Why did they give the starting gun the ability to paint and insta-kill everything? It feels like I'm playing RDR or that shit Splinter Cell whenever I use it. Its more effective and reliable than explosives on the higher difficulties.

Not gonna lie, the weapons and enemies get kinda boring after a few hours. A weapon and enemies mod would be a godsend.

nah unity by design doesnt really let players mod in their own stuff unless the dev specifically implements ways to do it. this isnt that hard bc unity has stuff like assetbundles which give the dev and easy way to read and load files as unity assets but it isnt mod-friendly out the box like build engine which has been up for modding since the 90's

They've got some pretty cunning secrets. There's one on the final mission in zone 1 I'm trying to figure out where there's a vent hidden in a corner next to a vending machine with one of those electric conduits in it that's on a timer. Still need to figure out what the fuck it even triggers.

There are a lot of instances where I feel like I'm outsmarting the game by going off the beaten path only for that to be the intended route.

There are 2 hidden generators and you need to activate both to open that blast door next to the vending machines. The second one is immediately to the left right as you leave the hall into the courtyard, behind some vines. That's the only secret I could find in that level. I can see the Breaking Bad roof pizza secret, but fuck if I know how to get up there.

The other secret is in a dumpster to the right of the exit

If it's not a hand-drawn texture (ie, standing next to signs with lights by them won't affect your first-person sprite), then it's legitimate sector usage and colored lighting to simulate shadows. IdTech and Build are archaic that way, there were no such things as shadows and all of it was mapped in the same way the walls and objects were made to begin with..

You can paint for less than a second, give the game a try.
