He only killed Love Sausage and the rest of the Boys because they were the only ones that could have stopped him. Which makes sense as comics are meant for children, but even Injustice wasn't released until like 2012. You had Alan Moore doing similar things with Watchmen in the late 80s, but I'm struggling to think of another big series with this theme that predates that.

There's a brothel for super heroes. That's the biggest heroine in the world. She fucks the hood guy because she was tricked into it, fucks the old guy because no reason other than shock value and explain some minor plot point.

Hitman really deserves more exposure. Ennis turned a character from a shitty event everyone forgot about shortly after into a story that is better than some of the best mainline titles.

How does that not fit Butcher's character? His backstory and actions throughout the book blatantly spelt out he was a destructive person in general and would raze the earth to get something he wants. Becca was the only person that dulled his worse instincts but when she died they just completely consumed him and he became even worse. Killing Homelander/Black Noir would never satisfy him, he'd come to hate the very concept of superheroes (which again, was blatantly spelled out throughout the entire run) and he couldn't rest without taking them all out.

Anyone else enjoy the show? They took a lot of stuff in different directions but I really like how they tried to give dimensions to some of the more one-note characters. Homelander in particular was genuinely unsettling and I really liked the little arc that the Deep had going on.

They actually kind of answer this in the comics. First off, the corporations basically keep them supplied with as much money, sex, and drugs as they want to keep them nice and compliant. Second, Vought usually just used Homelander and other heroes to kill of supes that got to big for their britches and tried to rebel. They also had some options to take care of problems themselves with stuff like depleted uranium rounds. Not to mention the Boys themselves are a nice deterrent. Third, only a handful are truly powerful. The rest can be taken care with fairly conventional means and most of the heavy hitters are in Vought's pockets.

They do end up trying to take over the world once Homelander starts pushing the idea but they're eventually taken care of by the military thanks to missile tracking that allows fighter jets to take out some of the more mobile targets.

They decided to make Hughie an American because they think yanks are too moronic to identify with a main character who doesn't speak in an American accent perfectly. Amazon has an extensive history of this kind of shit, try to tell me it's fake and this show is the single exception to their bullshittery. Their offer to Simon was entirely for show and I wouldn't even be slightly surprised if they told him not to accept it or else.
