey anons, I just started using nexerelin and I'm kind of at a loss. On my vanilla playthrough I was able to do exploration and bounties to make my millions, but I feel like my fleet is too small for that, and I'm not really sure where to get a good cash flow going. Should I just go probe hunting for a while?
There are d-mods that affect only logistics and not combat performance, and ones that are almost irrelevant like armor strength on high-tech.
Removing d-mods costs slightly more than buying fresh ship, so if it's the ship you want, you may as well do it rather than trying to find one for sale, especially if it's one of rarer ones.
Investing any points into yellow skills isn't worth it unless you want completely meme playthrough.
I like the Hatchetman
best low tech frigate
>he doesn't give his ships silly names
>Anti-Matter of Opinion
Nice
>renaming ships
I FIND my silly names, thank you
>4 d-mods
an apt name for a fucked ship
IS THAT A FREE PORT I SEE
Yeah, they're like extremely loyal workaholics. They'll do their job, and they'll do it damn well, and fuck you for trying to stop them from doing their job.
Also, yeah, AIs aren't exactly EEEEVIIIIL, they're still going around, those assigned as security do their job as security, as you've probably heard "We wish you a good day from Tri-Tachyon Incorporated".
Though there's still the mystery of the "You are not Omega." So I'm guessing when the finished game comes out that's gonna be the final challenge that'll start taking over the sector 5 cycles in or so, long enough for your player to settle in either with another faction, or as his own faction.
I herd you like Muskips
>found plans for this ridiculous fucking thing
nigga I'm still cruising around with my biggest ship a destroyer I can't afford this
time to sell to pirates and fuckign die
So whats the orange stripe indicator on ships? the amount of (D) mods?
Hey Hey People :D
oops
Can you build a space station in the asteroid belt like pirates do?
yeah you'll definitely die that mod has the most broken ships outside of blue/red
How "complete" is the game right now?
DME is way too pristine looking for the rest of the game, or is that just me?
Shit looks like it belongs in an operating room.
What makes that ship in particular better than an Astral?
>>How complicate the combat is?
god fucking damn how can exploration be so boring, 2 hours and only found 1 research station, which dropped 150,000 c worth of shit
fuck this game sometimes
I like it, it looks fucking amazing
Need more themed corporations like DME, a Krupp/Messershmitt/Focke-Wulf faction would be neat
>but when most of their fleets are still garbage it doesn't really matter.
you clearly haven't been dunked on by quad-paragon pirate fleets before
If its research stations you after just go raid Neutron star/Black Hole systems
try not to get all your supplies melted
Also make sure to scavenge the debris field after you loot a research station, you get more tech
but its never a guarantee, it's like 1 out of 5 has a station, fucking chore to do the boring fly out and resupplies
nebula always have at least 1 mining/research station i find, try them
Someone Orionpill me on Starsector. Is it hard to get into? Punishing and harsh in the beginning, but easy as shit in the end? I'm in the mood for a comfy, complex space game, but not really into something that's overly complicated to pick up and learn.
You can make enough credits to buy anything within 30 minutes. It's not hard
>go to black hole
>looking for research station
>sensor ping
>bingo! contact in event horizon
>move in
>it's a probe
I feel cheated
What about Approlight?
Also, which modded faction do I declare war on?
Neutrino or Foundation of Borken?
Don't worry, the earlygame is easy! Just visit the systems with the glowing beacons and we'll help you out! Don't forget to visit the red ones!
>first colony was a 125% hazard terran planet relatively near the core worlds that I discovered early on
>now I have a big fleet I'm exploring the outer systems to find suitable locations for expansion
>system after system filled with just the same old shitty 200%+ hazard worlds
>get tired, thought fuck this shit
>use the survey all cheat
>turns out my original planet was literally THE best non-taken planet in the entire map
>every
do it senpai, you're using nex right?
Nothing wrong with 200% hazard worlds. In my current game I shat out 7 colonies in 1 system, 5 of them being shitty/no resource 200% hazard worlds and It worked out amazingly. My biggest earner is a gas giant at 130k a month at size 5. Just slap refineries, light industry and fuel producers everywhere. Hazard really doesn't mean that much, upkeep is barely anything.
Is there anything worth looting in Blade Breaker systems?
I beat like 15 BB fleets with my three capitals and it seems like there's nothing worthwhile in the entire system/
Not complete. There is no story or anything resembling it. You're just fooling around in an open world.
nope, you just got memed on
It's simple but punishes your mistakes very hard. Combat is the best thing this game has to offer.
Can I propose peace agreements with Nexerelin? Sometimes other factions propose this to me and I can either accept or reject it, but I don't know if I can initiate the proposal.
DId they skin a fucking cat?
That ship looks cool but nearly as cool as one that spams 6 bombers in your face in coordinated waves at triple speed because of instant recall & rearm ability and also costs 10 points less.
Perhaps I missed something but I don't get what's particularly OP about DME. Some of their fighters and cruiser-sized carrier are pretty strong but that's all. They don't even have dedicated gun capital.
They look like dogshit, dont match the game at all, and they are brokenly OP.
How to pirate this game?
Low complexity high skill ceiling.
Dont explore randomly, always take missions. They point you in the direction of systems with things in them.
Is it overkill to give Onslaught-chan a heavy armor hull mod?
ultrakekkers, just download it for free
>2 hours and only found 1 research station, which dropped 150,000 c worth of shit
Nigga what the fuck I make 1 million an hour easily.
Max scavenger, take lots of cargo space and fuel, accept as many missions for exploration that are near each other. You'll have so much money and shit it ruins the game.
No, really. Is there a BB station at the very least which I can destroy/raid for blueprints?
Onslaughtsama could always be thiccer
nah
I just modified the ship.data file so BB ships are recoverable to give an incentive for actually fighting them, but thats hardly balanced.
Where do I find those fancy high tech donutships and carriers that always gets posted?
I searched around tritach worlds but no one is selling them. Do I need to go fight [REDACTED] ordos? I got my shit pushed in last time. I managed to beat off the first 4* fleet only for the station to immediately spawn another 4* fleet and send them my way when my ships are still low on CR. Had to immediately traverse jump outta there.
By the way, how should I outfit it?
The fact that the 3 large ballistics can’t aim all at the same spot fucks me up because I put them all on the same weapon group.
Great, another thing to add to my "reasons why DME is fucking trash" list.
Whats with all the Starsector threads of late?
Not that I mind
>They look like dogshit
they look great
>and they are brokenly OP.
How so? You have said this multiple times in these threads, how about actually explaining why? I can't decide whether to get the mod because people keep saying this. this:
looks worse than an Astral, unless that System has retarded high values
You need to get friendly with Tri and take a commission with them. They are the only people who have the tech.
I tried?
Looks nice, i couldn't wait till i found a really good one and just plopped a colony down on first habitable world i could find.
>You have said this
Different people fucknuts, and by virtue of their stats being fucking better than any other ship in their class. This isnt even a matter of taste on their design, they dont fit the aesthetic at all and belong in star citizen as jpegs more than SS. Its a shit mod, end of discussion.
dude, ditch tech mining right now
What's a good/fun endgame flagship? I tried out the phase ships recently. The Doom is nice but the mines are pretty useless against slow moving ships with a lot of PD. Really like the Harbinger and its fuck you ability but it seems to be better used as AI support than as a flagship.
>plopped a colony down on first habitable world i could find.
>even without AI cores and at pop 4 my world made 300k
Oof, proving its worth the effort of finding a real world.
This picture is couple of days old, there is no more tech mining, i started regular mining instead.
