No Man's Sky

God, why is this game such a piece of shit. I bought this for 50% off to use with my PSVR and there's nothing going on. I have like 4 planets to fuck with, no enemies and I am forced to grind it out, collecting various minerals and resources. I thought this game was vastly improved. Does it get better? The VR experience sucks, it's blurry.

>psvr
>didn't follow the guide to get you out of the solar system

Did people seriously just ignore all the bullshit that happened during the launch just because they got free DLC?

did people seriously ignore the fact the company is trying to fix the issues it had and isn't asking for money for it?

>psvr
>its blurry!!!
of course you're running on a glorified ti84 lmao

>uses the shittiest of VR headsets
>its blurry

this is the console retardation people

>start game
>fuck it ironman lmao i aint no pussy
>instantly thrown on high rad planet with constant storms
>die
>sit thorugh 20 minute loading screen
>high rad constant storm planet
>sit through 20 minute loading screen
>high rad constant storm planet
>keep running around grabbing retarded shit while trying to keep sodium and o2 intake high despite them being rare as fuck
>Get out finally
>base building tut planet has hostile senitels that instantly attack you the moment you get scanned
>mfw have to keep burying myself all the time to hide from the shitheaps can't peacefully even grab a knowledge stone
its kinda comfy now but fuck senitels and fuck muh gamedesign of even it being possible to be dropped on a fucking hostile planet during tut

Attached: 1564367672070.jpg (1024x1024, 122K)

the storms are forced to teach people to make a hole in the ground until the storm stops.

>PSVR
theres your problme ya retard

Attached: srhetdhdt.jpg (123x114, 4K)

If I want a game where I can do whatever I want I'd rather just play Elona.

>psvr
lmao snoy tards

They're asking 60 bucks for a 15 bucks game.

It's pretty easy to get for 50%+ off

Still twice more than what it's worth.

wow, I should immediately buy that game literally as a "you tried" award to the company.

So what you're saying is you're a pussy after all.

Are you playing it on a base PS4 or PS4 Pro?

Go in youre ship if eye robot guy agro you

PS4 Pro. It's bad. I am hoping they do an update for pro users, because it's bad. It's almost unplayable because of the blurriness.

>>sit thorugh 20 minute loading screen
are you exaggerating? because that sounds horrible.

>dat feel when SSD on PC and loading isn't even 30 seconds

> the company is trying to fix the issues it had and isn't asking for money for it?
are you ignoring that they asked more than it was worth and all the "free updates" are already paid for by the money they got for nothing?
it is as "free" as the "free games" you get on services that have monthly subscriptions, i.e. you paid for it.

and even in its fixed state, it is an overpriced, lackluster game, and they are still asking full price, that it was never worth, more than 2 years after launch.
the entire thing is a giant dupery, and you are not only falling for it, you are defending it, you retard.

it's a decent game but current patch literally broke it

It's a star system, not "a" Solar System. There's only one Solar System, the one with Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, etc.
They're not interchangeable.

>to use with my PSVR
Ah, found your problem.

>Alfa Centaurians being this mad

I bought this (PC) solely for the multiplayer; turns out its not open lobby you need to invite friends, I have no friends who play NMS.
fuck that shit; it is essentially a single player game now, AGAIN. So may as well have pirated it

ssd and loading is like a few mins

Holy autism, I bought this yesterday and had zero problems surviving. Only died once in first 5 minutes because I had no idea jetpack fuel will run out so fast.

Whatever you say nerd.

>make a hole in the ground to hide from storm
The only correct answer when it comes to storms is to fight it head on.

>find this shitheap on a planet in the starter system
>claim it
>game bugs out and I can’t get back in my old ship
>”fuck it if I’m gonna have a big ship I’m at least gonna get it nice”
>proceed to spend 3+ hours on the same planet mining resources to fix it
>get it fixed
>now have big boy ship with bonus techs and I haven’t even left the starter system
Feels good mateys

Is there any good review on this game now days? I don't really wanna download and try it for myself because to this day it's the only game that has froze by PS4, and it did it 6/7 times and I don't wanna risk it.

What do the ayyz in this game look like?

Ironman mode fell for the artificial difficulty meme pretty hard unfortunately.

>Every planet is a shithole
>Can barely do anything except replenish basic needs
>Get annihilated by first pirate you encounter in one or two hits

I never played NMS so I thought I'd pirate the GOG copy of Beyond. Honestly I went into this with the lowest expectations and I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a bit grindy but there's enough content to keep me engaged, plus the music and general atmosphere can really hit you.

NMS VR is the only good vr game on the market, and that says a lot.
Prove me wrong.

I really liked this game, but I got stuck in the Weapons Research quest. I couldnt find my armourer or researcher again after finishing that quest. And because it takes resources to travel I got bored and uninstalled.

The only thing I don't like so far is that every planet has life. Game really needs dead wastelands like Mars.

>noh fee sluts in suit inventree
Why the fuck do they have an ai voice that uses British """""""english"""""""? it's barely understandable.

Just kill me now.

You can find desolate planets. They're usually in dead systems. I made a base on a barren moon but it orbited an enormous barren world and it constantly filled up the skyline, kinda spooked me out so I abandoned the base.

and space look like spoiled milk
game is not very immersive

Nout wrong wit queen's english ya daft basterd so shut yer gob

What are you actually looking for? Coz if you're gonna say Peter Molyneux's wet dream in space then I'm afraid you'll never get that.

Is tutorial really that hard to say? What is with you fucking faggots talking like niggers and shortening everything? If you didn’t know how to spell it, you’re sitting at a computer and could have googled it.

subnautica in space? decent chunk of game is story driven but it has sandbox aspect to it?

