Golden sun or chrono trigger? which is better?

Golden Sun has a terrible plot, shitty characters and awful dialogue.

I've only played Golden Sun but from what i've heard about CT, I'll have to say CT. But I still really enjoy Golden Sun for what it is.

I'll never understand Yea Forums's obsession with Issac and Golden Sun in general. It's an ugly, below average RPG. Large chunks of the first game are a slog, and the second one is absurdly boring. Even comparing it to chrono trigger is a joke.
Every scene has godawful wooden dialogue, which is then repeated by the old man. The combat is either (99%) brainless attack and summon mashing, or using a specific combination of the ugly Pokemon to unlock protective magic and turtling up because a boss is massively difficult.
The only "cool" thing is the psi puzzles, and that's just shuffling your gremlins until you get the right abilities. I know most of Yea Forums is underage parroting a few fags constantly screeching about how this is one of the greats without ever playing it. Anyone who hasn't played this in years really needs to run through it again. See how long you can last without using Turbo, then see how far you get in 2 without a guide.
There's a reason a lineless protagonist from a generic rpg didn't make it into smash and never will. The quest 64 protag isn't going to be a newcomer either.

Chrono Trigger, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Trigger.
Golden Sun is great, but Chrono Trigger is just amazing in every sense, it doesnt overstay its welcome, it doesnt have a bunch of dialogue, you feel like some of the mechanics actually matter (the only thing ive ever used consistently in GS is Psynergy Lock), at the end you have sidequests pertinent to the charachters while Golden Sun is more about the journey and less about the charachters.

Sure the story is barebones but it servicable for the first time going through. I play them once every year to 100% completion and i still love it, has some of my favorite dungeons. I will say that it's really easy, especially in re-plays where you know what to do, thank god for the Reloaded patch, really shows how interesting and fun the customization/classes are.

Chrono Trigger was great until that 16yo girl accidentally created a time machine. Broke my immersion completely, Golden Sun never does anything like that

I still don't get this. I get not liking a game, hating it for some reason even, but looking out for and shitposting every thread related to that game just doesn't make sense to me.
