Random Nexerelin worlds or handcrafted vanilla+mod worlds?

the general has been purged in case you were wondering

Didn't know there was one. One too many general threads spammed with softcore hentai kinda turned me off of /vg/.

yeah half of that board is pretty much just mobile gacha garbage somehow

Are there any benefits to building a colony in a system with a remnant nexus?

More blueprints and AI cores, I'd guess, but you'd pay for it in dead AI fleets. Would NPCs eventually wipe it out if you didn't somehow raise relations with the Remnant faction?

But you can't get the blueprints and AI cores from the colony's patrols killing them right? Or can you. Because if not it would probably be worth it just building one system over so that your patrols and space station don't get attacked.

I like diable avionics, the REPARASHUNS society and the imperium. They all have badass ships and the imperium has a kinda silly powerful capital but otherwise the theme and dealing with them is fun. Sadly the wanzer toters were wiped out in my current save. Is there any real strategy to dealing with stations above the base tier? Feels like anything short of total overwhelming ends up with my fleet getting buttfucked in half.

>the general has been purged
For what reason? Are non-gacha threads against /vg/ rules?

>Is there any real strategy to dealing with stations above the base tier?
Don't think so. I've recently witnessed (beause apparently enemy fleet can take up all the deployment points so you can only deploy a single frigate) my high-tech tier 2 going solo against a somewhat big (3 capitals) Luddic Church fleet, and it just fucking obliterated them.

The patrols will almost certainly need your help to win the fights, so you'll be there to loot anyway.

The only one way to spice Space Station assaults up is adding CVs and the Imperium siege platform (mod ship), otherwise overwhelming them is the only (effective) option

It was awful. Truly, truly dogshit, above and beyond the shitty childish bickering you'd normally expect from a general thread. Just dozens of people being shitty faggots and feeding other shitty faggots with faux outrage posts about dumb modder drama that doesn't even matter. One guy kept making new OPs without the MEGA links because he had an issue with the fact that mods were being hosted and eventually just straight up filed a DMCA claim against the MEGA folder in the name of the fucking developer who had to tweet about the fact that someone was impersonating him.

>Just got this stated and added to the game.
My pirate run is gonna be great.

Attached: Atlas_Mk4.png (200x390, 163K)

Huh. I figured it was an irritable janny who dislikes a certain Jewish African warlord and the almost-mainstream normie attention the game has suddenly garnered, but that's just me being cynical, I guess.

Why would you make such a monstrosity?

>tfw military base with alpha AI and orbital works with nanoforge and another alpha
>tfw your heavy patrols have 3 paaragons and 4 carriers each

Not to mention the blatant piracy (that the dev doesn't seem to care all that much about, probably due to the increased sales).

It was a dozen threads of schizophrenic faggots making stupid irreverent posts instead of talking about the game because it's 2019 and people are STILL too stupid to understand how 4chanx works and refuse to force global anonymous and just hide shitposts.

It's not piracy. People are using the CD key from a Youtube video that the devs specifically greenlit. They even provided links to download the installer so people can try before they buy. And it worked, because I had a blast from the very beginning and bought the game pretty much straight away.

What’s the most based faction v?
>Trump’s America in space
>Libertarian League
>Assmad Dicktat
>Tri-kikeon TM
>big dick church
>praise Allah
>the people who unironically picked yes man ending
>degenerate murdering, stealing, raping pirates

Why do people say that gamma AIs on idustries are bad because they reduce market size? Trade between your own colonies doesn't give profit anyway, wouldn't requiring less shit to buy from the side simply reduce expenses and be purely beneficial?

Indies are always good. You always have good standing with them, they help you when you send distress calls, they protect your colonies from pirates, and they sell you capital ships without demanding a commission.
Jihadists are based early game because you can make millions trading with them, but they become a major distraction when you get your colonies going.
Trikeks are alright, because they are the least likely faction to send expeditions to fuck your shit up (they still do it sometimes).

Because people are dumb, and while some advocate for autarky, others hate it.
Ultimately, put AIs where you feel like it's benefit you the most

To make hegemony engineers cry obviously.

Because everyone asked "Can we?" and nobody stopped to ask "Should we?"

That's fair

That shit reminded me final fortress ship of Eggman Fleet from Sonic Heroes except without wings.

Attached: Egg_Fleet_Full_Appearance.png (640x480, 621K)

definitely not fucking neutrino
the basic group of ships they start you with includes an emp analogue that deals a billion damage and rips through shields, armor, and hull alike

it's such a shame, because the ships look so cool, but the fluff text is poorly written and nonsensical half the time, and the ships are all buttfuck op balanced only by small shield arcs

instead of playing as them, as i originally intended, i will be flying pirate ships from the underworld mod against them, so that the game is 1000 times harder

fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=11002.0

the pirate ships from that mod are so fucking cool. big ridiculous literal "hack-job" tech ships that often lack shields and coherent gun placement. favorite so far is pic related. it has like 5 small ballistics mounts all lined up on the right side so that you can shell the shit out of people. it's fantastic, and i don't think it's remotely op.

