Sonic Heroes is better than Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2.
You can disagree if you want, but it'll just mean that you're biased and nostalgic for the older games. Heroes is flawed, but for every mistake in it, the Adventure games are either worse in the same regard or have something else that's at least just as annoying, if not more.

I played Adventure 2 and Heroes at the same point in my life. Adventure 2 still holds up, Heroes is dogshit.

Look, Big the cat can go to hell (Gameplay wise anyways) but the sonic levels were great, you could play as tails, and the shooting stages with gama went by faster. Emerald radar was also SEVERELY downgraded in A2
Amy should play exactly like sonic, okay maybe not EXACTLY 1:1, but she should retain some speed character traits.
I just played SA2 for the first time, actually. It doesn't hold up at all. It's pretty fucking garbage. Not to mention 1 was better
It was pretty good. I appreciated it bringing back based Big and for making the Chaotix relevant again
Sonic Heroes has decent mechanics, music, and level design. It fails by forcing you to switch between characters during a level instead of just letting you play through the level as one character. That being said, it has some of my favorite 3D sonic levels.

Sonic Heroes has some of the worst physics in the series. Unlike Adventure 1 & 2 where you can fight the game to break it, in Heroes you have to fight the game to fix it, almost nothing works like it's intended to. It's like they took that little buggy slope section in Emerald Coast and made an entire game to the same standards. The premise behind it is alright though, and so was the final boss, we need more Metal Sonic in the series.
Literally jankier than sonic 06, I guess the fact it came out many years before is an excuse though and just goes to show how bad sonic 06 was
Agreed. Stuff like Casino Park, Egg Fleet, Mystic Mansion, Hang Castle, Lost Jungle, and Grand Metropolis still hold dear in my heart. Not to mention Egg Albatross and the final boss.

The team mechanic meant deliberately designing stages to slow you down and force you into using other formations. Also it was the game that introduced HP bars to standard enemies. It was awful and the whole game feels like a slog, especially the later zones. Especially that fucking mansion.
Fuck Sonic Heroes, and fuck you. The music and the Metal Sonic twist were both great, though.

Nostalgia, is PERSONAL experience with something you reflect possitively on many years later, around a decade+. Most of the time, people that are nostalgia to anything is blind to its flaws it usually has, mostly because you grew up biased to it.
