Can anyone explain hammer to me? Im trying out new weapons Ive never used or used little of. Im on hammer right now and I just hate it. It has such a boring moveset, youre slow as shit, all the moves are pretty slow and honestly dont deal as much damage or dps as other things. I guess it breaks parts easily, but who gives a shit? Go to Emulation > Configuration > Graphics and disable FMV hack. If you need that setting to get good framerate you can enable and disable it with Ctrl+T whenever there's a cutscene.

I feel so burnt out on MH and I don't know why.

You're playing XX right? If you're using the 60fps cheat then try turning it off and enabling it again when you're in-game. I've never used it since my PC can't handle it so I don't know if it can cause many issues, but I've never heard anyone complain about it.
Also turn off the 3D effect in the options from the main menu.

Baruragaru and Inagami I guess (I like a fair amount of Frontier's regular monsters but not really any EDs)

You should be using the LV2. charge-whilst moving uppercut to close the distance between yourself and the monster's face. When you're there you have to choose wether you have time to do a 3-hit standard combo that ends with the upswing or or just charge to LV.3 and do an overhead slam. Once the monster is in a shitty position to begin mining it's skull for precious metals with the Big Bang combo.

Never stop charging your hammer and get Evade Extender skill if you feel you're not covering enough distance, it becomes a joke how far you roll while charging. Know that the hammer has no defensive options outside of stunning a monster out of an attack with your sheer caveman damage numbers. A good big bang combo can land you about 2000 damage, plus the exhaustion and KO buildup on top of that.

If you're hunting in a squad like a fucking pussy then it'll be harder to read the monster and you'll get 1 KO for every 10 you'd be getting in a solo hunt thanks to the way the KO status scales in multiplayer.

Finally if you're ever in any position where you can slide down an angle, that should be your one and only method of attack. The spinning cannonball does so much fucking damage, looks so fucking stupid, breaks so many bones and causes so much asshurt from local fauna that it's a bannable offense not to rely on it whenever possible.
You don't need good luck you just need to be the Monster Hunter you should be

I'm more than sure the same issues will plague XX.

The main issue here is that in game, menu, and all, if I keep the speed uncapped, it goes to nearly 2000% speed but never going above 28 frames. Going anywhere downward towards 100% speed drops the frames to like 1-2. It can't be a hardware issue.

All potential charge-blade users please look at this post and decide if it's worth dropping to this social level for.

I would love to help you, but I only played 4U on citra and it worked perfectly. Did you disable hardware shaders or something?

The fact that it’s not slow as shit at all. It’s no DB, but it very much can very much dish extreme ammounts of damage very quickly if you can fully use that limited moveset. My advice is that you store your charge and use charges lvl1 and 2. Unlike the greatsword all levels of the charge are useful. In fact, lvl3 may be the one that has the least applications.

I imagine Gigginox will eventually return, because he really was great, but I think Capcom isn’t quite sure they can really deliver on that original concept that made it so great.

If there was some very dark and deep area in the hoarfrost reach (with Brightmoss, so you could implement the slinger into the fight) maybe he could have been in. Perhaps such a thing was conceptualized at some point, but I think that if it happens, it’ll be in MH6.

I know mudfish is kind of plain, mostly because he shares a gimmick with barroth, but he does add variety to the early game (and is also great practice for hammer). It in itself is completely harmless, not actively bad or anything.

Lava fish on the other hand is great and people just can’t see it. I think it’s either plesioth-induced prejudice against fishes as a whole or just a sour taste after fighting the very plain mudfish. I know Lavasioth can’t ever be Agnaktor, but he’s pretty much the next best thing, the fight is more fun than ever and he adds variety to the game (it’s really important to fill the diversity quota).

It’s also a fish, and it’s armored. You can actually melt the armor too. It even swims in the lava and does this very pretty flips when it rains the lava on you.

These are plenty unique things that can male the fight different enough to be wngaging by itself, if you aren’t biased towards it. I do think there’s too many fire monsters compared to pretty much every other element.

They feel more grounded than many of the more gimmicky monsters and personally, I find they give the world of Monster hunter cohesion and help me buy into the fantasy. Just knowing Anjanath and Rathalos literally gets me into the game.
