It's crazy how much FF13 would have been improved with such few changes
>Keep gambit system from FF12
>Allow manual issuing of commands mid-combat
>Allow switching party-leaders mid-combat
>Not trigger game over when party leader goes KO

It's a damn shame because I actually enjoyed almost all characters, the world and the story as well.

you start

It’s fucking amazing how all fucking FFs become good when numbered sequels show up. This is worse than the Zelda Cycle.

Mario Bros

That looks more like FF15

>keep gambit system
holy shit, you fucking stupid faggot

XIII had it's issues but it was still somewhat enjoyable to me.

I played the demo to this and thought it was decent. Was it pretty good overall?

Yes, it's the savior of the trilogy. The gameplay is fast paced and responsive compared to the first two games.

The game's also more open-world oriented but forces a time limit the player. You can just carry over your progress if the world ends though.

lol

So it's kinda like Dead Rising? Are there different endings?

13 was a good game that gets a bad rap because of the 20 hour tutorial.

>It's not bad, it only has a tutorial that is half as long as the main campaign
>It gets good after 20 hours, I swear

You had one job.

Ha. Complete and utter fecal matter the game. Even XV was less aids.

OP wants us to give him good linear game, but leads off with this shit.

I'd much rather have a solid, well structured linear game than some zoomer empty open world bullshit

>i d-didnt play ff13 trash at all b-but ffxv is the undisputed king of jrpgs!!

Attached: fang.gif (248x400, 2.61M)

What is funny is that Lighting Return's combat system is basically that

as for a good Linear game, FFX

>I'd much rather have a solid, well structured linear game than some zoomer empty open world bullshit
This.

a well-designed open world is as good as a well-designed linear level. preferring one over the other, inherently, means you're a dumbass

>a well-designed open world

shame those are rare as fuck

>tfw Lightning didn't show up in KH3 because no FF characters allowed
Meanwhile you got Mandy fucking Moore for the Tangled world but you didn't bring her back for Aerith?

This

Lightning Returns timer felt like it was made by people who recently played Dead Rising, Majora's Mask and Dragon Quarter and didn't understand the purpose of any of them.

Dead Rising's and MM's timer was okay.

Fuck Dragon Quarter's because that is a hard "reset back to the start of the game" bullshit. DR and MM at least let you keep shit like songs, levels, key items, etc... and MM allowed fast travel to the boss if you already beat it

>Fuck Dragon Quarter's because that is a hard "reset back to the start of the game" bullshit.

Why shouldn't the player be punished for poor resource management/decision making? If it were the length of a typical JRPG it might be overly punishing, but it isn't.

>DR and MM at least let you keep shit like songs, levels, key items, etc... and MM allowed fast travel to the boss if you already beat it

Dragon Quarter lets you keep secondary EXP (allowing for level boosting right out the gate), as well as anything in storage and your equipment. Honestly carrying over progress out of a fucked situation has a flawed implementation in both Dead Rising and Dragon Quarter because it makes newcomers think they will HAVE to NG+ several times to properly finish the game where it's more than possible to do it on a first, blind run.

I feel it's better executed in Dead Rising just because it was a new game.

DQ carried the Breath of Fire name so people didn't expect this NG+ bullshit or that Drago Powers (a series STAPLE) speeds up the game over timer while in the other games they used up a lot of MP.

It's funny, my experience with 13 was basically "oh, this game is kinda bad" to "actually this game is really cool" to "holy fuck this game is terrible".

I really wish I could go back and play through Chapter 4-8 again since I had so much fun going through those, it was such a wonderful experience both through the music and the graphics which really made me wonder why people hated the game beyond the first 3 chapters or so.

Sure it was linear and the game kind of played itself half the time, but god damn it was a really beautiful game with amazing music that just kept on giving. Chapter 8 was my favourite part of the game just from everything it was throwing at me and Sazh was my favourite character in the game. I couldn't give a shit if it was linear I was just having fun with the characters and story (at the time since I actually cared about Sazh).

Once Chapter 9 hits, fuck that shit. I spent hours grinding for that 22 minute bossfight, and it just got worse from there. The final boss was easier than the chapter 9 boss and it really made me angry at how if the party leader dies the game is over instead of just switching to someone else and having to revive them.

no one mentioned 15
RENT FREE 13 tranny you failed 13 failed and you will die alone and forgot just like 13 did

The game tricks you into thinking it gets good when it opens up in Gran Pulse, but after a few hours into that that, you realise the game was just fine and better off staying linear.

oh please shut the fuck up you're not going to stop Square Enix from making another 1 button trainwreck

I am worried that FF7FR is going to be a one button trainwreck

>lightning beats minoritys
seriously triggered me

No. It was a cheap cashgrab to wrap up the clusterfuck franchise. It's the cheapest looking of the trilogy and the time limit only exists to railroad the player and hide the lack of content. Also
>srs, gritty soldier turns cosplayer

>Fuck Dragon Quarter's because that is a hard "reset back to the start of the game" bullshit.
You'r retarded if you think this. I used the Dragon Form for all of the boss battles in the 2nd half of the game, and finished the game on my 1st playthrough with ease. Dragon Quarter's difficulty has been vastly overstated. Just because you can't grind endlessly doesn't mean you have to restart,
