It runs smoothly and the (optional) improved graphics are nice. It also has some small QoL improvements to the interface and menus.

The only big issue is layering, though they've stated and just recently mentioned again that it will be removed permanently before phase 2.
Layering sucks but it is sort of necessary for the initial release so you don't have a thousand players waiting for Hogger to respawn.

There are multiple instances or "layers" of the server. The server moves players around at times to try and avoid overpopulated or underpopulated layers.
The idea is you always have just the right amount of players to encounter, but there are times where it can move you between layers abruptly, like if you're about to attack an npc and he suddenly vanishes because you got layer switched. (OP's webm is an example of a layering bug)
There are also ways to manually switch layers, which can be exploited to collect resources and other things.

Blizzard's plan is to include layering for the first phase, then disable it once players have spread out from the low level zones and the population has stabilized.

Group PvP was always alliance favored in vanilla, your class of choice won't matter in that regard. 1vs1 locks do a lot better horde side, but for PvE, alliance warlocks have a better time of it due to their rarity. Then again, this time around there's probably going to be a shitload of faggot female gnomes ally side, so they might not be that rare. But, yeah, pally and dwarf are looking to be overpopulated compared to vanilla. So alliancelock might be the better choice overall.

The way real OG hunters fucked others was by taming a named Beast mob that had a unique model, naming the pet the same name as the mob, and while hiding using Eyes of the Beast to make it appear like it's wandering in the same spot like a normal mob. The best way of abusing this was taming Sarkoth in the Valley of Trials in Durotar, causing level 2 and 3 orcs and trolls to flag themselves for PvP.

bro there's a shitton of guides for rare beasts that can be tamed, either alliance goes for Lupos or horde for Echeyakee (easier to get)
Overall, stuff like wolves and raptors are good for dps, heavier pets like bears are good for tanking and the cunning pets like spiders or birds can disable your opponent which is useful for pvp.

That won't get people half as mad as claiming every weapon is a hunter weapon though.

I honestly loved it. I thought DPS was boring as shit as its just hitting a rotation constantly, while I healed I had a bit of freedom of action in relation to the problems that would present themselves and the different circumstances.

the easiest one is to spam trade chats to ask people for cloth to craft their bags for ez levels, alternatively buy cloth and sell the bags, you need to be super fast for this before the other tailors take your spot, don't worry if someone else is spamming, people don't read chat all the time, as little as 30s-2m is enough to do your own advertisement and people will go to you and give you cloth to craft the bags. If you want to be even better don't ask for money for the mats and supply them yourself if you're getting levels. You want to make runecloth bags asap, there's a few items that sell, but I wouldn't worry too much, at some point it's better to just sell the cloth than to bother trying to craft shit because other players will undercut you all the time.

Outside of disabling some guy coming off in the distance, you’re never going to hold a charm until everyone can focus the target. Trinkets, racials, bleeds, poisons, aoe’s, multishots, and tab-dot players are all working against you.

Void sacs are only going to be effective in duel scenarios vs only select classes (ones that can dispel the shield in any way will just laugh at you.)And you have to lose your best pvp ability soul link to do it.

Those are both very niche situations where other pets are more effective than fehunter, and only in the most ideal environments. When you have everything working against you, your trusty fehunter’s got your back bro.

What this does is separates communities. To keep that negative minimal, other games let players easily select what shard they're on with a menu. WoW does not. It refuses to do this. So instead of "Oh hey join Shard 3, thats where RPers hang out" you get "I don't see you bro, whe- oh fuck me in the ass you're sharded aren't you?"

Not to mention apart from the two or three MOST heavily populated servers in WoW's history, login queues have never been a persistent issue outside of expansion launch issues.

Sharding is a permanent fix for a temporary issue. Layering is too, to a lesser extent. They say they will be turning it off, but the launch window is THE time to form new friendships, guilds, etc while leveling all for the first time. This will fuck the economy forever as well, enabling bots to farm endlessly.

I've only seen the term shard used within the context of megaservers, which are multiple servers that are eligible to put their players into shards in that megaserver.
I'm hesitant to call a layer a shard since no MMO developer has ever been this fucking boneheaded to turn a single server into its own megaserver.

Bro if 15k+ people per realm were all in the same starting zone then only the most absolute elite autist would be able to level up.