80% of Yea Forums is phoneposting, why do you think the quality of every board dropped so hard after moot added phone-friendly functionality?

Can you play it? It’s playable. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s unplayable. Stupid entitled fuck up thinks if it isn’t perfect for him it’s unplayable lol. Unplayable means the game literally cannot be played as in it freezes on start or doesn’t load or fucks up in a way that is unable to be played. You’re a piece of shit and should kill your self you stupid American.

It's because the sun is actually called Sol in astronomical terms.
Piss off ya plonka, grab a lorry and head right off Dover why don't you

That's No Man's Sky if you follow the Artemis/Atlas questlines. There's always the Outer Wilds as well I guess but it's more of a puzzle game

ooooh gomenasai Kugariwata-san, i have much shame for bring disonna to Sony name-u prease provide wakizashi foa me to perform hara-kiri

yeah, but no man's sky got x10 more grinding than subnautica and kills it for me
yes I know tehre are mods, but they do not make solar systems into proper solar systems. they all are shit.
elite space+ subnautica level design and story+NMS freedom would do it for me

I think the closest thing to what i want would be star citizen, and by this i mean the concept of star citizen.

Lmao no it isn't you fucking liar. Maybe if your PC is trash. I play with a gtx 1060, ryzen 2500, and off an SSD and it takes maybe 30 seconds at most. Pre patch, it would take several minutes, maybe up to 10-15 but never 20+

Are you by any chance retarded?

Probably talking about psvr.

I'm not a blind hater of SC, some of the tech I've seen so far is as impressive as (if not more than) No Man's Sky, but I don't think the Persistent Universe will be in a playable state for at least another 5 years or so. I have more hopes for Squadron 42 considering it's singleplayer only but then again it's a campaign as opposed to a sandbox.

The hype didn't last very long, eh?

>Stupid entitled fuck up thinks if it isn’t perfect for him it’s unplayable lol.
>You’re a piece of shit and should kill your self you stupid American.

Nah, even on the objectively shittiest way to play it (og ps4 vr) it's still pretty fun.

Tip from an expat: if someone online gets unreasonably aggressive and pissy at you and calls you an american as an insult, it's usually a britbong with mad insecurities

I have no idea what you're talking about besides the blurriness
So far for me it's been the only game I've found to be worth a shit on psvr
I have already spent hours in it, unlike every other psvr game I've wasted money on. And once it's Pro patched the blurriness will improve.
It's fun and comfy walking around, flying, exploring, meeting people, with some music on in the background, or a podcast. The first time I took off into space was well worth the 25 alone. And knowing the game's gonna be getting more and more major content updates makes me very glad I purchased it.
Don't take OPs word for it. If you own a psvr and you like comfy, buy no mans sky. If you just want action adventure you play for a couple hours just get Borderlands 2 or Farpoint.

My only two gripes: holy fuck terrain manipulation is godawful, but I dont know if there are upgrades I can unlock to improve it yet, doubt it. And the blurriness. Both i have faith will be improved.

I stopped noticing the blurriness quick though from how immersive it was, and how stable it ran. But i look forward to it being crisper from a future Pro enhancement.

Attached: 1502076231200.png (535x452, 382K)

The scope of what they have set out to create is simply too enormous. They will have to cut corners somewhere, promises will have to be broken. I have big doubt on anything functional being delivered anytime soon, but if they pull it off more power to them.

Tip from an American: you’re a fucking loser and should kill yourself. If you willingly go to another country that isn’t America you deserve a slow painful death. Fuck everyone that isn’t American they’re all worthless garbage that deserves to be drawn and quartered in the streets or public executions for us to laugh at

Wake me up when it's fun

Wow

>THIS GAME IS SHIT
>"Okay, we'll fix it, sorry"
>WELL ITS FIXED A BIT BUT user DOES NOT FORGIVE DO NOT FORGET

This, holy fuck the autism in this thread
>they've added in everything people wanted originally and way more
>people still go "WOW CHARGING FULL PRICE (nevermind the fact its on sale half off, and discs are ~20 bucks always) FOR AN UNFINISHED SHIT GAME FUCK YOU"
Why do you even care? The game is more than playable by now. It's fun. It has multiplayer. It has VR. It has base building. It has technology. It has aliens and economies and missions and a story and everything. What else do you want at this point that makes it so the game isn't worth 20 bucks?
You just need to say "i guess i just want a different game" and move on and let the rest of us enjoy a great game. Maybe revisit in a couple years once it's an even bigger game.

Because nobody asked for base building and it's what we were promised they wouldn't do and instead would focus on exploration, which is still complete shit.
>technology
>aliens and economies and missions and a story
All shallow as a puddle with no fun or challenge whatsoever.

didnt read games shit fuck off cuckboi

I want it to come over to my house and fuck my GF. Why can't they just add such a simple thing?

So it's like a super mario game?

But exploration has been improved. What more do you want added to exploration?
And if you find all that stuff shallow or boring play a different game because this game clearly could never satisfy you.

Nobody likes being made inferior and irrelevant by their children. That's why bongs are so bitter and angry all the time. Even Australia has more gravitas than UK these days

yeah lets just forget about all the lies that smug fucker sean was vomiting out, oh and by the way he never even apologized for it, and the game is still dog shit even with all their attempts to fix it, so who gives a fuck?

I'm just annoyed they removed some biomes and doesn't allow for extreme and weird planet generation

hey mate why are you so angry is it because you haven't played the game and want to feel relevant to the thread?

No it hasn't, the procedural generation now is the same few hills and forests in different colors. If you've seen one square mile of a planet you've seen the whole thing. There aren't even any real mountains like we saw in the trailers.

