Under c-consciousness (stalker hivemind) Monolith literally get their bones shattered and flesh rended by grenades and sniper bullets and keep on fighting, it's canon this way. They also always use the highest quality armor piercing ammo for their weapons and have long range sniper rifles (some have gauss rifles). An average, non-exoskeleton monolith roughly equates to the best of the best #1 Rangers like Miller, Hunter or Artyom. Plus, armor piercing rounds are very rare and I still doubt they would pierce actual metal/ceramic plates of expert monolith armor. Again, rangers just wear kevlar or scrapped metal, which is not much.
Maybe yours, mine can take half a dozen VSS rounds and regenerates with artefacts. I don't know about plot armor, on max difficulty, artyom dies from 3 mutant bites or one librarian smack.

That's going to be super useful in cramped underground tunnels that the Monolith have no tactical knowledge of. A huge part of the Metro universe is how attuned the population have become to living and fighting in the Metro tunnels. They have rail-tanks, they set up explosive booby-traps, and there are hundreds of maintenance corridors and side tunnels that only the locals know about. It would be beyond easy for the Metro inhabitants to hide squads, and when Monolith engages their fortified front lines, surround them. If things got too desperate, they would rig tunnels to collapse with explosives and literally bury the Monolith squads alive in rubble, at least the Reds have the fanatical zeal to sacrifice hundreds of soldiers for an operation like this, and the other factions too if Monolith was murdering everyone.

Monolith already proved they can destroy Strelok/Scar in the tight CNPP compartments and can easily maneuver around any enemy because they are a hivemind. They have limitless nightvision that doesn't hinder their field of view and supposedly the military grade helmets have automatic targeting like the STALKER binoculars. I think they will be fine with surveying the environment and I doubt they would find trouble in wasting some charging reds with shitty kevlar.
In fact, everything I've seen in metro is corridors and long railroads. Maybe the first battle with the nazis vs reds would be a good ambush point.

It's literally a dude with a minigun that can get downed 300m away. The americans didn't/don't have the technology, let alone abilities Monolith have. Those guys can teleport anywhere around the CNPP but I'll keep that as an isolated case.
Really the Metro guys have flashlights and nightvisions that barely function and need to be recharged. Monolith have limitless gas masks and full field of view nightvision.

I don't see how that happened other than the cutscenes showing him in his shitty hoodie with a rusty AK. I have tried taking just a regular bandit jacket and 3/4 reliability AK to CNPP and quit after the 10th death. There is no way to do it even if you try headshotting monolith. Artyom literally dies to one swipe of a demon or two bites of a mutant, what a joke. in clear sky, my upgraded bulat dude could handle a full haymaker of a pseudogiant, and I guarantee a pseudogiant could rip a librarian in two.

Canon states that Strelok can murder any Monolith with barely any armour and an AKM. Canon also states that despite the potential danger, Artyom can kill anyone and anything in nuked Russia with refurbished weapons and trash bullets.

It's just lazy, unimaginative ukrainian programmers who settle for the first equipment you get in the game to make it cheap. Artyom just barely makes it tying his shoe without a PRESS E TO WIN cutscene and almost dying to a common monster. It's just luck. But it is quite literally *impossible* to beat CNPP with a shitty broken AKM. Literally.

No it isn't. If they're wearing armor that can stop 7.62, then they can't move or stay upright for long periods of time without an exoskeleton. If the are wearing an exoskeleton, then they aren't particularly fast, especially with the unwieldy shit they use. For them to move fast or for long periods of time in either case, their bodies would simply break down and stop functioning due to the inability of their bodies handling that stress. No amount of emotional magic is going to allow someone to move their limbs when their muscles have stopped functioning and their ligaments are torn to shreds. Strelok beats Monolith everytime.

Stalkers literally tell stories of monolith who would shoot from prone because their legs were shot, then try to headbang their enemies because their arms were as well. We're talking about actual zombies, not humans with normal nervous systems.

All modern military-grade ceramic armor can stop multiple .308 and x54r with ease and freely sprint around. It's not that heavy. It's just that exoskeletons take away almost all of the weight. In call of pripyat, you can upgrade the servomotors to SPRINT with an exoskeleton.
