Why do so many people on Yea Forums hate this game?

Personally it was my first Resident Evil and I loved it!

me too! i especially like how it encourages going FAST and zooming through the game. skipping everything and not paying attention to any details. Now thats my kinda game.

its one of the best games of the year

but its too hard user! The adaptive difficulty punishes you for doing good. god its just like sekiro. Artificial diffucilty! my tiny brain can't handle it!!!

I don't hate it. In fact it's a good game. I'm just disappointed in it.

It's the best RE game, but that's not a very high bar.

It was my first RE. Loved it. Got RE4 during summer sale, loved it as well.

RE2make has polished gameplay, incredible graphics and damn good atmosphere.
RE4 has an even better atmosphere than RE2make once you get to midgame, the tank controls aren't hard to get used to at all if you have a brain, but they're not as satisfying as RE2's movement system. RE2 scared me, RE4 didn't, and RE4's gameplay isn't really as good, but it has a shit ton of soul as well. You can tell that RE2 was made less ridiculous (i.e how Leon just said fuck it and did a crazy flying roundhouse kick at the big guy in RE4) so it could be more accessible to newer players.

I liked both equally, haven't played any other RE games yet, though. I've seen all of 7 when it first came out, not really impressed.

How does making something less ridiculous make it more accessible?

Retarded normies. They're there to play the game the news wants them to, shit like the actual personality in RE4 will just ruin the "immersion"

Because to 99% of the population if something is not realistic, it's shit

They don't, they're just being contrarian for the sake of it.

Being clunky is not having more personality user. Or ARMA would have personality in spades, except it's soulless as fuck.

>Literally no one on /zoomzoom/ hates it
Come on now faggot

Nobody has time to read lore that’s for nerds

Everyone loved it initially, tons of threads were up praising it. Then the contrarian tide swept in, and now there are the usual anons who hate it because in their minds loving it is the popular opinion still.

Bad series.

For me, in priority, my problems were:
>Somehow manages to have worse fucking internal consistency and chronology than the original RE2.
>B-mode scenario is a complete shambles of its former self, leading directly to the chronology problems.
>Adaptive difficulty and critical hit headshot RNG are bullshit of the highest order.

Fixed camera and tank controls fags are a small loud bunch of retards

i unironically thought it was ok but my biggest gripes that destroy my goodwill for it come from
>mr x
they revamped mr x into being the typical "appears and chases you" shit that has been milked to death since slender hit the steam store taking you out of the lonely methodical contemplative atmosphere of the original resident evil and speaking of that
>locking bonus costumes and the real sountrack behind a paywall
do i need to explain this one, i feel them taking one of the most iconic parts of the original game (the og soundtrack) and taking something one avalable in game via fun easter egg (outfits) for a few extra sheckels being bullshit is self explanatory

>so many

A handful of loud contrarians is not "so many". Less than a year in the game has sold 4.6 million copies and has a metacritic score of 91%, it had a ton of memes and people are still making threads to this day and demanding RE8 or R3make be in the same style.

it was supposed to be the REmake of Resident Evil 2, but it's just RE6 in the Resident Evil 2 scenario with a fucking ugly engine and tranny Claire. As a fan expecting at least for the remakes to be fucking classic survival horror, I'm offended for this piece of shit release. DMC5 was the only good game modern Capcom made.

>first RE game
start with RE1 or at least the original RE2 for fuck's sake. RE4-7 & the RE2 remake are nothing like the original PS1 games that remain classics and the peak of the series, and anyone who says they're below a 7 is underage or retarded and can't get past the tank controls

>but it's just RE6 in the Resident Evil 2 scenario

jesus christ stop talking you fucking faggot retard

OTS camera is garbage and all the handholding poiting out where you need to go doesn't help the game at all. original RE2 is miles better.

Original RE2 is better but you are being a hyperbolic retard calling it RE6.

It's definitely my GOTY.

non-ironic boomer here and it (along with dmc5) are my favorites of the last year

Ive played all the numbered resident evils
And the remakes of 1 and 2 are the best in the series.

1 needs the remake more. And REmake is very true to the original so it's like the ultimate RE game. OG 2 stands tall on it's own, it's a ps1 game that aged great like mgs1 or crash 2. The new game was actually very fun and the devs didn't butcher the 90sness or resident evilyness so I'm happy that people are getting into the series. These people saying it's their first should bother me, but fuck it. Remake 2 is a fun game. But tank controls and retro survival horror isnt inaccessible, y'all should try remake1 or original 2 sometime.

Ive never finished re3. It's like 2 again but less focused. Original 1 is alright, and the voice acting is hysterical but it's clunk.

4 is great fun. Personally I really liked 5 SO LONG AS YOU PLAY WITH A FRIEND and not the AI. I liked 7 too even though it's very different. Don't listen to anyone on Yea Forums and make your own opinions. Play the games yourselves.

re6 sucks massive dick and I hate it. Total slog of a game with reused areas everywhere. Such a big budget turd that just fails to deliver in so many ways. Ive liked all the directions the series has taken, re1tank, re4action, re5co-op, re7firstpersonstreamerbait, and I think re2remake is the direction they should go forward with. Re3make will be great and should keep hardcore fans and newcomers happy. Re6 was a shooting gallery cheesy soulless nu-actionmovie shock

you totally forgot about Code Veronica, is mainline too and probably have one of the best stories in the series.

RE6 actually had good gameplay and was 30 hours long

Yep, it's RE5 for me

it's terribly atmospheric, controls are tight, but there are some issues. zombies are bullet sponges and for some people that ruins the gameplay, but IMO if you want to kill everything just unlock the unlimited ammo weapons and do a playthrough with those.

Another issue is the lack of enemy variety, which is just inexcusable. they could've put two more enemy types in the game with very little effort and it would've made the late game much more interesting. as it is, there are like seven enemy types.

those are the only problems I can think of

I've never played it so I'm not about to comment on it. Should I give it a shot of I liked all the other games? And what version should I get? I'm thinking dreamcast

The Alligator part is basically just a Resi 6 chase sequence

the ps2/hd versions have more stuff/cutscenes. of course, if you like classic Resident Evil is a fantastic game and probably the best one with Claire.

WOAH user THAT MAKES THE WHOLE GAME RE6! GIVE IT A 65% METACRITIC WAT R U DOIN