Attached: QCzk9aBZ9yo7JIgqeSIE3V-a1OdLY0GJF4gL0SLTBow.jpg (1920x1080, 147K)

Only just barely touched it, but the VR controls are actually nice for once. Most games going VR tends to have terrible controls or makes you use keyboard/controller, which ruins quite a bit

Can you refute their point instead of being a whiny faggot?

He did apologize for the game not being launched with everything and that's when he said the dlc and all patches will be free?

>look at me i can call someone a faggot.

faggot.

Okay, point me towards the apology then.

>no mountains

cosgamer.com/blog/2016/10/28/sean-murray-sends-a-apology-letter-to-gamers-after-controversial-tweet/

The same lumpy moulds you can find on every planet aren't mountains.

Pic related is a game with better proc-gen for planets than NMS. That's 30 year old technology.

Attached: simearth.jpg (800x1016, 161K)

a mountain is literally a lump of dirt and rock.

>Assuming that they had any other option
They want to make more games if they had leave the game as it was their career was over

That’s the literally the worst “sincere” apology I’ve ever read

“Sorry but none of it is our fault and some of it is your fault.”

you asked for a apology i never said it was a good one.

You from some flyover state that you think every foothill is a mountain range?

>Many people have asked for refunds despite our promise to continually improve and update No Man’s Sky. We are just a small studio that has poured our blood, sweat, and tears into this project. The complete lack of respect when it comes to the work we have done absolutely saddens not only myself, but the team as well.
This just makes him more of a cunt, hardly an apology.

Yep. Picked this up last night and it's one of the most miserable games I've ever played.

>game directs you to hothouse planet
>game says you need 80 copper to progress
>put on scan visor and spend a minute or so hovering over tiny icons to find copper veins
>spend five minutes holding W and occasionally pressing Shift
>remember to use radial scanner on cool down and get sidetracked collecting Sodium to recharge your heat shield or you won't make it back to your shop
>finally get to copper veins
>aimlessly flail around with the terrain tool because there's no indication of what is copper and what is dirt
>collect like five copper over the course of five minutes
>repeat
It might be the most tedious thing I've ever seen.

it's like you haven't played the game cause none of that is true.

but it is open lobby you twat. if you want to see players go to the Anomaly, which isnt even that far into the story.

sorry try this one instead.

>Playing on windowed mode

>mountain peak barely four times taller than a mushroom

Attached: hvqEpXQ.jpg (1920x1080, 365K)

Pic unrelated?

How is it not true then? Because that's exactly what the game tells you to do.

>He doesn't know about the jetpack dash

Attached: 1558476139890.jpg (480x480, 30K)

copper is a golden tint if you scan it, it should put glowing squares around it to let you know where the copper ends and starts.

Why do you still need to do that? After 5 updates they haven't figured out how to make movement not dog shit?

you can change the terrain tool's size with r/t keys, also scan with c and it should highlight whats minable / whats dirt. get good senpai

>20 minutes loading screen
>tfw it loads in less than 10 seconds fo4 me in VR on High
heh

there actually are desolate planets with no flora or fauna

Why poor people complain about loading times?
If you use shitty hardware you'll have a shitty experience

Attached: images_2.jpg (566x541, 30K)

>no planets with huge weird structures
Pretty disappointing. I guess the engine cant handle it. Some guy tried to maks a city and the framerates died.

It's not about the hardware dumbass if the game is coded like shit.

Sure thing Juan.

Like I said, dumbass.

>code is shit

so do you code as well do you want to show that code senpai?

>everyone else has 1 minute loading screens except you
>its the juego puto! Viva mexico *gets beheaded*

what resources do you need to fix those?
i found a ship but didnt take it because it only had 4 more slots but i would have spent hours gathering whatever resources to fix it up so i just kept my starter ship with 15 slots for now

and like you said for you it bugged out, i didnt want to take that chance, im familiar with games being buggy after a big patch

usually some copper and magnetized ferrite and looms for the more advance fixes.

as well as a shit ton of chromatic metal and titanium.

if you don't wanna mine just buy it if you have the money.

(give gifts they give you cash)

ah good thing i skipped the ship i havent gotten looms or titanium yet

just remember the ship is there and pick it up later when you have money to buy the fixes or mine the resources needed.

>start playing again after ironman update, roll ironman naturally
>it's a constant struggle to accumate resources for radiation protection and fuel
>finally break off the planet
>space pirates attack me almost immediately
>manage to live to fight another day, mine another planet, decide to go to the space station
>space pirates AGAIN
>somehow survive to the space station, feel safe
>decide to upgrade my ship for survival I guess, powertrade between various space captains as they land and take off
>accumulate a nice little purse, buy a new ship
>terrified to leave the space station and lose all my money and my new ship
>quit playing and uninstall due to anxiety
At least my guy is safe forever.

Can we get an actual opinion on the new update and game in general?

it's pretty alright

I usually get both while killing pirates while farming titanium in space.

most honest opinion.

It's a decent exploration/base building sandbox with good music and captivating atmosphere, an intention meant to 'evoke the feeling of being on a sci-fi book cover'. It is NOT a realistic space sim, combat simulator or Star Citizen-lite game and if you go into it expecting that then you will only be disappointed.

i honestly just buy titanium and thruster juice because i can't be bothered to mine it.

it was only 19 slots compared to my 15 slot, its wasnt worth remembering.
by the time i get mats to repair the stuff ill find something better
it did have a cool name tho
ill prolly have the credits to buy a ship rather then find and repair one the way i play

Wow that sounds like a lot of fun

i stopped using the launch fuel and started using Uranium cause it was easy to find for me but another tip would get a signal booster and it will show you crash freighters and ships.

one of the first upgrade i got for my ship was a S class thruster upgrade that slowly refills itself when i'm not using it. haven't had to make thruster fuel since.

no man's mike

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 2.29M)

If you don't like base building and a decent amount of grind don't get close to it

6/10, 7/10 if you are playing in VR

I made a list of shit I needed:
2550 chrom metal- 5100 copper
2150 mag ferrite-4300 ferrite dust/pure ferrite
175 chlorine
600 plat
1640 parrafinnium
360 gold
100 pugneum
15 wiring looms

I feel like they just caved and put in all this minecraft-tier content people demanded, rather than making anything that made sense for a exploration game

Now the entire cycle is building bases, grinding items and crafting making up about 90% of your time and barely of it spent on actual exploration.

