It is easy mode. It’s one of the best guns in 1 and 2. Never played 3.

That's what I did on my first playthrough because I was so shit at aiming to dismember that I was afraid to use anything less precise. Then I played 2 and noticed that the necros die much more easily so I started using more weapons.
Now I can use almost any weapon on the hardest difficulty and practically breeze through. I wish I could play these games for the first time again, knowing what's going to happen and when takes something away from them. Still love them, but nothing beats that first playthrough.
