Female cast members goes through self-realization

>female cast members goes through self-realization

What is this meme?

A shame because long hair is better

So that they don't get grabbed by their long flowing hair in the middle of battle and get tossed around like a fucking human flail.

It's the Niso Isin brand of female character development.

It can be done well

unparalleled, previously undocumented levels of absolutely based

It's symbolism you goddamn illiterate

Who is she?

In practical terms its more convenient in a combat scenario and requires less maintenance. But writers just use it as a cheap way to symbolize change.

For what? Becoming a dyke?

get out quinten

I thought it was a Japanese culture thing. And for Max Payne it's an example of attempting to wrest and amount of control back into his shitty life. Regardless of how minuscule or worthless the actual act may be.

Ultimate Anguish

ff9 did it and its the best game of all time

Attached: 1553786268026.jpg (537x640, 99K)

I'm going to make a game where a meek shorthaired girl becomes strong and starts grunting like she's taking a massive shit and then instantly grows a giant flowing curtain worth of hair.

it's something women do after enduring trauma as an act of regaining control of themselves

It's suppose to represent a number of things. Loss of naivety, moving on from your past and not letting it tie you down. But like most things, it's been overdone and in some instances the hair cutting happens without the accompanying actual development.

This isn't even an eastern trope either, the west does it too, but typically it is some other change. Shaving the beard, a new set of clothing. There are tons of ways and both are guilty of making a change with no development and trying to claim otherwise.

That shitty battle speed prevents it from being the best FF, let alone best game of all time.

tomboy propaganda

Kind of already been done, except for the looks like taking a massive shit part

It's the only way women know how to change themselves because they're retarded.

It's pretty much the opening scene from Jeanne d'Arc. She starts out as your generic long-haired milkmaid, then cuts it short after the first fight when she needs to go out into the world.

something gay like a new starting line or forgetting the past.

Attached: cb680c5bb7d0f5b3f25e76a9f1d7bbed.gif (500x493, 988K)

I don't know why they do it, but when they do, I find it EXTREMELY AROUSING.

Attached: korruhhhhhhhhh.gif (500x280, 1.7M)

It's something like a break with the past, or leaving something behind you.

But what happens when someone who already has short hair undergoes character development?

>proceeds to just bite her opponent
WOW SO STRONG AND EMPOWERING

Attached: Sakura_cut_hair.PNG.png (800x605, 639K)

>just resorts to punching her ''friend'' like a low IQ brainlet demonstrating no qualities of being a ninja but instead qualities of a child

To be fair they did fail her and ino for that reason
unless that's where you were going with this

>if I say it's symbolism then I can have characters do whatever retarded nonsensical shit I like!

Wrong, autist, the story still needs to make sense.

This is cancer. The only character it ever improved was Satsuki.

As others have said, women are materialistic and all about appearances, so changing their appearance is the most insane thing for them.
This is extremely evident in the newest Fire Emblem, whose main artist is a woman. The game has a 5 year timeskip halfway through and LITERALLY EVERY CHARACTER IN THE GAME has their timeskip design either shorten or lengthen their hair. Short hair pre-timeskip? It's long now. Long hair? It's short now.

Short -> long annoys me the most, since it's so fucking rare to have female characters with short hair already. Then they just become another generic long haired girl, even though I do generally prefer long over short.

It's symbiology retard.

And then they ruin it by retconning literally everything in the postgame, followed by you doing a watered-down version of everyone's personal missions so everyone's happy and alive, but the consequence is all gone. Still seething.

Crazy chicks always do something to their hair as an escapist ritual from their inner emotional turmoil. If a girl you’re dating starts bleaching or colouring their hair or cuts it short or does something drastic like that just stay away.

If my memory serves me right long hair represents the lack of trouble and conflicts, in middle age woman had long hair because they didn't have to put on a helmets nor armor for example. Cutting hair means the realization of the troubles that are around you and a wake up call to arm your self for the future ones.
With is a shame, short hair women is great.

Japs are fucking retarded

I've slowly realized that I don't dislike this trope or short hair, I dislike the short hair being "plain". It's fine when there's still some volume to it like but I hated Serena's in DQXI.

too bad his personality turned to shit meanwhile

Girl cutting her hair short is a thing in Asian mythology.
It's therefore popular in Chinese and Japanese media

It's a lazy way to show that the character is "changed"
Cutting hair is the most convenient option for this, as it's easy to perform, results in no negative consequences, and can be done with a flourish

No, it means that women are children who believe that slight alteration to their hair guarantees them status and social acknowledgement of their new sparkly personas.

Akane was best with long hair

EVERYTHING IS SO FUCKING POST IRONIC HERE I CAN'T TELL WHATS SARCASM OR MEMES ANYMORE OK

AAAAA

>did we get new filters overnight?
Yes. It's set up so that you see the posts you made as you'd actually typed them out, but everybody else sees the filtered word. It's intended that people won't know they are filtered and so just keep looking like idiots.

Quit reading at time.

So they gain control by trying to look like a man?

That's what makes it so good

>implying they aren't already a man
Hmmm....that sounds like purposely misgendering, user. I think i'm going to have to give you a fine.

Obviously it hearkens back to traditional rites and ceremonies. Shaving your head or cutting your hair has always been seen as a sign of repentance or beginning of a new way of life. The way it's offered to the wind like that must be a reference to the gods, or to fate, or to the passage of time. Spiritually it's a kind of sacrifice or offering, and psychologically it's a reminder of the new commitment.

well she did GET it cut off bye ryoga the retard throwing his bandana like a boomerang

This is probably my #1 most hated anime/game/whatever trope of all time

>the main character and large knight dude have long hair and never have to worry about this

Everyone saw Mulan and just copies that instead of doing anything original.

isn't it just some japanese culture thing

Shoulder-length is even better. At least that what my boner says.

I like blunt bangs on both long and short hair

Why would a character in a medieval themed fantasy setting do this though?

A really shitty japanese trope that needs to fucking stop. Cutting long, beautiful hair should be a crime.

Relax, there's an item that brings it back

Grabbing a dudes hair is gay

Its realistic. I'm a man and I have shaved my head a few times when I felt like I was stagnating too much in life. It genuinely feels good and therapeutic, helps get you moving again.

She realized that women are inferior.

reminds me of that one movie with the Epic Fail guy face.

V for Vendetta. that movie had this entire emotional torture scene that ended with the chick sidekick deciding to go bald IIRC.

I was expecting a picture of Evagelyne.