I never imagined this game to become a casual filter.

Are you playing in VR? PC or PS?

>He hasn't gotten out the first star sector

Fucking kek.
Youre still in the tutorial faggot.

neat

Attached: tech mod.webm (856x482, 2.84M)

Can you be a bountyhunter or space-pirate yet?

>scares away the dinosaur
amazing

bounty hunter: kinda
pirate: no

>But exploration has been improved
In what way? Because outside of single-fauna planets the planets are the same as they were at launch, you just sometimes encounter water biome planets which are the same tropical planets from launch but you get large stretches of water from time to time that always have the same water beads, randomized seaweed, clamshell rocks, and other objects. Desert planets always have large rocks and cacti, corrosive planets always have tentacle trees and circular stalk trees, water biomes are always palm trees + normal trees + small flora, etc. Unless you're finding single-fauna planets all the time you already know what's going to be on a planet as soon as you scan it outside of the mishmash of fauna because those are actually properly randomized now outside of flying stuff.

They made exploring even more annoying because now you have to shove materials into the Terrain Manipulator which chews through hundreds of Ferrite in seconds when this was a feature of the Mining Laser at launch that got taken away from it for no reason. The Exocrafts are also a waste of resources, nanites, and credits because you can outrun the vast majority of them with sprint + melee + jetpack which has been in the game since launch, and the game gives you upgrades that increases your jetpack time to like a minute and a half with a couple second recharge AND you don't have to get out of a machine or recharge any fuel while doing this.

Even space exploration is unchanged, you just sometimes see a freighter floating around if you haven't called yours in yet. It's admirable Shaun and his team have been trying their best to win back player confidence and improve the game, but at its core it's flawed and that's something they're not bothering to fix. The game's great if you want to take screenshots but that's as far as it goes.

Attached: No Man's Sky_20190117213000.jpg (1920x1080, 862K)

Guess I'll have to wait another 3 years then.

>Bases need power now
For what purpose?

Also why won't the goddamn space anomaly show up?

oh no you have the bug

rip in peace.

Outer wilds is really really good user. You play as a space explorer stuck in a time loop trying to solve the mystery of how an ancient race died out. It's got the best sense of exploration I've ever experienced in a game and is perfectly designed

dude they literally added no fauna due to the new cooking mechanic what the fuck are you talking about?

I actually enjoy the game, but I'd just like to play it a decent framerate. This game is optimized so shitty it's mindblowing to be honest family.

new*

...

Does every planet become toxic or irradiated shithole in survival mode or it is just my luck?

I've got a GTX1080+i7 and the game is installed on my SSD. Sup dev.

well it's not buggy for me in max settings in VR so im sorry you can't get your hardware working mate.

Then that's a Beyond thing because everything I said stands for NEXT backwards and I assume most of it still stands for Beyond anyway.

Every planet on Survival and Survival Hardcore is either Hostile Sentinels or a storm planet except for the one-fauna ones. Doesn't matter where you go, you're either getting hostile Sentinels or some form of environmental drain to your shields which is why you have to get elemental shields ASAP. Also, if you're starting out make sure you follow a guide for proper inventory layout for your upgrades otherwise you're going to have less bonuses from them than you would, never spread upgrades apart, always connect them.

>played game at high settings 60 fps before the Beyond update
>game now runs at 20 fps on all low
how did they fuck up THIS bad?

Attached: 1544343778346.png (771x723, 680K)

To anyone who regularly plays this game how the fuck do you deal with inventory management?

it’s fine on my machine :^)

Don't listen to that retard. You can shoot freighters and other ships for materials. If you go to the quest guy in the station, you can bounty quests.

Of course the tripfag is a complete retard.

>God, why is this game such a piece of shit
Because retards keep buying shit games.
>I bought this
Q.E.D.

VR on PC with Rift. It's the best VR experience I've had so far. I use normal movement with Rift controllers (no teleporting or snapping bullshit) and no motion sickness at all.
I just wish my Rift had better resolution or less screen-dooring effect.

did you play it user?

In the new update the stacks are insane, before they where like 250 per stack, now it's like 10k kek

No. I don't play shit games.

How's the performance? I'm waiting until they fix some of the issues.

^this, but it gets repetitive very fast

then fuck off from the thread?

I have zero issues with my midrange rig on High settings, though it's different for everyone.

Cool. Do you play standing or seated?

No variation to the gorillion or whatever planets there are so don't expect to see stuff like waterfalls, canyons or mountains, it's mostly just dull forests and hills in different colors. Each planet has only one biome so if you've explored it for 10 minutes you've seen the whole thing. There's no visible weather effects like lightning or blizzards. There's no enemies that pose a threat. The creatures are all awkward mash ups that do nothing but wander aimlessly. The game forces you to build a base which defeats the purpose of exploration. There are no NPC towns. The worst part of the game is the gameplay loop. Everything requires power to keep running so you can continue exploring but finding fuel is a chore and there's no fun to it. It's just wander for 1 hour to find X resource for fuel without any challenge whatsoever. And then you go to the next planet to repeat the cycle. In space all there is to do is blow up frigates and steal their resources or go to space stations to trade, but there's nothing else interesting to see or do in either.

