Act I has a rather unusual and unique disheveled, static feeling to it, an attempt to incorporate the dystopian, crumbling high-tech future into the very music itself. It's got a ton of great songs that either do a lot or set up for huge moments to come with little to no down time between tracks. Act I is also effectively the core of The Protomen's work; the self-defeating weakness of mankind and its dependency on others to do everything for it. Act II, while fantastic, only adds extra flesh to that idea via backstory. Perhaps the reason it's taken so long for an Act III to exist is because Act I neatly tells and solidifies the core message as is. Finally, it probably helps that all the key figures in Act I are from the actual Mega Man series, whereas Act II only has Thomas Light and Albert Wily.

I saw them live recently. Killroy got off the stage at the end of the show, walked over and hugged me, and then walked away without hugging anyone else.
It was really surreal.