>Different people fucknuts
Different people that just happen to post in an identical way, lmao
>and by virtue of their stats being fucking better than any other ship in their class.
"no"
>This isnt even a matter of taste on their design, they dont fit the aesthetic at all and belong in star citizen as jpegs more than SS. Its a shit mod, end of discussion.
"no"
>have 4 nanoforge, 3 synchotron, and 3 alphacores
>6m in the bank
>hi-tech blueprints including some capital class ships
>still no good system to colonize
:(
All of the Imperium ships.
You should do that anyway
If there's a target you want to focus, just turn best girl to the side a bit and you can hit a target with two of them, and the remaining turret wont fire allowing you to focus more flux towards your target
If you want to fire all three at once, you can just set them to autofire and they'll do their thing, its still possible to focus fire like that by just targetting what you want to hit.
Surely this is bait.
>decivilised
Ouch. It's always worth it to colonise first then immediately abandon to get rid of it. It costs you a bit of money but absolutely worth it long term.
>this mod is shit
ok, why?
>fuck you its just shit
no but please tell me, use your words
>REEEEEEEEEEEEE
uh, ok?
>200% hazard, both ores +1, volatiles +1
>250% hazard, both ores +3, volatiles +1
Which one should I put mining on? Perhaps will also add refining if I need something else on main colony.
>only one person hates this OP mod
Nope, you're just retarded
What is wrong with tech mining?
Try Odyssey, it is stronger than it looks and its system is pretty hilarious to use.
how is it OP
tell me, post one of these incredibly OP game breaking ships right now
Just ignore him. There are plenty of mods that get hated on but when you ask people what's wrong with them they can't give any actual answers. It's like you're arguing with children
This.
I'm using pic related and having an absolute blast.
>at least 3 million worth of upgrades not to mention the AI cores
>barely making 100k a month
>it would take 40 in game years to pay it all off
Jesus user you literally would be better off keeping the money.
For some reason I just can't get Imperium ships to work, they seem to have such shit weapon layouts. Admittedly I haven't tried out the big boys but the Ceasar battleship seems to be incredibly easy to kill in simulations relative to other battleships.
>samefaggin to save face
People literally told you, look at the stats, they're well above any other ship within their own class. God damn you're dumb as fuck.
Here is your last (you) shitposter, inb4 you post a poor paint edit to try and save face.
I wanna see how Omega is like, must be superior than Alpha. Or probably they'll just make it a story character
>Ceasar battleship
The hell? I spank the shit out of pretty much everything with that baby with default auto-fit weapon layout.
Also, remember you can put a different Imperial hull mod that modifies the ship systems.
I mean fighting against the Ceasar, havnt piloted it myself.
>For some reason I just can't get Imperium ships to work, they seem to have such shit weapon layouts
Make sure you pay attention to what damage the weapons do.
They have amazing weapons, but you need to balance it properly, about 25/75 for armor/shields works. Or just pure anti shield on your smaller ships.
One or two of the weapons are really awful though, doing like 50% damage to shields/armor and 100% to hull which is pointless.
Press S to spit on pirate graves
I mean the weapon hardpoints on imperial ships, not imperial weapons themselves.
I just started a colony, what do I do now?
I'm not sure what the fuck he's doing. A size 6 world even without shit ton of alpha and beta cores should be raking in 200-300k per month.
Ah, fuck, I misread.
It's not a fair judgement, my man. Onslaught is relatively easy to kill when piloted by an AI yet it can perform incredible feats of absolute slaughter when controlled by the player.
>Installing a loading tip AIDS
They have fewer larger slots, but its well balanced. You definitely need the increased weapon range hull mod but if you're not running that on every ship you're playing wrong.
make it make you money to fund large as fuck fleets with big fucking guns
use said fleet to decimate the core worlds
Remember to stay hydrated :)
Its a shit world thats all. You cant salvage something that awful.
Now this world on the other hand...
Okay but how do I get it to make money? Also it's like super far away from the core worlds so going back and forth is a huge hassle
I feel like I've kinda gotten the hang of the game now. I definitely enjoy smuggling to rake in the fat stacks of cash, and colony building seems neat too.
Now that I kinda know what I'm doing, should I just keep going with vanilla, or get a mod like Nex with maybe some extra factions or what have you and start over now that I'm still not too many hours in.
>Also it's like super far away from the core worlds so going back and forth is a huge hassle
Did you ever consider not making life for yourself shit
Burn the world down, start again
Large weapons are seriously overrated because AI can deal incredibly well with burst flux by retreating and cycling its shields. It's consistent pressure the AI can't handle.
make it have surplus, retarded niggerfaggot
Get all these mods. It is more fun than the base game, more ships, more weapons, more variety.
Nex is personal choice, I dont like my galaxy going to shit and all the faction spawns moving around and fucking up which is why I dont use it.
Tech-mining is the problem. It runs out eventually. He should switch to mining and refining instead. And if he has no resources to mine as I can't really tell from the overview, he should create a light industry.
>All that shit
>High gravityy
Cursed image.
Seriously, high gravity is AIDS incarnate.
Is being a smuggler with a single ship viable? Can I outrun everything? Will I ever have enough fuel?
>with a single ship
Why? Neither your speed nor your sensor profile benefits from running solo. Smuggling requires huge cargo holds, and you can't get more than 2000 with a single ship, which is inadequate.
> Sixteen Tons
Very good
Yellow skills would have been perfectly viable if only there was one that gives bonus to CR recovery speed. Repair speed is useless without it.
>Mora looks ugly as shit
>but it's objectively better than Heron
Why is it so hard to have a carrier fleet that looks nice.
why the fuck would you smuggle with no cargo space, do you want to make 1 credit profit each trip or something
Virgin vanilla, chad Imperium.
How is it better than a heron?
>25% hostile and 10% accessibility
Its literally irrelevant, that world has every single resource. Its entirely self sufficient.
Should I go with a Hammerhead or an Apogee for starters?
>Pirate fleet comes at me toting a Paragon
WHOA THERE
The ship on your picture looks awful as well, and it's also most likely unbalanced.
>recover 50% of all damage for free
Yellow skills are viable, you just dont understand them.
Your taste is shit and you do not deserve nice things.
Have fun with ugly fucking Moras.
>advanced starts
Gross. Pick wolf and work your way up.
Well you're wrong on both counts but dont let that stop you
Have fun with your stupid overpowered modships. Bet you reload saves as well.
I'm having fun with my reasonably balanced mods, thank you.
>reloading saves
As opposed to what? Savefiles getting deleted after loading them once? Saving saves?
The hazard rating probably don't matter but -10% accessibility kills. You absolutely need accessibility if you want to spam out exports.
imagine being unable to have fun with mods in a game with as little content as this
>twice as much hull/armor as Astral, more flux, more dissipation, better shield, free hullmods
Yeah, pal, totally not OP. Keep lying to yourself.
Every time I had to fight multiple fleets in a row, CR was bottleneck, not damage. You can recover 75% for free with other skill, and still will not be ready to fight until some time passes because it recovers too slow.
Apart from Neut and those ugly white sepository ships, the other mod packs are actually super well balanced.
Enjoy using the same 3 ships over and over in a totally unbalanced base game though. It tells you a lot that the best three ships in the game are all vanilla ships even in comparison to mods.
>but -10% accessibility kills.
>80% on default with another +50% from buildings
Yeah, no.
Can one faction completely conquer another in Nexerelin?
which faction mods do you guys recommend
How often do you just let the AI handle fights over doing them yourself?
