Will you be purchasing a Genesis mini user?
Will you be purchasing a Genesis mini user?
why would I do that
No because:
*No nostalgia for Genesis
*Basically retroarch in a plastic shell with shitty performances
I can already play all those games on my 3ds
Maybe if it'll drop to something like 20. Never had genesis. If the controller is okay could be worth it.
>no Sonic3K
>no Rocket Knight
>no Sonic 3 & Knuckles
>no Ristar
Damn
I don't support trash companies that should've died in the 90's and can't even do their ONE first party series right.
Tempted to grab it just for megaman the wily wars.
Sucks that ristar isn't on it but oh well, everything else looks good.
Plus if the controllers are usb then those will probably become the ideal genesis emulator controllers.
I have most of the games elsewhere. A lot of them I don't even remember buying like Phantasy Star 2 on 360.
If I was going to full tism on the Genesis I would buy a Analog Mega SG and not some shitty emulator box.
I would rather buy 32X mini
Why of course
I have my SNES mini and soon my Genesis mini I’ll feel 12 again
Sonic 3 & Knuckles will never ever happen again.
Nah just the controller.
only if it can be modded like the ps classic... i have a genesis model2 and mega retron, with an everdrive... so no, dont really need this, unless maybe i use it as a bedroom console and play some shmups before bed... but i do that with my classic which has retroarch on it......
no will not get one
I already have 5 Genesis systems, including a Nomad, and an Everdrive. I think I'm good.
you got the battery pack? ive got mine still from when i was a kid... have to use my genesis power adapter pain in the ass
What emulator is that?
i think sega needs to release new ip's and only release them on physical genesis cartridges. the retro market i feel is big enough that they could make money making new genesis games and release them in physical format with the same box art config
they should have made working cartridge slot on that thing and bundle it with new game. probably not worth it but could've been interesting
Are you fucking kidding me?
I honestly don't even like it when they try to cash in on 80s or 90s nostalgia because that shit just makes me feel old, but whenever they make these mini consoles they probably hired 18 or 19 year olds who did the bare minimum research to see what these old fucks were playing over 2 decades ago.
its something ive been thinking about recently, like have sony make a new series of games like the syphon filter franchise and only relase it on ps1, or a new starfox classic or remaster game and only release it on the gamecube. shit like that
you are old, boomer
Its hard to make a 3D platformer with a character that should be moving as fast as flash. Sonic's only real hope is in 2D.
>Tempted to grab it just for megaman the wily wars.
Don't man its a disappointing port of what was great games on the NES. Just buy the PS4 collection instead if you can't or have some moral reason for not emulating NES. As for the controllers, they are usb and from what early reviews are saying so far they are for the most part completely accurate to the original 3 button controllers besides the dpad being a bit more rougher to touch on the usb controllers.
i don't think there's enough market for that kind of stuff. but could work if one of these "mini consoles" had some sort of way to play physical games. like i said bundle it with new game. then maybe promise few more in the future sold separately.
They might as well remake Sonic 3 and K that way they don't have to shit themselves over royalties.
The only thing nice about this is the wallpapers. Go ahead and show the actual garbage interface.
I said I'd only buy it if it had Monster World IV when they first announced it. The mad lads actually did it, so I'm buying it.
Why would I do that when I can just buy a Raspberry Pi and never shut the fuck up about it?
S3K has issues with the music rights. It wasn't on the PS4/Xbone collection either. Rocket Knight is kind of a puzzling exclusion but Ristar doesn't surprise me that much.
Having said that, there are some legitimately good choices on the game list. Gunstar Heroes, Thunder Force 3, Contra Hard Corps, Earthworm Jim, Shinobi 3, Streets of Rage 2, Castlevania Bloodlines. And I'm really glad Monster World 4 is on there, since it was never officially released for the Genesis in the US.
I've got a flashcart so I'm probably not buying one, but the game list isn't bad at all.
>no Sonic 3&K
Seriously, how do you fuck up THIS hard?
>Go ahead and show the actual garbage interface.
I thought I did? From there it either launches a standalone emulator or in some cases RetroArch with the desired core. You're probably thinking it's RetroPie? It is not. That setup is running on a 8700K. How else would I be able to have some of these systems in there?
