Which modpack is good for a good mix of tech.magic and adventure?
I used to play tekkit classic cause it was simple but fun so something like that would be really nice
Minecraft modpacks

that place is too messy and they continue conversations through threads so i never know what they are talking about
I always go with FTB Crackpack. Honestly though I havent played much modded minecraft in that last year or so, I might be a little out of touch.
Gregtech New Horizons
Are these as simple as tekkit? I liked how you could have pipes and different chests for organising and how simple they all were it was very comfy
I want a modpack that makes it more like Terraria. Focus on Combat and Adventure, and I want some clear goals, whether they be bosses or something.
Does anyone not have any tekkit like modpacks?
"Green Survival" on the Technic page.
It runs on 1.7.10 and it's very beefy. Full of everything but no unbalanced mods. It's my modpack but I don't think the files are hosted anymore so whatever. Check the description for the mod list and see if you like and of them. You might find some good shit.
thx user ill check it out
This actually looks interesting whats it really about?
I'll try this out, thank you kindly user.
its a pack made by autists for autists
they have revamped ALL the recipes (even the vanilla ones) around a really deep tech mod called gregtech and they put everything through different ages that you have to progress through
although its a bit grindy but every tier has quests that will guide you slowly and help you progress and move forward and start from a lowly caveman that goes to space to mine new ores to push into fusion age where everything is automated
it's a huge time sink that you have to put a lot of time into but when you make progress its the most satisfying shit there is
also even the magic mods that are in it are integrated with tech mods and it's one of the most fleshed out modpacks there is
you are either going to love this pack or hate it on the first week because of how "hard" it can be at the times but if you push through it and manage to live up to steam age you will become a man that can brag about his strong autism power
I forgot the picture
Seems very autistic i kinda just want something i can play forever
GT New Horizons takes like a year to finish if you play in singleplayer
I have over 280 hours played in one world and i'm maybe 25% through the pack
But what do you mean by finish how do you finish minecraft>?
progression through different ages with different technologies
you finish minecreaft when you have fusion reactors and enough pollution that you have to wear a hazmat suit at all times on earth and have a space base on every planet
you get a questbook
there are over 1500 quests IIRC
So is this like the big modpack that everyone plays now? What about project ozone and stuff like that? Are there any comfy modpacks where the focus is on gardens/farming/building
>everyone plays now
GTNH existed from 2016 so its not new flavor of the month modpack
>What about project ozone and stuff like that?
those were flavor of the month packs and most people finished it and moved on into new packs
>Are there any comfy modpacks where the focus is on gardens/farming/building
most packs like that are centered around pams fat fuck craft so they are not worth bothering
check out Life in The Village
pams harvest craft looks fun. Just downloaded GTNH though
pams harvest craft looks fun but it's literally "wheat re-texture for 300 plants" without any cool new plants or mechanics added in
with spice of life along with pams you at least have a reason to plant something other than wheat but there are still plenty of other food and farming mod that add content that are not just the same plant with different color pallet
>Just downloaded GTNH though
make sure to drop by in /vg/ so I can know if you were the part that loved it or hated it
Well its had two errors so far and wont boot but i did get it from teh twitch app. Switching to techinic version now
make sure you dedicated more ram in the launcher otherwise most modded packs won't start
Sevtech ages is kinda interesting, you start in stone age and by completing achievements you gain access to new technologies and progress to new ages
Or you could try a "kitchen sink" type of modpack. These aren't really balanced but can be really fun since they simply have shitloads of mods including tech, magic, exploration, building etc. Check out popular modpacks in some launcher like the twitch launcher, ATlauncher, Technic etc.
i did i think
ill dedicate 5gb
>sevtech ages
please don't recommend that garbage to anyone, especially since it forces progression through absolutely garbage mods like abysalcraft
github.com
Unless you like grind and recipes being tweaked to slow you down as much as possible, avoid anything with Gregtech in it. It's a Masochist mod.
If you want easy modpack searching, use the Twitch launcher > Mods > Minecraft > Browse the huge-ass list of every ftb modpack and then some, and it has an option to install your own modpacks too.
The last pack I used was Dimension Zero and it's been quite a fun change from the usual Kitchen Sink and Skyblock-style modpacks.
Do 6GB for the Max and 1GB for the Min right after it in the advanced settings for best results. 5 is pushing your luck.
Just be aware that Gregtech is extremely hardcore and autistic. Mods in tekkit got nothing on it, they're literally tutorial mode compared to GT
The 1.7.10 pack, aswell as All The Mods are pretty good, even if the latter is pretty taxing on performance
your best bet is to make it yourself, it's pretty easy, especially if you use MultiMC
>Just be aware that Gregtech is extremely hardcore and autistic
and thats a good thing!
It's only "hardcore" in that it not only changes recipes but adds in extra, pointless steps just to make you take longer to get shit done. There's nothing challenging about having to turn iron into plates into wires into papier mache buttholes before being able to build an iron pickaxe
how's TNFC?
filtered casual that didn't make it far enough to unlock the machines that do those for you more efficiently
its called realism dummy you can't just use your hands to bend iron plates
really fun and different approach to minecraft
>like thaumcraft 6 because the visual effects are nice as fuck, especially that one spell that opens a portable hole
>it's dead in the water
>like astral sorcery because constellation finding is maximum comfy
>it's unbalanced as fuck and really, really ugly
>like crucial because it's a nice bundle of vanilla+ stuff despite not having any good magic shit
>it's got like half of the best stuff disabled by default because the pack creator is autistic
i fucking hate this game
