The character building can be rewarding both if you micromanage or just set genera goals and the story is the first I’ve been invested in since the GC games. I couldn’t even finish a single route of Fates cause the story and characters sucked so much, so I wasn’t expecting to like this game at all

There is none, all routes work fine in any order.
That said, BL is best for first impressions because it is the most simple and straight forward of the routes, focusing mainly on character drama. The other routes all peel away and explain details and lore surrounding the events covered in BL, or show alternative perspectives and different character motivations. BL is the character and drama driven route that has the most basic and straight forward perspective of the underlying conflict, while the other routes are all subversions of that central conflict in one form or another. Your perspective of the BL is completely different depending on whether you do it first or not because of this. Also, the central twist of the game (which you likely already know very well if you are posting here) is best presented and at it's twistiest in the BL route.

So for these reasons, I'd say do BL first, and then do all the other routes afterwords, without a strict order. As long as BL is first.
