>Defeat 2 metal slimes after casting Wizard Ward
>mange to somehow get 6 in one fight and kill them all before any of them run
>level up twice because of it.
good times.
I only ever played dragon quest heroes: rocket slime, give me a quick rundown on metal slimes
You get lots of experience if you kill one. They like to run away.
>metal king slime beelzebuzz trick in DQ8
The vocation quests were some serious bullshit.
>regular enemy is harder than 70% of the bosses
If you level up, your body gets harder.
>Replay DQVIII with the 3DS rerelease
>Enemy spawn manipulation is free
Once I hit endgame and could get to the slime hill it only took a couple hours to hit max level by manipulating king spawns
Meanwhile in the PS2 version it takes fucking hours to even reach level 60
I know that feel
>regular enemy is flat out hardest in the game
>Metal slime A flees
>Metal slime B flees
>Metal slime C flees
>Metal slime D flees
>Metal slime E flees
>Metal slime F flees

YOU LITTLE NIGGERS GET BACK HERE
How is anything in that game hard with the amount of rollspam you can do.
What is the trick to defeating Metal Slimes really?High damage attacks and then just hoping they hit?
Depends on the game, but your overall best bet when Metal Slash isn't enough and you don't have high enough stats to negate their defenses is banking it on statuses that can incapacitate them and using a weapon that has a chance to instakill or Hatchet Man.
>popping one of these fuckers with a double barrel right as they're about to hit you
One of the sweetest feeling in all of FPS.
Am I getting things mixed up completely?
Those are ranged enemies that throw very slow moving chain-shot cannon ball projectiles at you.
Depends on the game. DQ1 and 2 it's just random praying for crit, although you can get falcon blade in 2.
3 and 4 the martial artist is your best bet - they have the highest crit chance and Alena in 4 an get falcon earrings, which murder the metal slimes with ease. You can also get speshul liquid metal sword, but since it can only be used by slow characters I never found it to be too great. One of the best parts of using a martial artist for metal slime hunting is their speed allowing them to go first, before the slimes have a chance to escape.
>Meteorite bracer
>Über falcon blade
>Metal Slash
Nothin' Personnel
>speed allowing them to go first, before the slimes have a chance to escape
>"Did no damage to the slime"
No, they do indeed throw bolas at you, but their main way of attacking is getting into close range and then pouncing on you, which is the part that deals the most damage. They are also frequently positioned in ambushes, where they just pounce on you straight away.
wrong image OP
Yeah, that happens usually, but hunting for metal slimes is all about stacking the chances in your favour, there's no 100%. Why let them roll an escape chance when you can put your attack before that?
fuck these niggers, at least the persona 5 equivalent can be cheesed with the gun special attack
You're not supposed to be able to cheese them.
Who? The treasure demons or the golden hands? I don't care that they're not "supposed" to be cheesed, they're aids.