I don't know from which mod this ship is from, but I really really like it. it's basically an onslaught with better mobility, shields and frontal firepower at the cost of some armor. has fighter bays too
also does anyone know how to remove the cheat that gives you more radar? I inputed it because I was tired of looking for a pirate base in a system but I cannot seem to ba able to remove it.
if you mean the console command radar code, just type it again
I want a faction mod, but one where the faction isn't full of special sowflake ships with their own weapons and fighters. Ideally a mix of vanilla and new ships (in vanilla style) that use vanilla weapons.
Does such a thing even exist? All mods I've seen on the forum tend to make factions completely self-sufficient and don't go well with base game's art style at all.
There are plenty like that look again
Id guess an Omega AI core is leader of the remnant forces, and because they too lost contact with everything after the collapse, they are flying across space trying to find omega so they can get more orders.
>plenty
Name one (1).
You realize mod ships are often more balanced than vanilla ones, right?
>Luddites and [REDACTED] on the same system
what in the goddamn fuck
Well then clearly you're just a retarded manchild.
fractalsoftworks.com
Need me to wipe your ass too?
>has easy access to a mod index which shows every single good mod ship pack easily
>is so dumb he has to come to Yea Forums for help anyway
No, he obviously doesn't.
it's not really a faction mod because it adds content to existing factions, but ship/weapon pack is your best bet, it does add weapons but they only complement vanilla so the setups from the mod's ships are basically vanilla.
Can anyone recommend Scy?
>ships/weapons pack
Apparently you can't read, dear retard. I asked for a FACTION mod. SWP doesn't add new factions to the game.
>wants a faction pack that doesnt add a faction
You're a fucking moron, here is your last (you)
>mod ships are often more balanced than vanilla ones
In practice that means that mod ships use the BEST vanilla ships as power reference and make the shitty portion of vanilla ships even more obsolete.
This
Statistically phase lances arent that good but good luck finding any weapon as useful as them for those slots etc.
It's an inevitability.
A crusade against toasters, that's what.
There are four really good ones which do exactly that but since you're a little bitch im not telling you
:^)
Nice save, my illiterate friend. Go ask your mommy to explain my first post to you, you clearly can't figure it out yourself.
Too bad mod planets are as balanced as their ships.
Start playing with too many mods and the economy gets fucked because every mod has massive suppliers of everything with 40k ground defenses, 4 alpha cores, and a jump point 3 feet away from their core planet.
How many mods is too many?
>In practice that means that mod ships use the BEST vanilla ships as power reference and make the shitty portion of vanilla ships even more obsolete.
No, the game just isnt that complicated to balance well. Barely any of the core ships or the mod ships are unbalanced.
All ships fall down to armor vs shielding and all weapons are anti armor vs anti shield. Its not hard to balance.
Jesus if you hate mods dont use them and if you like them use them why do you all have to autistic screech about this.
Hes full of shit, the planets are in line with the default ones. You cant have 'too many' mods because they dont interfere.
No they just told it to be really really still
How much profit is there to be made in arming space jihadists and smuggling illegally harvested kidneys around?
Is Earth featured in this game?
Not that i know of, it might not even be the milky way we're playing in
Wait, so where the fuck are we
Persean Sector, some shithole galaxy or something only reachable by gateways that were shut down 206 years ago.
We'll you're in hell, Yea Forums is your punishment.
Remember you're here forever :^)
some section of some place once colonized by the Domain
then the collapse happened, domain ended, sector was cut off from the rest of humanity
now the only human thing left is the core worlds in the middle of the sector, and the illegal organ market therein
This game is old as fuck and now you shill start posting about it? What the fuck was is wrong with white people
So it's totally feasible that the Domain is still around and might plan an invasion to retake the sector?
it got an update that makes you colonize planets recently nignog
How do you know someone just didn't forget to pay the electric bill and that's why the gates stopped working?
Hes full of shit, most faction planets aren't in line with the default ones.
You'll need to visit each mod factions planets to see if you're okay with how broken they are or aren't.
>to retake
People speculate that they intentionally cut it off from gates because there was so much shit there they didn't wanted.
>to retake the sector?
They intentionally dumped all retards, niggers and whores into the Persean to "accidentaly" cut the gates off, they aren't coming back.
we just have no idea what anything or anyone outside the sector is doing
>using the N-word on Yea Forums
based and organpilled
Anyone a fan of Sylphon?
Nigger AND a newcunt, what a thrill.
So, is Nex actually a good step up from the vanilla game, or does it break more than it adds?
>I don't know from which mod this ship is from
Vayra's ship pack, one of the few based mods.
you're on a mongolian basket weaving forum complaining about slurs, how is your day going?
>Vayra
>based
Hello, Vayra. Your generic kitbash is shit.
It adds much needed depth
This reddit frog meme is old as fuck and now you zoomer start posting it? What the fuck was is wrong with white people
Question: Is it posible to make money selling the capital ships you salvage from enemies after battle?
Shut up cracker nigger
If i'm finding the the mission first few mission fights difficult does that just mean playing the campaign i'm going to get rekt?
What are the most unbalanced ship mods that I should stay away from?
How can I tell if I accessability is too low? Is it just a matter of checking for shortages/deficits?
Approlight, Red/Blue, DME, Neutrino.
Also Diable Avionics since it's vastly underpowered.
>DME
No can do, chief. I love them shits.
Allright, guess I'll give it a whirl. Does it need extra factions or other stuff to work right, or can I just slap only Nex on my game and stick with the vanilla factions?
>I love using a crutch
Different strokes etc
How do you play Approlight? Their transport ships are pretty dope but rest of their ships seems quite underwhelming
Buzzword. Sorry.
Easy. You don't.
Which mod are they from and what and where exit did you edit it.
>Which mod are they from
DME
Enjoy getting embargo'd by everything from a empire to your grandmothers book club if it has an agenda. 70% of my wars ended up being because the established empires are colossal jews and assholes that got upset I am muscling in on the market.
I'm a retard and can't decide should I sell blueprints or use them myself? Selling blueprints worth 500k make me drool, but on the other hand the ships that I can manufacture later on from those same blueprints make me drool as well.
Decide for me pls
Yes but what did you edit in faction file so you could recover their ships.
>reeee look at the ship stats
And this is why nobody take you seriously faggot, the only ship that would be considered OP would be the jeanne d'arc carrier which is mobile enough to kite nearly all other capital ships and has a good enough shield to handle anything that can catch up to it (and i wont even mention the instant recall, that shit's strong), the other capital ship is just an oversized cruiser whose gimmick become obsolete once everything is surveyed
In fact DME ship catalog is extremely lackluster, you'll need a lot of the only tanker model available as well as the average freighter to maintain the fleet, this mean that more than half of your fleet need to be non-combatants to maintain mobility
What give you the impression that they are OP isn't the ship, it's the arsenal
DME has the best fighter/bomber across both base game and mods, and this is also thanks to the use of DME's "higly specialized" weaponry, if you don't believe that : take a banshee class from neutrino, slap 3 jongleur esad barrage on it, then fire it all once a dreadnought's shield is down
Watch as the PD get overwhelmed, the armor melt after 3 missiles and the ship get deleted from existence from the rest of the volley
Did i mention each launch 9 missiles, and you have 96 in total for each barrage launcher ?
Want to remove shield ? Voltigeur spam, some of the fighters have those too
Next time you bitch about DME, at least use an actual argument instead of the mongrelite and erroneous "HURR SHIP ARE OP" rhetoric
You're asking the wrong guy, mate
Just sell. By the time you get to manufacturing ships you can probably breeze through the game anyway.
500k is nothing, senpai. You'll be making millions easily later on, and those blueprints will come in handy.