Seated. Fuck playing standing, I've had enough of beatsaber. Also standing in your ship would seem weird and sitting down/standing up when you enter/leave your ship would be stupid.

Same, my favorite youtuber said it's shit so I'm not gonna play it

this dude has NO idea what he is talking about and talking before the next update and before the beyond update they added all off this way before the beyond update and this user is just a retarded cuck.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try this weekend.

Literally any space game has more depth and content to offer than NMS, the game is fun for about 6 hours and then you've seen everything. It's somehow more monotonous than elite dangerous but at least that game requires you to actually control the ship properly and dock etc.

Attached: 1562783706675.png (411x376, 27K)

>no enemies
>robot dogs

retard alert.

GTX 970 - i5 4690k - SSD

So, you guys really eat shit? How was the taste?

did you even play the game or are you letting your lol im so funny youtuber tell you how to feel?

Again, what's with all this "le youtuber" non-sequitur? Are you retarded?

Is the update actually good besides the VR shit?
I tried it for an hour or two but I had to start a new game so I didn't even see anything different.

asteroids only spawn like three different resources and no i don't mine them because im trader and like to trade goods instead of mining.

Furries looks like THAT?

Attached: 1560850157089.png (600x600, 325K)

The combat strategy for all of them is 'point and shoot'. Even that is done better by literally every other FPS game.

Anyone know how to change your skin in the free version of Minecraft?

that's like getting mad at cod for just pushing wasd and clicking a mouse.

It's been 3 years....

Copper is literally shining copper compared to the dirt. I swear to God, this game has some much criticism that is deserved, yet there a re so many fucking idiots like you muddying the water just for the epic (you)s. Literally any game can can be described as "pressing the w key and occasionally pressing m1". Check it out, Minecraft: press wasd and m1
Mario: hold left stick right occasionally press a
Any fps fucking ever: point and click
You're fucking cancer.

Like I said, it's hot garbage compared to any other FPS game.

But the game has no economy so why trade? It doesn't have any effect, you'd have a better time playing X3/X4 or something.

that really doesnt sound like the games core is flawed
more like its still missing content, which theyre working on apparently

it does have a economy and missions to sell goods to aliens.

like i said, did you play it.

It's been 3 years and you're still consuming Sean Murray's shit.

who let the retard in the thread?

You must be retarded, because it's absolutely not what the game tells you to do.

The biggest change on beyond is the station where you talk with nada and polo, you can buy tech for everything using nanites, it's not random, everything is available, do coop missions with randoms, and way bigger stacks for resources

Why do you assume that has criticism didn't play it? Because I have and it was the worst 'game' experience of my life.

And still 4x the content of scam citizen with 1% of the budget

It's almost like the only similarity it has with other FPS is that you can shoot stuff while in first person. You may as well be comparing it to a fucking rhythm game. First person shooting is not the focus, so no it's not going to be comparable to cod in that aspect.

It's better than it was and not so convoluted anymore, and they streamlined the tutorial so it's a lot less trying to figure out what the fuck is going on and what to do.

Wow what an absolute faggot.

>Boohooo Sony forced us to release early and w a delivered a garbage game and lied endlessy about it.
>no one respects us for half assedly barely delivering on the original promises
Sean can FUCK OFF.

>PSVR
There is your problem, games working amazingly on pc

>now have big boy ship with bonus techs and I haven’t even left the starter system
you actually have a gimped ship because you didn't leave the starter system. Spawned ships won't have legit upgrades/hyperdrives unless you progress enough in the tutorial to get to the point you make a hyperdrive.

I mean it's got lots of slots for shit though, even if it's basically equivalent to the starting ship.

Not really. Star Citizen has more content than NMS.

Download a resource pack, search for Steve and Alex png, delete everything else but the folder structure for those two and replace the png for the skin you want

Yes it is, combat is the only thing that provides risk to exploration. Without combat it's literally just a walking simulator.

It does? What's the economy even used for then, do AI traders use materials to construct things or is it all static until the player interacts with it?.

pirates?

it's just like the normal missions but if you start getting your rank up with that species they will give you cheaper goods later on and give you more for finishing missions.

You're not in your cult worshipping subreddit anymore sweaty

Is there any creature in this game that can fuck your shit up yet?
Are there giant sandworms or huge deep sea creatures?
The most dangerous thing I encountered at release were insect tier hostile creatures that were easily outplayed by jumping on my ship and shooting them from there.

And how do they excuse the on foot gameplay?

...

ANY game can be "you just push down button and push another."

please hang yourself.

>combat is the only thing that provides risk to exploration
>environmental protection falling
confirmed never played the game

Go play cod if you feel the need to shoot something every 2 seconds

The game's core is flawed though. You're essentially just hoarding stuff to refresh your shields or power something, lifting off, landing on another planet, and then getting more stuff to refresh your shields or power something except maybe you got some upgrades to do it a bit faster. Traveling to a new planet doesn't give you a sense of wonder or feeling like you're seeing something new, it's basically just the same thing with a few minor tweaks here and there. Now, since Beyond added some new flora that means it'll be a bit more variable just like when they added water biomes and tweaked fauna, but at the end of the day once you've seen each planet type once you'll start seeing the same exact planet structure each time you visit a new planet of the same type. At most they'll have more hills or less hills, maybe more water or less water.

The missions at various space stations are also just stuff like "Kill X amount of hostile creatures", "Kill X space pirates", "Deliver item to a base on a planet", "Bring X amount of an object" and they're there mostly for the nanites they give to upgrade yourself. Even your base missions are "Bring me X amount of resources or go craft me a resource then bring it to me."

