Great for both 2d and 3d gaems.

Sony and Microsoft are about equal in terms of controller quality this generation—-360 murdered the dual shock 3, especially the revised 360 with a decent dpad. I prefer off set sticks so I’ll take the xbone.

Third would be the cheap ass Logitech pad, fourth the Switch pro controller and its a bum fight for last between the joycons and the steam controller.

The DS4 is the best standard layout controller as far as functionality goes but has shit battery life.
Switch Pro is good all round but sadly is missing analog triggers.
Logitech is for poorfags but at least the d-pad is great.
Steam Controller is the best gamepad ever created with some minor flaws and the larger problem for many people of having to configure it for every single game.
Xbone is just a more expensive Logitech pad. Basically a joke. Doesn't even have gyro at the same price as gamepads that do offer that essential feature.
Joycons are a joke as well.

Pretty good for 2D stuff. Dpad feels very nice, better than the Pro controller one.

Xbone controller when on PC and have to use controller. Steam controller when I want to play a M+KB game from my couch, like Morrowind or Civ

It's wonderful. You missed out on the Wii U ones, though. Gamestop was practically giving those away, I wish I got more.

I don't think I've ever had a controller where the analog sticks don't eventually fuck up. I just consider controller wear items at this point, nature of the beast.

It's expensive with some shoddy quality, but they're the best paddles out there and the adjustable triggers are amazing if you use the profiles to adjust them between short and long configurations.

DS3 and XboX360 ones are 8/10
JoyCons are hot garbo 3/10 for small child hands.

DS4. Xbone controller is too bulky and all the buttons feel like they are going to stick. Switch pro controller is too expensive. I don't like the pads on the steam controller. Logitech one feels like the poverty version of the DS4

engh, I put pic related into MGSV and controller was better because it allowed you to walk. Therefore you could be silent while using camo instead of having to use the sneaking suit.

Switch Pro Controller if it doesn't require a d-pad. XBONE if it does.

Separated Joycons if it's a jRPG or something where I will want to kick back a bit. They're pretty comfy.

The Switch itself is just the logical conclusion of the VMU concept.
