DKP is way, way worse with shitters getting loot just because they save it up which just makes the entire raid team less geared because no one wants to use up their points on small upgrades. This video so far is just kind of proving me right. I was an undead rogue. My guild was farming MC and BWL, nearly farming AQ40 and starting prog on Naxx. I had a high PvP rank (rank 10), probably would've been higher if I spent less time world PvPing on nights guilds would be trying to get to their raids and more time in BGs.

I see no point in playing. There's not much higher I could go and it'd be trying to recapture something that'll never really be the same as it used to be. That and Blizzard charging money for it completely put me off of it.

The best systemis the Zero sum system. Award points for attendance and boss downs/attempts. Then assign loot flat amounts. So warrior 1 has 200 Dkp and warrior 2 has 180. A helm drops which is worth 35 DKP warrior 1 gets it and now has 165 Dkp. Shoulders drop next now warrior 2 gets it cos he has 180 and warrior 2 spent some. therefore people who do work are rewarded fairly. lot councils are fucking bullshit.

Healthstones and debuffing curses hardly matters if you have a decent priest. Mages also provide more utility with teleports and food and they don't require juggling of the debuff limit. Don't get me wrong warlocks are good but Mages are just as good but also don't need as much gear. Most people rolling warlock are going to give it up pretty quickly.

This is the way progression servers work. Everquest was really successful doing it and it's become the standard, so get over it. There are release phases, and content will be churned out as time goes on, it won't just be available at the start. I thought that was a major point everyone should have already known about classic? By definition that's what a loot council is. Loot council is a group of people that make decisions on loot. By having a loot council, you are NECESSARILY rejecting any sort of common looting system. Loot council "The loot council decides the looting rules", which is arbitrary. If you have general guidelines on looting rules, and ultimately have a couple people make a decision, that's not a loot council. That's general looting rules where sometimes when tough decisions are needed, a couple of designated people make those decisions.

At least I got something left from it. I wasted 6 years of my life to create that community. 300 active people, like 80 raiders.
I thought we were friends, family even. I dedicated all my free time to them.
But then it just crashed. Long drought with no content before cataclysm. Some people took breaks, I invited some pro players from “pro guilds”, they were friendly at first, I even promoted their ranks, but then they started questioning my orders, and non stop debating me, then I got sick I was offline for like 4 days and they started to turn people against me. My officers told me and I kicked them out. Then they started to whisper ppl that they want to create a better guild on their own. I was still sick at that time and was offline, somehow many people left, many never came back from their breaks. We weren’t able to raid anymore. 1,5 months without raids and then officers started leaving. It was the end.
Only 2 guys (a guy and a girl tho) that I met in bc stayed with me till the end. We played together until mop, but in mop they left.
We tried to keep in contact but they both had kids and jobs.
I was the only one with nothing.

We stopped talking in skype some time after.

I'm afraid you'll need to make a choice if you don't want to be ass at both. Full combat or cold blood/prep. Combat can kind of do pvp encounters but it has no burst or utilities, you rely on outgearing people

I got paid for it, it was actually great because it paid for most of my tuition. I had 3 full co-op terms by the time I graduated.
