Ranger is actually extremely good against aliens. Just shoot their helmet with about 20 sniper shots, then it should break open. Then you simply wait for them to inhale enough air pollution to die, easy.

Can someone tell me what a Ranger is suppose to do in Mission 99? He's so fucking useless even when trying to play support. I don't feel like I'm contributing to the battle at all.

Yeah, having them spraying their shit sideways sort of killed us 2 or 3 times.

If you mean 99 online, the best thing you can do is fight the flying enemies. Dunkel the bees and tadpoles, then bike around and revive/heal people who die. Most of that level just plays itself, the only thing to worry about are the heavy ayys and the flying enemies.

Ranger is certainly the most fun.

One of my favorite things in EDF5 is Ranger Bolt-Action Sniper vs. Type 1 drones, normal or red.
There is just something very relaxing about it.

In fairness to him unless they're all on the same spot and have aggro on the same target they can end up saturating a whole area with acid i.e it's not the mother you're underneath that kills you, it's the mother 30 meters away trying to hit the person underneath it that does.

Why did they remove the ability to get into vehicles while rolling? It's gotten me killed so many times.

You have to wait until the rolling animation is completely done so you're just standing there for a second and half the time you get knocked back by something before you can get in.

Generally just more enemies, faster projectiles, faster movement. New & more frequent mutants, sometimes missions have additional waves. Inferno aliens will just deadass sprint at you. They have more health too, but your weapon dps generally scales to match/beat it.

It's the last line that fails to to be any sort of cherry on top. It's like the guy was writing it at the 11th hour with the voice actors at the door and threw in a lame rhyme to get it done. "The EDF deploys" had the potential to be iconic. Oh well.

It's worse than EDF 4 song, but it grew on me after the ending.
