So he's glad he doesn't listen to music
The PUBG clone?
The one who had Drake on it, you know, the most popular artist of all time?
What a stupid picture
You can't be this out of touch.
you can listen to music without wearing apple shit
unironically skyrim is the most influential game in the past decade. look at all the open world games that came after skyrim
Who tf is drake? Is he a rapper like Leglock?
those are air pods dipshit
What..........
What kind of game was Oblivion?
minecraft is great and made a lot of money but its nowhere near as "influential" as half life with the way it pushed the whole industry forward
good thing OP said "in the last decade" then
I really hope you mistakenly missed typing the 2 in there
I really hope you aren’t so retarted that you think the first one had anything more than a splash in the bucket
>half life
>past decade
also more games have copied survival/crafting/environmental alteration than have copied things from half life
Why are you defending OP? You a faggot too?
>having a story at all
They took that from Half-Life
Are you retarded? OP is talking about the past decade, you dunce.
literally who?
It's a bit of a meme to say it, but Dark Souls was easily one of the most influential games of this decade just for how it changed the industry's perception of what players wanted. Suddenly every studio was leaping to create "the Dark Souls of [insert genre here]".
Lmao, looks like we have a dick sucker on our hands, bois
No, that is and always will be Breath of the Wild
You mean game journalism suddenly used Dark Souls as the standard
The industry didn’t change at all, you fucking fake gamer
Just a nigger. He's not the most famous artist by far
minecraft is up there, don't know if I'd say most, it had it's heyday but it died really quick. I'd say fortnite is about as influential as minecraft was at it's peak. Fortnite has had major TV appearances and people who play fortnite have even started appearing in traditional media. It's really a wild change from how minecraft's popularity affected it.
If fortnite sticks around another year without dying entirely, I think it'll surpass minecraft in regards to influence on gaming in general.
If nothing else, fortnite was the tidal wave that broke the dam of crossplay restrictions.
minecraft isn't a very good game, but zoomers love it so i dunno
What game has come out since BotW that can honestly be said to be directly influenced?
Yes, it did. It broke a lot of what had been trending towards games that were all but impossible to lose coddling the player at every step.
It annoys me that virtually every game that "tried to be like Dark Souls" completely missed the point. "Make it difficult" doesn't work when there's no thought put into enemy and level design, background lore, etc
>You mean game journalism suddenly used Dark Souls as the standard
That's an example of influence
>The industry didn’t change at all, you fucking fake gamer
Yes it fucking did, the amount of trash that spawned from various devs attempting to imitate what they thought made Dark Souls good was staggering
>not most famous
He literally just beat the Beatles so, UUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH
bad bait
you're only right about the crossplay thing
>using game journalism as any sort of stands of real gamers
holy cringe
>name a game in the past decade
>"haLF LifE!!!!1!111!"
>that came out over 20 years ago...
>"LmaO StOP SuKCING OPS CoCK!!1!!
You alright there, buddy?
Past bed time, boomer?
name 1 original thing fortnite did
Two genders
I'm really not baiting, fortnite has the benefit of having had ninja as a major 'face' of the game. Minecraft didn't have that. Minecraft is significantly more marketing and toy friendly, absolutely. But fortnite's a cultural revolution and people who watch others play fortnite is almost an acceptable thing to do now. Minecraft youtube videos are still seen as autist shit.
Just look at it user. the times they came out in, if reversed would have lead likely to similar results. But fortnite drew the long straw.
Watching all these people play the latest versions makes me feel like I'm playing a beta with my 360 edition.
I tried playing Terraria to compensate, it's a fucking slow grind and 10 hours in I finally have lead armor, but I can't mine anymore without my shit getting pushed in. Every time I want to fuck around on the surface there's a weather condition or I have to fucking wait through the night.
Why make a game with no option to wait out unfavorable conditions? Should I make a better base and attract NPCs or start farming to get potions up and running?
