What does Yea Forums think of tower defense games?
What does Yea Forums think of tower defense games?
shit genre. once you play 1 or 2 it feels hard to get into more because you cant really change the formula up
Wrong
play the Anomaly series
Onslaught 2
UNREGISTERED HYPERCAM
Play GemCraft
I used to love playing them more than anything in WC3 days. Wintermaul wars with poison and ice combo slowed the game down to a crawl.
what does Yea Forums think of mobile gacha tower defense games?
i enjoy dota 2 very much
Based
>chinese game
NOPE
This.
Fucking loved playing this game at my desk job. Most other sites were blocked but not Kongregate.
I'm still mad
I will always be mad.
On my death bed I will be mad.
When the seas heat up and the world falls into global catastrophe I will still be fucking mad.
In the afterlife, when I get to the gates of Heaven, St. Peter and his angels will ask me "Are you still mad about EA being lazy asses and turning Plants VS Zombies into a CoD knockoff?" My answer will be yes.
When the race of man is no more and the ruins of man's cities have crumbled into dust, I will still be mad.
Ancient alien civilizations will find the smoldering, volcanic corpse of planet Earth and decode the secrets of the ancient "internet" and they will find this post and so my eternal anger will be brought forth into the far-flung reaches of outer space.
When the last tiny flash of heat in the universe dies and all descends into entropy, my hatred will remain.
Yes, I'm still mad.
New GemCraft is supposed to come out this year, it has a steam page.
Redpill me on such a recommendation.
It has a lot of content and depth of play for a TD game. It starts off fairly tame and straight forward but then becomes extremely challenging as you progress. Has unique mechanics for how your towers function by combining and upgrading gems, mazing and working around enemy pathing is an element. You want to play GemCraft Chasing Shadows, the steam version. There are older versions you can try but the steam version is a very complete game with like 200 levels.
Are there any TD games as good a PvZ?
Azur Lane is decent and it's published by the same company so I have high expectations.
Some great ones, but most are trash
You really only need to play Defence Grid 1/2, miss the rest
PvZ garden warfare is fun though
Defense Grid is pretty good
Bloons TD 5 and 6
Play Creeper World 3
Anyone play Immortal Defence? Shit was cash
Basic idea:
>Tower choice is limited per-map
>You don't just buy Towers, you have to manually build them using Mana
>Or Traps on the track
>Then socket in Gems into the Towers/Traps
>They will attack enemies after a short delay as they turn on
>You also don't just buy Gems, you get a random Gem of a given tier using your Mana and then have to work with the resources given to you to survive
>You don't have lives
>When an enemy hits your base, you lose some Mana and it respawns at the start of the track
>Enemies killed grant Mana
>If you don't have enough Mana to pay a monster's cost of it hitting your base, you lose
And then it just keeps expanding on it. Over and over.
Play Infinitode 2.
I bought it just because the theme and story seemed really interesting, but after playing it for a couple hours I realized trying to play a TD game for the story is fucking retarded because I don't really like TD anymore.
No it isn't, faggot. EA just wants the $$$.
anyone who thinks BTD5 is better than BTD6 is a fucking shitter
Like roguelikes, any tower defense game with permanent progression is completely worthless.
some of them are good.
i think defense grid or plants vs zombies were the first ones i played that werent just SC/WC3 maps.
does orcs must die +2 count
>Check Gemcraft on steam
>He has another Gemcraft game with a release date set for this year
Oh shit.
BTD6 is mostly based, but putting in app purchase ads on the challenge screen is pretty jewy
>mictrotransactions
>based
lol no fuck off niggerlicker
The micro transactions in that game is really a donation for the devs. You can 100 percent the game without it and earn what they're selling on the cash shop easily.
Have you never played StarCraft or WCIII TDs?
doesn't matter how the devs or you try to rationalize it. they are still microtransactions and they are going out of their way to aggressively advertise them to players just like you show in your own damned screenshot
It's a fucking paid game. Literally no excuse.
The fact that there's a dedicated shitter mode for more than the base price of the game is approaching AAA levels of jewery
Creeper World
i feel like They Are Billions does a good job of mixing tower defense with the RTS genre.
i cannot think of a single one that would require actual strategy
comfy time burner though
Wintermaul was best
Might and magic!
My man.
Play Sanctum 2
Then you aren't playing the right TDs.
Element TD and Gem TD to name just two require lots of thought and planning. Especially when racing.
you haven't played many recent ones then, gemcraft and creeper world 3 for sure require actual strategy.
God, Kingdom Rush went so far down the fucking drain.
>Latest installment doesn't have towers with branching paths and instead you just bring 4 different towers into a round with you
The first 3 games were great, playing as the villains was a cool concept but they managed to fuck it up
>lost my YouTD save
>need to do it all over again
>the very first game is some faggot setting it to Extreme and playing Iron with Trash Heap
I hate the item find meta for map.
only acceptable Tower defense game is dungeon defenders
The original, not the cash grab sequel