If you like grinding for material to grind more that's all well and good, but the planets themselves lose any luster as soon as you've seen your second one because everything has to fit into a role and provide a majority of the base materials so you can't fail meaning a lot of what you're going to see is the same stuff you've seen on another planet.

>that were easily outplayed by jumping on my ship and shooting them from there.

Attached: file.png (219x230, 57K)

I actually had reached that point. The moment I finished the ship I installed the hyperdrive and left the system.
The fact I can take off 8/9 times on one launch thruster charge is bonus enough.

>brainlet shit

>>environmental protection falling
Wow the environmental hazards that you can't even see and simply make your HP go down! Truly revolutionary gameplay.

it's like you didn't play much of the game honestly because one of the funnest things to do is learning the language of the aliens and getting excited that you can start learning what they are saying or trying to practice the language with them and them getting offended cause you said something stupid.

"HOLY SHIT YOU SAID I AND YOU i understand!"

do you see heat because i don't and gas leaks nah mate i don't see that.

im done with you

Attached: 1558849410173.png (427x413, 285K)

No it can't, it feels like garbage in No Man's Sky because there's no satisfying response your to input in game.
Kill yourself for actually grovelling this shit.

BUT IS IT WORTH IT NOW?

kill yourself faggot no one loved you anyways i bet you dad touched you.

Do you see blizzards, thunderstorms, sandstorms? Are you on the spectrum per chance?

funny, I would've responded next with that too

Attached: 1562456858046.png (455x467, 624K)

actually yes you do see blizzard storms and sandstorms in the game it's called a "STORM" wow so advance.

BREAKING NEWS, you need oxygen to survive on strange planets and in space!
Many games have hunger and thirst mechanics. This is no different. If that's too much for you to handle then again, try cod

Bro, you have no idea what your talking about. Everything he said was spot on. I love the game, I reset for beyond to experience the "streamlined" tutorial. These are the most prominent issues with the game that I also experienced. Every planet is either a rocky/hilly/mountainy. Those planets with unique structures just repeat those structures around the whole planet. There are no rivers, no jungles, no deserts, no plains, not even landmarks. I think towns/settlements (actual settlements, not just one off buildings) would really help with exploration. Making planets worth exploring and coming back to.

>Epic Chinksect Exclusive
Into the trash.

No but they did ignore the 9 billion posts and comments that say "If you don't want a pointless proc gen explorer don't buy it ever".

Imagine being this triggered over criticism. The No Man's Sky fanbase is a cult worse than Star Citizen's.

Fuck off Redditor. CoD is a million times more demanding than No Man's Sky. The biggest challenge in No Man's Sky is trying to stop your brain from rotting while you wander barren planets for resources so you can wander another barren planet.

did you just defend CoD?

>it's like you didn't play much of the game
I have 46 hours into launch and 77 hours into NEXT, you much be joking.
>one of the funnest things to do is learning the language of the aliens
You're definitely taking the piss, my NEXT run could barely understand more than one or two words in a single sentence and I had learned roughly 150 words in EACH LANGUAGE while my launch run couldn't understand anything at all despite roughly the same amount of words in each language.

Except in NMS you need Ferrite, Oxygen, Iron, Carbon, the four special types for the various shields if you don't want to get that one yellow resource that costs 70ish to fill one shield, the one material for your launch thrusters unless you buy a bunch of the one-time usage Launch Fuel things which is helpful, the stuff needed to recharge your hyper speed from asteroids, items needed for Warp Cells so you can actually warp unless you want to pay 50,000 credits each time you want to warp, and you need freighter launch fuel if you want to use that thing at all to send ships out. This isn't even talking about all the various crap you need for your base and the higher tier stuff which you're going to be making like Magnetized Ferrite just so you don't have to be using up hundreds of a resource to recharge.

Attached: No Man's Sky_20190816093740.png (1920x1080, 2M)

Just fuck already.

Good thing I don't play it for the core mechanic. I just enjoy finding a nice green grassed planet that slightly resembles Earth and set my base up there. Then find every fauna in the start system, learn languages, upgrade my shit, and so on. I haven't even really gotten far in the story besides a few jumps even though I have put 120 hours into it.

alright now im interested.

THIS
Nobody cares what you play. Why do you care what we play?
Also my point is that cod and nms are entirely different games. You want something challenging then okay, play cod, but you want something chill then play nms. Or don't. Just fuck off if you dont like it

How? I have S rank equips, all inventory slots, all cargo slots, an S rank ship with max inventory space, a 24 slot Multitool with all S rank mods, and a base that I'm okay with that I don't want to invest any more time into. The only thing I don't have is an S rank freighter because the max slot ones cost 140 million credits and I never use it outside of mobile storage I can warp into a sector, and upgraded Exocrafts because they're a complete waste of resources and time. Alongside this I have hundreds of words learned, dozens of screenshots taken, finished the Atlas story, hopped to the second galaxy, and that's only taken me 77 hours. How in the world has it taken you 120 hours to get past a couple warps?

I did, they're a waste of inventory space just like launch thruster fuel because you have to keep the resources on hand anyway. If you want to save time go ahead, but if you're lugging them around it's a pain in the ass because you could (At least from when I played) only stack 5 per lot when a cargo/ship slot could carry 500 of a material which is six or seven resupplies.

Faggots why anime not grammar use can?

At no point did I say I play this garbage.

you can teleport them to the freighter and now the max cap for them is like 500 on the freighter and like 250 on hand.

No Man's Sky is not Subnautica in space for a very important reason
The selling point of Subnautica is that early on there are gigantic sea creatures that will spook the shit out of you and nearly instantly kill you if given the chance
Nothing similar exists in No Man's Sky. They could have added cosmic terrors that chase you in space but for whatever reason developers never choose to do that.