How's Interstellar Imperium?
One of the best mods you can get.
Is the Sunstorm PDE from BNlackrock mod just better than other large energy weapons or is it just me?
The whole ultra-nationalist Roman aesthetic doesn't seem particularly fitting with the established lore...
If you give a shit about the lore that much then have fun installing kitbash mods and bloating the game.
I prefer piloting actual fun ships.
It's probably just me but in my headcannon the game actually plays in the Age of Strife from 40k
In that case, should I also use Knights Templar? Their ships look fun as shit
It's not updated for 0.9.1a.
What.
I'm retarded. My bad.
Is that communist faction mod?
It's a shame, though. Templar ships were indeed fun as fuck to pilot and fight against. Although I liked helping them out and antagonizing everyone else in the sector.
They really should improve the resolution of the ships. So many of them look like garbage when zoomed in.
Anyone else dislike the ugly ass Cabal ships?
Redpill me on the Archean Order. Is it good enough to warrant playing only it or should I get some good mods instead? I dislike the static galaxy so I was thinking about Nex and more options for money making without having a colony, like mining.
It is garbage tier.
Ended up selling most of them. A few I used.
>be anprim jihadist
>use FTL spaceships
First time playing Nex. Is making your own faction worth it, or am I better off picking a faction I like and sticking with them?
Kek
Welcome to space communist Ukraine.
What are some underrated faction/ship mods?
Looks like an asscheek.
There are penises flying out of it designed to buttfuck everything that moves.
how about this
First campaign here, what tree should i spend my first few character points in?
Diable avionic for sure, neutrino if you make a conscious effort to use neither the banshee/norn classes nor the maul class
Looks like a fucking Sega Game Gear.
Or in my case, lose a fully armed to the death Onslaught vs 4 frigates. And have a AI controlled Onslaught devastate 4x it's deployment points worth of my fleet.
Salvage first, followed by Helmsmanship
The Caesar is really fucking fun though. You can shoot lighting that sends smaller ships flying around like missiles. You have the equivalent to a Halo MAC system that does 2k splash damage.
I got mine to do a full vent in 6 seconds.
if you wanna smuggle navigation and sensors are really important. trnsverse jumping is amazing and sensors straight up doubles go dark effectiveness
What are some good portrait mods that aren't just weebshit? Also I'd like it if they weren't super inconsistent
You're on Yea Forums, so it makes sense you're dead on the inside and hate fun. You probably watch other people play Minecraft.
Is the colony building experience comfy in this game?
Yes. But you also have an option that allows factions to respawn after a while.
Big fights, never AI. Fights or chases against super fast ships? Always AI.
Doesn't matter if you're chasing a ship going at Mach 60000, the AI will manage to kill it with a space brick.
I have another that I started and then dropped midway. General shape is this, the details are still missing.
What did you modify in their faction file?
back to discord tranny
Degenerate cumguzzling jew fredo
yes, if you do it right
your people should have many colonies per system, with many military bases, so that the whole system is flooded with your dudes
then, you should be producing your own ships and they should be good ships, so that your fleets are full of fucking capital ships and shit
in the beginning and forever if you don't build up enough defenses, you'll be constantly fighting off pirates
the only uncomfy thing is having to play whack a mole with the pirate bases that pop up around your shit
I'm seeing a district lack of rape tentacles or daemonic abominations during my hyperspace travels.
we need mods for this, clearly
we already have bombardment of colonies, a space dystopian setting, and ramshackle shitboat ships
someone needs to add in warhammer content. i want to fly a castle and perform exterminatus on luddites.
Pick a faction for a commission. Later on when you've got a good fleet and a mil in your wallet you should start up a colony.
Hard mode: Abandon your commission when you start the colony.
>Fight Remnant Ordo for sweet Alpha Cores
>game crashes as I beat them
TUSKETE KURE!!!
What's wrong with Banshee or Norn?
>when you realize the imperium targeting package stacks with the increase range hullmod
>takes out hull from a billion yards
not who you're replying to but neutrino is fucking busted
their shit is overpowered as all fuck imo i imagine the banshee and norn are just even more overpowered than the rest of their shit
Banshee is an incredible missile ship
Banshee Norn has a shit weapon layout (combined with the even shittier neutrino weapon selection for small and medium slot) but can be extremely tanky due to a efficient shield and the regenerative neutrino armor addon
Maul has 3 large slot (the only slot with decent neutrino weapon) and the siege mode which double the range of all gun for a few seconds
Mammut a shit, jackhammer ai act like a carrier, hildofr is slow as fuck, has shit shield, has shit armor, cost a shitload of point only to get beaned by 2-3 frigates or a goddamn pirate colossus
You can still make it work tho'
Diable avionic can't handle damage on their own, using the more mobile ship design rather than the fucking pandemonium'n'co. can provide good results
How is my flagship?
Should i do something differently?
So how exactly do the Atlas Mk.II and the Prometheus Mk.II handle? I gather that they're inferior to other capitals, but for someone still struggling to build up that first million to start colonizing, are they a worthwhile investment? Or are they just memeshit that only the AI can pull off through sheer numbers?
ALRIGHT Yea Forums
How would you improve the ecolony mechanics?
How to take down bounties?
Is Diable worth just for carriers and their mechas?
Also, what about Neutrino's TheEND-class carrier? It looks good and can phase cloak. Is it worth using my colony to shit one out?
Atlas 2 works fine as a gun and missile boat.
Prometheus 2 though, seems to work best as a tank, before you got anyhting better to use to tank damage.
So consider them as your first battleships that help you slug it out with bigger ships that you can either try and salvage into becoming parts of your fleet, or get enough money to buy some better things.
Have a total indicator on the side for industries so that I know exactly what I need to be 100% self-sufficient. Otherwise the economy system is fine.
Pretty new to the game, I looted a destroyer with a large energy slot but I can't seem to find any guns to put there. Who sells them?
>orbital station finally fully upgraded to Fuck off pirate fucking Shits
>heavy industry being built, nanoforges ready
Soooooooooon my beautiful paragon blueprints, soooon.
>there are actually people who pirated this fucking game
t. Alex
tri tachyon jews like energy weapons, try them
>just learned about battle size slider
I wonder how big of a fleet I can make with messing with the ini settings before my pc Shits itself
Also are they ever going to let us have multiple fleets?
What file is it that has the battle size anyways? I feel like upping it past 500 now.
Wanzers are interesting
Never could get my hands on a theEND carrier, so i can't really tell you if they are worth it or not.
Why does it not have any flags if it's a flagship?
settings.ini
you can also do lots of fun totally balanced things, like change it so planets can have more than 4 industries because why the fuck would they only have 4 industries.
I used Sseth's code and the download off their own website to try it out. Haven't gotten to that just yet.
If I like it I'll buy it and if it's still too green I might wait a while until I do that.
Dunno, i doulcn't find any.
The game is unfinished. No shit people aren't paying for a demo
>.ini
Is a .json specifically but thanks bro. Now I just want to know if there's a way to expand the map size itself. I saw something for sectors but I assume that's the system maps.
I found one as a derelict while following around their fleet during a 9th Battlegroup raid.
It's definitely good looking, it's just the AI insists on using it like just a carrier instead of using all it's armaments.
I'd pilot it myself but I'm retarded when it comes to using carriers.
should i colonize the rest of the system?
Help, I have no idea what this means or where the bug cane from.
