They won't nerf it at this point after what they already did. They'll just do ye olde slippery slope of gradually increasing the costs of new stuff that comes out to encourage kids to pay for wumpas instead to skip the longer grinds.

Beenox actually increased wumpa coin gain on average. The move of the Weekend Bonus also gives slightly more time. Overall even with weekend x10 play you can afford stuff easily. I'm actually surprised Activison priced Coins so high, only an absolute fool would consider paying $15 for what they could make on a saturday afternoon for free.

The bonus is still there but they extended the bonus to include all characters that got a GP skin as well as some arbitrary other karts and paints so you'll see a lot more variety.
In the turning class alone there are: Ripper Roo, Krunk, Pura, Baby Crash which is a massive step up from the previous GP only offering Liz.