Attached: 1535461403784.jpg (453x435, 42K)

Codeword for garbage walking simulator. Whatever type of game No Man's Sky is it shouldn't exist, period.

>hasn’t even played it
At least pirate the fucking thing before you start relentlessly shitting on it, retard.

those batteries are way more energy-efficient than ANY raw material
also ships and freighters can carry 500 per slot, while you can carry 250 batteries

im really sorry you are this dense to let people enjoy a game that you don't like or even played.

AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY FIRST PERSON OR THIRD PEROSN
THIS IS IMPORTANT ASNWSER AHFSAT

i honestly play third person but now i play VR so that's not really a thing.

>How in the world has it taken you 120 hours to get past a couple warps?
I have autism. Once I spent 8 hours looking for the last species of a fauna.
Also fucking around with mods, restarting for better planets, restarting because of big updates, getting sidetracked doing stupid shit, and so on.

It's 25 bucks on PSN

Third person, it feels way better for both aiming and situational awareness plus it's easier to tell where and how you're going to land on something.

I think what people aren't realizing about these types of games promising so much freedom and shit to do is that eventually it gets to a point where do people honestly want this if they truly sat down to think about it? Do you really want this much freedom for a game? What if thousands of games that promise this come out? It wouldn't be unique then. Freedom in gaming is overrated. Games are supposed to have rules and structures, meaning they also need a degree of difficulty. Open world, space or universe games will always be a victim to this because they offer way too much freedom and that isn't what good games should be about.

Oh, I understand. Because the game doesn't give you +200 points per kill or a gazillion badges for a kill, it isn't satisfying? What is your criticism actually?

What's your point, user? Those are some nice pictures, but you know you aren't going back after the first time. You know you can find the same things or views on the same planet and others. It also doesn't make up for the criticisms the other user and I gave.

Lmao keep screeching, you know it isn't a fair criticism. You're being an outright hypocrite. You're comparing an arcade pvp shooter to an open world exploration game (that happens to have an fp point of view and guns)

>Download patch
>Keep getting BSOD when I launch it
I forgot how scary this is

Attached: 1476005630248.gif (275x275, 1.79M)

You're in a thread for discussing how bad the game is, brainlet. If you can't handle free expression then feel free to return to Reddit.

who said this a discussion about how bad the game is?

and you wouldn't know cause you didn't play it.

If you keep this up all the solar panels in the game are going to have an identity crisis

>buying no man's sky
You VRfags are always so gullible.

So now you're arguing that No Man's Sky is supposed to be a walking simulator with 0 difficulty? I even said FPS combat isn't the only way to make it difficult, they could've added weather phenomenon like lightning or blizzards and dangerous terrain, yet even that is garbage.

they have all of that added though?

it's fun senpai

this person has a different opinion then me boohoo go back to blank site.

wow what a complaining argument!

I have it since launch and now i get to enjoy VR.

I play in third person. It's more immersive because I can see my dude walking around. First person is a bit less clunky though.

Nope, at best you get a text notification saying 'Storm incoming' and the only thing to reflect that on screen is your HP going down slowly. Stop defending this lazy garbage already holy shit.

Too bad they don't even tell you about the terrain digging tool until you need to mine copper or whatever.

they show the storm hitting and effecting the screen what do you even mean!

got me there.

stop trying to win a argument about a game you haven't even played.

Oh yeah the display goes kinda green if there's too much radiation
Stunning gameplay right there

Or to look for shelter. IMO this is the only way.

anytime someone proves that you are wrong you say "BUT BUT IT'S not blank."

Just pirate if you care that much. It's also on Xbox too if that floats your boat. The game is legitimately phenomenal and I want more people to play it so we can talk about it.

the green shit is toxicity, moron
at least play it before complaining

>got the game for pc a few weeks back
>start the tutorial and take a break after an hour
>lose half an hour of progress because entering the ship is the only save point
>get to a new planet, game wants me to find copper
>there ain't no fucking copper around
>but plenty of drones up my shit whenever i mine anything
>uninstall

Attached: 1529242947.jpg (622x412, 90K)

you see storms actually hit though. (heavy winds, lightning and other effects) depending on the type of storm.

No shit, no aspect of the game is good.

drones are rare now

can someone ban this faggot?

I refuse to believe people this stupid exist

aren't you bored of doing pic related?

reported for underage.

Holy shit just go back to Plebbit already.
The mods can't save you from your feelings being hurt here.

What goalpost moving? I said the game's shit and so far have not seen any evidence to the contrary.

Why is it OK to ask for 60 dollars for a linear cinematic shooter that lasts 20 hours, but you can only ask for 15 for a game with unlimited procedurally generated content that most people can get at least 20 to 40 hours out of and some autists will get hundreds of hours?

Why do games with dumbed down mechanics for mass appeal get to charge out the wazzoo and games with more niche appeal have to ask for pennies? It's literally the exact opposite of how every other hobby industry operates

is the only thing you say is go back to rebbit cause you sure are advertising the site alot mate.

I'm like 30 years old lol. Duel me at quake, zoomer faggot.

probably because you didn't even play the game retard.

Then why can't you win a single argument for that case nigga?

I dunno maybe take the hint and go back.

>They added everything people wanted
Speak for yourself nigger faggot. I wanted to find unique cool things on planets and theres none of that. Nothing is unique and interesting in this game. I dont give a fuck about bases or cars. Randomly generated levels are ALWAYS bland. This game is simply not fun.

I don't think NMS should go for 60 considering how buggy it is, but still, this.

you are biggest faggot i know and probably suck and arena shooters.