Here's a guide to carriers
>select target
>press z
>watch as i dies if you use op fighters
>press z again to recover fighters if you lost any
>repeat
Same issue as the jackhammer then, fucking ai want to stay so far behind that even the siege mode isn't giving enough range for the built-in laser cannon
As if being slow as shit wasn't infuriating enough
Can this be fixed by using reckless officers? I'd rather that than them pussyfooting like they currently are.
>Press Z
>A couple specific fighters from mods just won't stop hovering around you like bees despite having good engagement range
>You also have nothing but those because they seem cool and they were available
Shit sucks
Basically the pattern used to format a string is incorrect (possibly missing a "%" in front of the "s"). Report the bug.
>twice as much hull/armor as Astral, more flux, more dissipation, better shield, free hullmods
You forgot to add
>You need to find the imperium mods, which are extremely rare and they cost a decent chunk of the ship's OP
>The matriarch's shield arc is very small, even if its stronger
>Its a fucking slow ship that takes ages to reach anywhere
>If the fight goes wrong, you can't evacuate this ship due to how slow it is.
>ship is OP
>b-b-but you can't r-run a-a-away!
PICK
TARGET
You're one dumb nigger if you cannot even read the entire post.
Yeah, but I'm playing a heavily modded game, so I'm not sure which mod did it, so I guess I'll just have to find it myself. I suspect it's translated Approlight again.
Fug im retarded wrong id.
Pick target first.
I assume it had something to do with the ai conflict that caused the collapse, for all we know all the old domain sectors are dominated by toasters and they are trying to reactivate the gate network and purge the rest of the meat bags.
I assume the ring network was destroyed as a last ditch attempt at preventing a total loss of life.
But who the Fuck knows, I like that this game doesn't have shit to do with earth and there's no alien/alien ruins that advanced humanity.
>implying I don't press R on any fucker I'm even thinking of engaging first or whoever's closest
I literally never have R not on someone
I mean we ASSUME it was a conflict, if anything, it's the domain using your sector as the Australia of the universe and sending in all the backwards thinking Luddites before locking them in. Hell, even the "Remnants" are just looking for their "Omega" who is basically their Admin, they aren't even out to kill, they're put to persevere and if they have to kill some Intruders, so be it.
Then stop using support fighters.
and is slow as fuck, needs dedicated support because it has very few decent weapon slots and it definitely has to stay near the start of the combat map, reducing its effective range massively.
Dilate, have sex and dab on haters.
You're still a nigger coping with the use of OP shit.
Hold on, do support fighters only hang around close to the carrier? I'm fairly sure though some of the ones I had the problem with weren't classified as support.
Read their description or names. There are fighters that can only stay near ship theyre on.And yes, they're called support for a reason.
Gas giant and the 150% world are good. The rest are shit, but even shit will eventually make money if you are willing to wait.
>slow
Oh, yeah, 25 speed instead of 30 on Astral is a real deal breaker. Totally balances everything out.
>Omega is just Tri-Tach's founder's edgy username
>the full form of Omega is Xx_0mega69_xX
>the nobody else can tell because the AI always "say" Omega, never type
Tri-Tach boss trying to eradicate the sector because of Luddic Path Cells bothering him too much confirmed
look, you haven't played with the ship, so you can't really say anything until you've used it.
It's numerically superior to its closest vanilla equivalent, how will playtesting change that?
One I remember in particular is the ARS Duke gunboat and it's not considered a support fighter even if I tick off the Support class filter below. It would never travel more than 5 feet from my carrier.
What's a good Tempest loadout?
2 phase lances and a torpedo of your choice. Use the flux dissipation hull mod and the one that makes manual venting faster. Oneshots most frigates. AI can be a bit dumb with high burst weapons, so you may want to give them autopulse lasers instead.
because numbers aren't everything. for example, the astral completely rapes the matriatch because the astral can teleport the bombers, and its 360 shield, makes the matriarch's fighters useless.
Seconding this!
>buy bunch of stuff
>check which planet it sells highest with f1
>fly to said planet
>there is no market for trading
Shit game uninstalled
Any other unimaginative kitbashed garbage mods like SWP and Varya's I should avoid, fellow modbros? I want my game to be an unrecognizable mess of at least 20 different art styles, fuck crazy vanilla purists.
just get a mod that replaces all profiles with smug anime girls
All of them.
dum dum lol, probably trying to trade with the faction you are at war with
But all anime girls have the exact same fish face, that's not 20 styles!
Multiplayer version when
>tfw I really try to like this game but it's just too difficult for me

Can you start an organ harvesting operation in this game
How can it be difficult if it's literally impossible to lose?
It's impossible to lose in mountain blade too, doesn't make it easy.
>engage pirate orbital station
>carriers deploy their smokers and they zip ahead of the main force
>by the time I'm actually in viewing distance the fighters have blown off a section of the hull
>before my ships even stop their burn and raise shields the station explodes entirely from fighters/bombers
Well, that's a first.
Can i play as necron type race this game
Can i play as a hive mind type race in this game
Yup
My advice is let the auto pilot do the work, if you are still losing its a problem with your fleet or you are engaging targets way above your weight class. I've got maybe twenty hours in and I still only control my ship when the battles mostly over or when I see a free venting situation. Otherwise I'm over rousing or positioning my ship wrong and it gets reamed.
humans only, xenocuck
No, the game only has humans because the dev doesn't like aliens in sci-fi. And there aren't mods that add aliens either because mod police bans them from the official forum.
I will now pirate your game
Not really. If you make one of your colonies a free port you will automatically gain and sell harvested organs from the population but that's all.
>And there aren't mods that add aliens either because mod police bans them from the official forum.
The fuck...?
In the Emperor's name, you disgust me
>two orbital habitats and a research station in the same system
If your mod doesn't comply with what the modding clique considers "canon", it gets removed.
>complaining about animu officers when you can have this qt commanding an Onslaught

NPC fleets don't have XIV vaiants in them, and Onslaughts can't spawn as derelicts. You've bought that shit from a military market, you comissioned hegecuck.
>NPC fleets don't have XIV vaiants in them
yes they can
OH FUCK
Why be a pathetic hegecuck when you could be a noided Tri-Tachyon (Death Yon) genius
>implying
Humans only xeno suck Fuck off.
What kind of fucked up cult mentality is that?
It's a mod, if someone doesn't like it they can simply not use it.
how do you get pirates to use blueprints and AI cores? asking for a friend
Wish there was a midline bomber that had harpoons. After Lightning getting a rework nothing has one.
>dude mods
I mean in vanilla.
Sell blueprints on black market
Cores, do pirates ever use cores?
if you sell blueprints on the black market pirates will get a hold of them and start using those ships
i don't think they use Ai though
even if they had cores they probably wouldn't know how to use them
There can be derelict blade breaker ships that are hidden around. You never get derelicts from combat with them but you can still find some. Just make sure not to wipe out all 3 guardians in a system (near the Sigma world) or blade breaker fleets vanish for good. I usually keep at least one active so I can farm blade breaker weaponry.
i mean there is a mod to turn everyone into smug anime girls but aliens would be out of canon
makes sense
onslaughts and XIV versions can spawn as derelicts like anything else
not worth to waste an industry slot while you can get the regular mining which is more profit
But i wanna strip all living matter off of a planet with tiny scarubs then go to sleep and be a slow moving robo race :(
>brokenly OP
No they're not. If you're talking about OP in players hands then that can be said of almost everything. I use their cruisers without fighter wing because they're about the only cruisers in any mod that don't get absolutely fucking wrecked in end game battles.
I sold them directly to the pirates themselves but its still there, do they need to have a heavy industry to be used?