Nobody mentioned "real gamers' but you. "The Dark Souls of " becoming prevalent is absolutely an example of influence
>near as "influential" as half life with the way it pushed the whole industry forward
>only thing useful half life did was face flexes
>litterally no one uses them
>worst part about half life was never ending ingame cutscenes
>walk and talk corridors in every single game for the later half of 2000s and still a ton of them this decade
HL2 honestly didn't do much of anything.
Hell ingame cutscenes wasn't even a new thing.
and mark ass brown lee
Do you believe there is no divide between real and cattle gamers?
1: Minecraft
2: Dark Souls
3: DayZ
Please explain dayz’s influence
there was a point in time where the market was obsessed with zombie survival shit
but I suppose that's more in line with minecraft
indirectly the most influential are probably
arma 3
FNaF
Slender
paladins
spelunky
titan fall 1
Minecraft probably helped the indie resurgance but I denno.
Fortnite
You mean L4D clones?
WHAT GAMES ARE FNAF CLONES
L4D is not zombie survival, it's a linear shooting range.
I'm talking open worlds with crafting elements.
>Do you believe there is no divide between real and cattle gamers?
There's a massive divide, but that has nothing to do with the discussion. The industry is not propped up by "real gamers" alone, and the OP didn't say anything specific about real gamers, journos, etc. Back to the original point in - gaming journos using Dark Souls as a measure of a game's difficulty is an example of major influence within the games industry as a whole. When was the last time you heard Battletoads' difficulty used as a metric since Souls got popular?
>arma 3
I'd argue Arma 2 - the Battle Royale, DayZ and Wasteland mods all started in 2, and it was Greene's work on the BR mod that eventually got him hired for H1Z1 which really kickstarted the genre
>I'd argue Arma 2
Nvm I'm a retard and forgot we were talking only the last decade
unironically you're a fucking idiot, skyrim did basically nothing to improve the elder scrolls formula
half life was the most influential game of the past decade so im making a comparison
yeah well that goes without saying
There are hundreds of fan games out there. Budding devs inspired by fanfiction.
>half life was the most influential game of the past decade
not when it came out in 1998 and nowhere near the past decade
overall? definitely
What's it feel like to listen to literal shit. You are better off fishin a log out of the toilet and shoving it in your ear than listening to anything that hack puts out.
im obviously talking about the second one which recieved the award we are discussing mister are you missing the point on purpose? have I fallen into your chasm of tricks?
drake is not shit though?
Half Life 2 came out in 2004, buddy. Try again.
Latest entry in the series came out in 2007
drake is rap-lite for women and homos
"airpods" suck ass and apple fans are cultists.
most of nu-drake is, yeah
you right
damn its 2020 already huh
That's not the Eagles.
How did this happen? I don't think I know a single person who listens to Drake.
"Gamers" is a word used by zoomers
No, it's 2019 and the last 10 years cuts off at 2009, a timeframe in which no Half Life game has released, unless you count fan remakes such as Black Mesa.
Your personal opinion doesn't dictate popularity. What kind of self important faggot do you have to be to believe this? I don't even listen to drake, that doesn't change the fact that he's literally bigger than the Beatles.
Same. Haven't heard of the guy since his Hotline meme shit like 3-4 years ago
The Pharcyde played fortnite?
What did he mean by this?
how do zoomers listen to this shit
>slender
I get the argument of "Fnaf inspired people to make games", but with this your opinion is fully discarded
>posing a statement as a question
why do zoomers do this
The popularity surrounding this music is a placebo effect that makes people believe that what they're listening to is good.
I mean, it's plagued music for generations but it's particularly bad here. No rhythm, no point, no soul, shit's dry as hell.
>fingers audiophiles for years
>suddenly proclaims wired is dead
>"media" and the apple cult agree wholeheartedly
I'm not sure about the most, but it sure as fuck influenced the crafting meme and helped play a part with bringing back low-poly.
Hello, zoomers.
I legit never heard of this dude. And i hang around people who listen to nothing but nigger music.
How did it take you 10 hours to get basic shit?