Hegemony's too boring.
Persean doesn't stand out.
I'd only play as the Luddic Path (or even the Church) ironically.
Lobster Lords could be fun for a more roleplay-ish playthrough.
Pirates (or Path) for difficulty.

Tachyon's my pick from the vanilla factions, mainly because they're not spooked by AI and focus on high tech+energy weapons. Yeah, they're space Jews that are part of the DRM/copyrighting-fest that made the sector shit, but picking them is picking the realistic winner. They can cooperate with any faction outside of the weakest ones— Ludds and Pirates.

I look forward to trying jury-rigged shields on those junk-behemoths from Underworld. The lack of shields is the only reason I don't use them, but I might just start buying Torches randomly just for funsies. So much dakka.

the mongrel has enough ballistics that i think you could load it up with some flak cannons and turn it into a pretty solid pd escort for a capital flagship

>disrupt fuel industry on both Nachiteka and Syndria
>monthly profit gains barely pay for marine losses and salaries
What the actual fuck. Having 80%+ market share of a good people literally can't live without shouldn't just raise your profits by 50%.

i bet you could bribe them out of the game entirely with some free fuel
just load up on fuel and drop it all on the planet for free so that they don't even have to make it anymore
that way, they'll stop
forever

>they protect your colonies from pirates
Oh FUCK, and I was wondering why I always had friendly Bounty Hunters casually hanging out near my colonies.
It's thanks to 100/100 Independents relation.

I might just have to try that. I've always liked flak weapons every since I first played Red Alert 2. Is Flak really any good compared to regular flares or energy PD, though?

IMO barbarian is a decent SO flagship but not much else. Regardless of loadout and skills, the ship's AI seem to derp out a lot and won't move backwards when pressured during combat.

>Is Flak really any good compared to regular flares or energy PD
Yes it is. All missiles, torpedos and most low-tech (i.e. pirate) fighters have neither shields nor armour, so fragmentation damage shreds them.

flak is absolutely the best pd available, and on any setup where you can do so without compromising your damage output, you should field it. preferably, the dual flak cannons. any ship that has access to medium ballistics with a focus on missiles or enough small ballistics to make up for the lost slots with rails or something? do it. it's insane.

also, the big boy flak - the devastator cannon - is fucking amazing. it fires a stream of randomly timed flak shells that will 100% annihilate any missiles or fighters you encounter. you can fire that shit into a wave of piranha bombers and reliably remove about half of them and their bombs, and the thing's damaging enough to use to actually kill things as a main gun, too.

After starting a new game, I got pestered by a Hegemony patroller for having my transponder off to visit an independent black market. I already had it back on by the time he reached me, and I just cut the comm link and left the interaction. The patroller repeatedly interrupted me as I flew off to leave the system, but, each time, he didn't actually say anything to me or attack, as if he just wanted to be extra irritating.

Tri-Tac
Mostly because early game, you can buy as many drugs, weapons, and organs from them and sell them off to the goat fuckers and make fat stacks really early.
And they have the best ships in the game

Attached: 1565730604488.jpg (546x500, 33K)

What the fuck is this then?

cancer

So a normal /vg/ general but it's not purged. Seriously who didn't expect it to devolve into that?

Dicktat and Persefags are dicks because they actually invade you just because your colonies are too profitable.
Tritach does it too but less often, sometimes their expeditions fail to launch, so they're not too much of a nuisance.
Luddic Path subhumans are just subhumans as soon as you found your first colony.
There are also pirates, but they're straightforward pirates.
Everyone else is ok because they invade you only for harboring illegals or illegal AIs.

Can someone repost that one guy's onslaught build which had very few weapons?

Any tips for using command points? So far I just let my npc ships do whatever and it seems to work fine, but it's probably not the best way to fight.

Sylphon

I use it mainly to designate carrier torgets or to destroy priority threats like carriers

can someone post the best paragon loadout please?

>What faction mods are "balanced"?
Honestly if you don't install ALL the mods then balance them yourself you are pretty much dumb.

I can't find a bloody Atlas since the latest update, the damn MK-IIs clog up everything.

mk2 is better then the fatlus in every metric except for fleet slot

I'M USING IT FOR CARGO

ok, turns out you need commissions to get them these days

Wrong, Firepower and hulls is.
And also having a missile cruiser with you.

Am i retarded if i don't select my weapons manually and instead use pre-sets for my ships ?

Just get an obessus.
When it starts being a burden, make it a carrier.

nah it's allright, fiddling with weapons and whatnot can take forever and be confusing ass fuck.