The closest to a "xeno" race are the modded borken, "humans" from an alternative universe and whose ships have psychic tentacles
There is also the crystal ships mod, but it's not updated to the latest version of starsector
I'm gonna guess that the hard-cap on industries being set at 3 means that the random trinkets you get from tech-mining just aren't worth it.
Even if there's a small chance for blueprints. Least I think there was a chance for blueprints...
This thing is completely broken. i love it.
stop this heresy at once
tech mining is used to get free stuff like blueprints and random weapons for a month or two then you just swap it to something else
it literally pays itself
If you have the room for colonies and find vast ruins on an otherwise shit world, it's worth making the colony and building tech mine and nothing else until it dries up, then fold the colony.
go back to somethingawful you pathetic troon
I like the carrier concept, will this game placate my swarm-autism?
What exactly is that one from? I remember a Cathedral before that was a large round ring mostly. Is that just the new version?
That looks like something from Warhammer 40k
I've personally owned the game since 2015 and it was through Yea Forums I found it, shut the fuck up you absolute mongoloid.
But its cool user dont you wanna have a sleepover in my floting pyramid with dual link gause cannons and tesla coils?
Is ther a win condition/end to the game?
Nuetrino (I think) literally has swarm drones. I imagine if you get 6 of those on a single carrier that it would, in fact, be some form of autism
any mod for bigger galaxy?
Yeah, carriers are some of the most effective ships in the game. Ai doesn't really handle fighting a Fuck ton of fighters all at once very well.
so is going for a carrier only fleet a good idea?
Any mods that a new player should consider to make general play more enjoyable?
Yes, its the new cathedral and now it is a real moving space station that can be destroyed part by part.
I can't stand using these in combat but holy shit the amount of fleet support is unreal.
I think its from the ships & weapons pack.
Whew that's peak aesthetic I like that a lot.
Got rekt by my high-tech tier 2 orbital. gg no re.
What is the appeal of Star Sector when games like X3 exist ? It's basically the same but in 3D, prettier and with a storyline.
It's the capital ship of Luddic Church in Ships/Weapons pack. Works like an orbital station, with modules and shit.
what's x3?
X3 is menu cancer and I'd wager most people have long since got bored of X3 and its extras.
Probably. Assault carriers can be equipped with decent weaponry as well so they aren't just space hangers. I like missile boats with my fighter streams.
EVERYONE IS SENDING EXPEDITIONS AFTER ME
THERE ARE PIRATE AND LUDDITE BASES BUILT EVERY WEEK
IT'S TOO MUCH HOW DO I SLOW THINGS DOWN
I found that the ship works the best as a missile carrier because you don't really want to lose any of the modules it has, specially the engine module.
I like this game a lot, kinda surprised. Imma pay for it and probably start buying up some more games featuring space exploration/combat. I still need to play Homeworld remastered.
No, the carriers themselves can't handle direct confrontation, you'll need some screening or else the enemy ai will just rush you
>assault carriers can't handle direct confrontation
Wut.
he clearly said carriers
Does fleet composition matter at all or can I take a doughnut and a bnuch of carriers into battle and just swarm each ship one by one?
yes and no
>What is the appeal of Star Sector when games like X3 exist ?
The X series are "EVE offline"
Starsector is more akin to mount&blade
Is a Salvage Rig worth getting early game?
And the assault carrier is not a carrier?
>start your colony far from the core
>on your run out you didn't get enough fuel to return to the core
>start running low on supplies and have no fuel
>just as you are about to run out of supplies pirates show up
>they trickle in for a while allowing me to rapidly build up a stock of fuel and supplies
I love pirates.
salvage gantries effect the quantity but not the quality of salvage, so you want cargo space before investing in them
Look it up, there's X3: Reunion, Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude, then the failure that is X: Rebirth and the even bigger failure that is X4: Foundations. X3: Terran Conflict with mods is great though, basically a 4x game but you play it from pilot/captains perspective, usually start as a simple fighter pilot or trader and eventually end up building a trade empire of your own factories and stations and fleets.
Your patrols should handle expeditions on their own if you build your colonies right.
Islamists are cancer, but if you destroy their base you have exactly one year before they start their bullshit again.
Pirate activity just fucking sucks. No matter how strong your patrols are you get the penalty, and destroying their base just means a new one will spawn a week later. Just don't bother and take the -1 stability as granted.
no, carrier and battlecarrier are different categories
that sounds cool, i'll look into it
Can i start an organ harvesting operation?
Get drone tenders instead. They have salvage gantries and surveying equipment but are useful in combat too in early game.
Assault carrier sacrifice a bit of their carrier capacity for not being a shot piñata, however the user inquired if pure drone swarm carrier only would be possible
The Barricade looks cool as fuck. Anyone ever used it before?
Er, not really. You can start peddling your own illicit spaceweed though.
good enough
Where do I find research stations? I've scoured every black hole and neutron star in my sector and only found 7. I need some damn blueprints, the best ships my colonies can produce are some shitty shadowyards light cruisers.
>games been in development for ten fucking years
It feels like its at a point somebody should just buy them out and spend a year fleshing it out and adding a story and you would have a winner on your hands.
>Where do I find research stations? I've scoured every black hole and neutron star in my sector and only found 7.
Sounds like you found them
>I need some damn blueprints
Those also drop from ruins on planets. Also, go raid some planets.
Starting to get real tired of these pirates. Any way I can get my colonies to deal with them?
Counterpoint :
>Kenshi
Just give it some time, it's a miracle the game hasn't been abandoned yet
>changing hands of devs to what are most likely going to be a bunch of morons and suits who don't understand what makes anything good
How about no. It's just a tiny team of what, 3 or 4 guys on their spare time? All they'd need possibly is more time and maybe some more hands to put towards development but at the same time certain ideas or designs may not be thought of if you change how it goes.
What are some faction mods that aren't completely fucking unbalanced? Diable looks good but also looks broken as all fuck compared to vanilla shit.
>I dont know shit
>so here's my view and now spoonfeed me
Read the thread first
Every time Starsector gets it's once-per-year update I feel this too. It's got a great combat system but Alex has completely failed to make the game actually playable even after 9 entire years.
>No enjoyable quests or story
>Nothing fun to find exploring
>Economy has been terribad and broken since release, no sign of ever changing
>Colonies finally out which is gr8, but extremely lacking in options, no actual drug production, illegal organ harvesting rings, no map influencing buildings, etc
>No outposts/station construction
>No supply chains or any way of managing other fleets that belong to you
I feel like X3 had similar problems. I just want a space game like this to be good for once
The Remnants didn't exist before the collapse. The AI wars never happened until the collapse happened.
Don't bother with faction mods if you care about balance. With each and every one you will get a retard like defending it and telling you how it's "more balanced" than vanilla (i.e. in vanilla some ships are overpowered compared to others, in the best mod ever ALL ships are overpowered compared to them).
I've seen people shit on that Dassault faction mod because its supposed to unbalanced. In my all Nexerelin campaigns so far they have gotten absolutely destroyed by vanilla factions, especially by Hegemony. Maybe the AI can't use their supposedly OP ships.
My main problem is that combat is the most fun part of the game, but also the least rewarding and the most risky one. It feels like you have to grind economy so you can buy a fleet to throw away for fun and then it's back to grinding again, unless you want to savescum. For a first time player there is no way to tell which battle is fair to take, and the punishment for trial and error is 3 hours of grinding money to get your ships back.
hopefully the ssethtide will being enough new bodies to the game that we can have some modders fix some of this shit besides nex and the few faction mods that add quests.
how do you get custom pictures for commanders?
AI autosolve straight up doesnt ''use'' anything, ships have numbers attached to them instead.
I've stolen two worlds from Tri Tachyon by raiding them and parking my fleet on orbit to scare away supply fleets until their colonies descend to anarchy and beg me to save them.
Yo guys, best loadout for Sunderer?
There is slave trade. You should try X3 terran conflict with new horizons mod.
Portrait packs installed like other mods.
They don't stand up to player fleets with Hegemony tech either.
this is a bad meme, even with the mods i've yet to find anything that can beat a paragon with tachyon lances. Most of the mod ships look broken but are underwhelming. They do add alot of options to weapons if you can't acquire tachyons for w/e reason.
the overpowered part of the dassault mod comes in when you start collecting bladebreaker weapons and ships. That being said those cunts travel in packs of 20 fleets and make the remnant look like a fucking joke
>mfw Imperial hullmod packages actually have special bonuses depending on the ship used
Now that's some good cool shit I didn't expect.
There is still something wrong with their faction, even if that autoresolve thing doesnt count their ship superiority. Because I have yet to see a game where they don't get their shit pushed in by vanilla factions.
I gotta admit that taking that Blade Breaker start with their "supership" was fun. That thing is a beast.
Any reason the Galatia music mod only plays during the title screen? I get the new tracks there but never anywhere else at all. Downloaded 1.4 using some user's link last thread and it has all the tracks in its files but they just aren't playing in combat/hyperspace/star systems.
Exploring isn't that bad for now, compared to shit like No Mans Sky where every turd you land on is filled to the brim with shit to find, I like the fact that there's a lot of dead ends. It makes finding that remnant mothership/Alpha core filled derelict all the more satisfying. It does need a way to trade legitimately though and still make $$$ other than having to rely on random bar deliveries. The tarrif system definitely needs to be abolished either through high enough reputation or by allowing trading comissions seperate from combat and allow you to be comissioned to trade between multiple factions who aren't hostile to eachother (surely this can be done by just adding an origin tag for that ware?). Station outposts that don't require a planet would be nice, and I can see that being added in future. Same for a proper mission board system. Supply chains you can do by just making a waystation only colony, and if station outposts get added that would solve that. You can technically produce drugs and organs by making your colony a freeport, but yeah it would be nice if you could be the bad guy and actually choose to focus on those. Organ harvesting should be an explicit option when raiding etc for a bigger reputation hit with those who care about it. Right now my biggest complaints are the way the game doesn't take into account just how much you've wrecked a factions fleets when calculating if they should be full retard and send yet another billion creds worth of ships at you.
i'd say fleet comp matters but bigger stick wins even if your fleet is dogshit
like, here's a thought:
if you're gonna do carriers, do missiles, too. then, their pd is working twice as hard. do lots of missiles. do swarmers, and lots of them - the large ones. and then, do reapers on top of that, so that they can't focus the reapers down and they're forced to eat shit every time one of your dipshit ai fires a reaper off.
i'd take a lot of carriers with pilums and salamanders and swarmers with a small strike team of frigates with reapers. then, identify the ship or ships that might actually pose a threat, and tell your frigates to murder it with their reapers.
The remnants are what's remaning in your sector of the ai after the gate fell you donkey. It's why its fucking called that.
Based af
If you have ship/weapon pack too you can get yourself a UCHU SENKAN YAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAATOOOOOOOOOO through IBB.
this
tariffs overly reward smuggling. i should be able to be a peaceful trader if i want to be, even though that'd be boring as fuck. it'd be nice to be able to do that for some extra income when you've got a gigantic fleet that can't really smuggle shit because it can't hide, but has enough cargo space to justify trading in low-margin shit like organics and food and ore.
also, yes. i would love some rimworld-ass warcrimes. i'd love to enslave populations, and i'd also love to be able to fight off slavers and repatriate slaves. i would love to be a straight up firefly reaver and fly around causing mayhem and specifically genociding people, but you can't really do that much damage even with orbital bombardment. there's not quite enough of a moral punch.
Oh, well that doesn't seem like a fair assessment when Blade Breaker are supposed to be a "boss" faction I thought, I mean they stick to their own space and kind of exist just as a little challenge with their own sigma systems that don't intrude on anything else.
You mean the Sparrowhawk? That thing is pound for pound the most OP ship I've come across and a great solo ship for early/midgame. It doesn't have alpha strike power vs anything bigger than frigates but definitely has the endurance to take down even an onslaught 1v1.
>Keeps happening for every Remnant Ordo and even the Nexus but only after the fight and clicking the "Pick through the wreckage" option
Man this sucks, how the fuck am I supposed to get AI cores like this.
Whuch part of the faction part do i need to change to make blade breaker ships salvageble.
What mod adds the Nexus? Where is it?
Huh. Apparently earth died super early in humanities expanse according to the lore. Also the Persean system is really fucking far from the sol system.
Nice. Do the IBB bounties ever go above the 500k mark? I've facerolled everything (with the exception of phase fleet) I've come across so far and got a trillion bucks worth of restored custom ships to work on, but I've never seen this ship.
Yeah, Sparrowhawk. I don't even want to fight those Blade Breaker fleets with multiple ships of those. Remnants are total pushovers compared to them.
IDK myself since i didnt get it too yet.But it's there because i checked files myself.
Remnant nexusesusues's are vanilla. I just blew one up last night and got two alpha cores put of it.
Remnant Nexus? I think that's vanilla, it's just the Remnant "Orbital Station". You'll need to beat it before you can clear high danger systems of the rest of the Remnants.
>tariffs overly reward smuggling. i should be able to be a peaceful trader if i want to be, even though that'd be boring as fuck
Generally, games like this encourage opportunistic trading rather than dedicated merchant lyfe.
Tariffs being removed entirely would just make trading better, but it wouldn't solve the issue of the economy system being so fucked. It's so bad that the universe can almost literally run out of money before it does any commodity.
Tariffs should get lower the more rep you get.
Could it have something to do with the Sierra Core questline?
Huh, according to the lore I might actually be right. Gates were either taken down as a defensive measure to stop the spread of ai orrrrr the omega ai did it to Fuck humanity into pockets and then purge sectors individually. Neato.
I'm pretty sure I read that dev considered legit trading with no drawbacks a borderline exploit lol. Because coding your pirates to notice profitable trading routes and then camping on those lines is apparently too difficult.
>ultrakekkers
You need a cd key.
I think Blade Breaker ships are resistant to certain weapon types though I forget which, you need a specific loadout to fuck them over easier.
you faggots are going to make me buy this game at this rate
pshh, nothing personnel
Watch Sseth's video for a free key. If you like it, buy it.
This is 100% approlight, look at the stack trace, this is caused by AL_Campaign_Manager.java. And the error is, in the translation, one of the lines has an extra "%s". Link me to the mod and translation mod you're using and I'll find it for you.
>find a legion
>it's unrecoverable
Damn it feels good to mow through pirate fleets
I just bought a Paragon and a second Astral, they killed over 20 Atlas without taking damage
Is it actually useful to build a commerce on your colonies?
Legion derelicts spawn everywhere, you'll find another soon enough
Do you have audio plus installed? Because those two conflict and in my experience the audio plus mod took priority
Really wish they had put a mod priority option in the launcher
>he doesn't know
Are their ships recoverable at least?
Keep looking in the nearby systems. Each map seed spawns 3-6 unrecoverable Legions AND 2-4 recoverable ones, they are all in the same constellation cluster, 1 per system.
Having a market is convenient, but otherwise a waste of slot. The market is owned by independents, by the way, and they collect tariffs from it, not you.
My bank is going to deny purchases on that BMT site so fucking hard and im not dealing with that shit.
Put your game on a proper fucking service like Steam or GOG if you want people to buy you fucking retard.
>enter a system just lazy with derelict ships every where
>none worth a shit
>spend like an hour scouring the sector finding patches of floating ships all worth dick all
>steam
user....
>someone taking tariffs from my colonies
Not today you don't
>The market is owned by independents, by the way, and they collect tariffs from it, not you.
excuse me?
what the fuck?
why?
I generally buy games that I enjoyed. I got few hundreds hours out of Startsector, so when they actually start selling it, I'll buy it.
>like the look of Paragon find a derelict Onslaught first
>end up ruling vanilla with my 4 Onslaughts of the apocalypse backed by Herons and can't bring myself to drop to lower kill speed Paragons
>decide to try mods
>just find better weapons to slap on my 4 Onslaughts of the Apocalypse
Is really no other ship with the same dakka and armor tank?
>Put your game on a proper fucking service like Steam or GOG
or Epic.
So you can exchange goods for money with a third party. You can't really "sell" things to your colonies, you already own them.
>why?
Fuck if i know, ask alex.
>letting a bank tell you what you can do with your money
>only buying games from services that demand a cut
Alex is selling the game himself and Epic only accepts exclusive indies.
Why are you not collecting tax off sales on your land?
Read the tooltip description.
Install nex mod, choose to start as pirate.
No, there's derelict Breaker ships you can recover though, just need to be sneaky and look around their systems, sometimes far from the centre. They're a faction that's supposed to be a challenge to fight against when you're OP, not to make you OP.
>can't sell shit to your colony and get the tariffs flowing back to your pockets instead of added on top of the price to line someone else's
that's shit dude
If you sell a blueprint to an open or military market of a faction, do they start using it just like pirates will when sold on the blackmarket?
honestly, none of the stores benefit him due to the tariffs (lol) the markets have. Remember that steam has a 30% cut, epic has a 22% one and GOG should fall along those lines.
People say that they do. I never sold any blueprints to black markets, and my pirates are using a Neutrino ship.
Well have I got news for you! BMT will also let you pay with Paypal! There is literally no excuse.
Well, officially, taxes are payments to the side that provides roads, security, etc, usually the government. Roads aren't a thing in space and I guess indies guard their convoys themselves. Doesn't make much sense anyway, but whatever.
easy money
The benefit is increased exposure. Selling 1000 copies for $10 each is worse than selling 10000 for $7 each.
>Doesn't make much sense anyway
Was there any need to say anything else?
easy life
he's literally said it's coming to steam when it's finished
>Steam has a 30% cut
>tariffs in game are precisely 30%
This can't be a coincidence.
do you all play this game to destroy ships and increase your cyberwallet?
I've done all the tutorial and now I have nothing else to do
>hurr it's a sandbox do what you want
but what can I do?
Why is there scaling difficulty in this game? Any way to turn that down?
When I had literally zero fighters in my fleet, every single probe had 1 to 3 low tier ships. When I got two falcons, every probe has the same 3 medium, about 6 low tier ships. When I got a Heron, they started having a medium-large, mediums and low tiers.
That just ruins the whole exploration part of the game for me.
new to the game here, so... how exactly are you supposed to handle fights? All I'm doing is to brainlessly click attack on the grid map, and I have no idea how to control a single ship.
>epic
get the fuck out fortnite kid
yeah, but i don't think that will happen in...maybe two or three years, that is if 1.0.0 is the "final" version.
Fair enough.
Anyone else find colonies to be a huge money sink that's requires too much babysitting?
Should i?
1. Go around salvaging debris
2. Go around exploring shit once you have enough cash and supplies
3. Take bounties to hunt down pirates
'Bout it for early-mid game.
you don't need to give any commands, the AI is reliable enough to handle itself
Probes, bounties and some other stuff don't scale with your fleet, they scale with the number of missions of that type you've completed. Every time you destroy a probe, all other probes get stronger. You even get a message about it, if you pay attention, about the dying probe sending some signal to space.
I can swear patrol fleets in faction systems and pirates scale with your fleet, but that might also be wrong.
No. Once you get an industry going it should be nothing but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Which is exactly how they were in real life, and there's no reason to assume space colonies would be any different.
no
look, i'm against Epic's measures to gain a foothold in the market, but most of the features that epic lacks don't benefit starsector at all, and as long as starsector doesn't need epic running in the background, i wouldn't really mind that the game gets sold there.
Kinda? My colonies make 500k/month at this point, but I've probably invested around 10kk in them to begin with. Think of it as securing your money. Your big dick fleet can be destroyed or eat through supplies, and you can lose money when you lose your fleet, etc, but if you get a colony going, those 500k/month are yours forever.
>first colony shit i built was heavy industry
did i fuck up already?
You control one ship, your own, with WASD. Hold shift at all times in battle and use mouse to aim. If you want to give commands to others, select them on the map and right click.
Are there stations or planets scripted to be undestructible/ungenocidable no matter how many times you raid them, bombard them, attack them, and blow them up?
Asking for a friend
You should. A single Onslaught is enough to protect your colony and jumpstart you into the lategame of infinite money.
So what do I actually have to do if I get a commission? Am I expected to hunt pirates every time they ring me up or something?
Adding to this whole tariff thing, I think it would be cool if the rep was also a bit more dynamic. Instead of being a hard binary "Oh, you have >50 rep, here's a smaller tariff", it would be cool if the faction that runs the particular market would give higher or lower tariffs based on things you've done. The Hegemony for example hates the fuck out of AI. If you are "suspected" of using AI cores on your colonies the tariffs they impose on you directly could suspiciously become higher. It would also be interesting to see tariffs and diplomacy/reputation in general play a bigger role on colony management. I want to tax the fuck out of the biggest buyers of my exports if they want to keep sending terror fleets to my colony to disrupt it. They could do the same to me and tax the fuck out of the stuff I import from them to sustain my colony, which would just further incentivize colony management and keeping everything in-faction.
isn't there a way to lock the shift move?
Nothing, but you get some extra money for each enemy frigate you take down
Don't worry about giving orders. Just control your own ship (or press U and let AI control it if you suck). The only orders you should worry about giving as a noob are to retreat a ship from combat if you get a warning that its combat readiness is so low it will malfunction.
yikes, I see. Thanks. I guess I was wrong but also slightly correct.
No, it's perfect, provided you have a forge. Get a patrol HQ and an orbital station next.
Yes, there is, it's in the config, but I can't unlearn holding shift at all times, and I actually derive pleasure from doing that now.
LADS LADS
I JUST FOUND MY FIRST PARAGON CLASS
IN A LOW THREAT BEACON SYSTEM
Are tachyon lances any good, it had two (along with two paladin PD systems)
should I swap my starting ship with one of those wolf ships thatt can blink?
Is free start recommended in Nex? I don't really want to be a part of a faction, but I'm also still learning the game (20 hours in).
Start with a volatiles/fuel colony. Slap a Synchrotron on that bad boy and make it a free port, then lie back and watch that fucker print money, crew, and fuel for you. You caneither have an easier time playing the fleet game or colonizing further worlds with that.
Get an an Alpha Core on the refinery once your money scheme is full ongoing. Hegemony fleets can be bribed for pocket change.
Nah, for some reason import dont cost anything
However if you can keep it in-faction (preferably in-system too), trade routes are unlikely to get disrupted, assuming you set up patrol hq on all your colonies
>letting a bank tell you what you can do with your money
I'd have to call them to approve the purchase
>or Epic.
I said proper service.
>There is literally no excuse.
There is, it's Paypal.