WOW look guys he said it again!

Your attitude is cancer do you realize this? Its something you dont like, so it shouldn't exist?

Somebody call the waaahmbulance.

>2550 chromatic metal
I hope the refinery loops are still in the game, christ

No Man's Sky has the most dumbest down mechanics of any game I've seen. The procedural generation means shit if it's all garbage.

they added archaeology and treasure hunting basically but you know, that's just nothing.

>tfw did the whole thing by mining and buying chrom met whenever I could
Was there a better way to do this?

You defending a poorly made game is cancer that'll only encourage people to lower their standards for games.

dude you didn't even play the game you don't know the mechanics of the game.

hunting pirates will give you chrom pretty quickly if you decide that you don't wanna mine it anymore.

>One update and two patches later my ship is still bugged
Well, time to uninstall again

you are fighting about a game that you haven't even played and you are talking about people with low standards. shiggy.

I will end you zoom zoom. Post your steam and you'll get a Quake Live duel invite sooner than you think.

user you are straight up lying to make your case. Nobody is defending the game so much as calling out your obvious inaccuracies. Your irrelevant ass isn't protecting any grand order of standard by arguing on Yea Forums regardless, but even less so if you're lying to make your case.

he's also heavily advertising rebbit because lol we anonymous go back to rebbit >:CCCCCCCCCCCCC

Inhabited star systems have economies that typically lean toward certain domains like fuel or electronics production, etc. If you get an economy scanner you can see the economies of nearby star systems without traveling to them. You’ll make more money selling microprocessors in an economy that lauds those over, say, one that leans toward organic materials. It’s basically just price modifiers on the trade network, but it might also have an effect on how often items of a given class appear in the inventories of NPCs. Not sure.

Just bought the game and have enjoyed 4 hours I to it so far. I died the first 10 minutes because of radiation and not knowing where the fuck to go. The game is solid so far. And I think it can only get better. Looking forward to a nice green planet somewhere with water to make home at some point. I hope the base building gets better and better.

Subnautica has vr support

i really wish they didn't cancel the VR support for it because it feels half done.

Why are you on an anonymous imageboard if you can't handle discussion then? Nothing I said is a lie, the FPS combat is objectively shit compared to any other FPS game and the weather system is objectively shit because it requires no strategy beyond 'go hide in a cave and wait' or 'make a shield'. It's lazily made, mindnumbing garbage that's no fun whatsoever.

Not even close.
As it stands right now their VR implementation is actually quite low quality.

wait did you just say it's shit because you need to make shelter to get out of a storm.

holy shit you are brain dead.

This might seem like an odd comparison but I enjoy Kenshi, I like to relax and just explore and build things, would this fulfill my needs? Tye combat doesnt need to be arena FPS tier it just needs to be better than Minecraft.

Wouldnt give the game the time of day since I played it years ago and refunded it, but its on offer and seems to have more content.

probably the best vr experience i had but that's just my opinion.

you didn't even play the game and you are the one not having a discussion or a debate you are just saying it's shit.

I can't imagine how retarded you must be to consider that fun.

you have to literally make shelter in real life to survive a storm.

it has nothing to do with Kenshi's ultradark fantasy world or gameplay but I'd give it a try

>my favorite youtuber said it's wrong to like this game and that makes everyone that's not me and my boyfriend not a onions.

personally I find the VR to be comfy to just sit and relax in my chair and get comfy
Though the biggest problem with VR is spaceship controls, trying to actually Fight shit in your spaceship is impossible due to how finicky trying to turn is

actually if you lose where the trading post is you can ask someone for help and they will usually mark the location for you or you can buy a planetary map from the map guy.

I'd really like to explore, but 90% of the time I have to grind for resources so I can continue grinding. This is like putting 10 different hunger mechanics into a game and have food restore only 1% of one of those 10.

double grip the flight stick you will have your hand stuck on there it makes it alot easier to fight.

Um sweetie if you don't like it, don't play it!

if you upgrade your gear it gets alot easier (mining can become x10+ amount more)

You compared it to CoD, not "Any other FPS game", or "any other first person" game which would be more accurate a comparison. And you lied about no weather effects, explicitly stating the only visual cue was your health going down and text. I can handle discussion just fine, the question is why are you shooting garbage out your ass when you can't handle people calling you out on it?

Meanwhile, I'm just like..

Attached: 20190812205810_1.jpg (1680x1050, 225K)

god damn it i wish i built my base next to a ring planet.

just use mods then
I always use the one that reduces launch cost to 5% instead of 25% (50% on HC), I'm pretty sure there are mods for hazards and shit too

Haven't found the map guy, but you'd think it would be pretty easy for the suit or ship to have a topographical map. Keeping track of all the locations you've discovered.

And i guess i have to first learn that alien language to ask anyone for directions?

cool Monolithic ship bud

Dont approach the game as something you focus on, listen to a podcast or something and take it easy, theres no real end game so theres no rush.

I really think the games PR raising it up as some kind of industry changer when it is just a space exploration game with extremely light combat and quests to do. There are a fair amount of games out there like this but this is pretty much the only one Ive seen be sold and received as though it was going to be a monumental experience. It shouldve just remained some obscure little indie game.

you can upgrade the launchers to refill on it's own and other shit.
he's in every space station but he will give you one for a random planet just keep asking for help.

pew pew pew, you have obtained 75 units of ferrite.

I found one of those but the warning about emptying my old ship out scared me off since my inventory was full. What happens to your old ship if you claim a new one?

>played tryhard mode to stroke his epeen
>gets shit on
>bitches about it
What exactly were you expecting?

Holy shit shut the fuck up you insufferable fan boy, I clearly stated ANY other FPS game is better than No Man's Sky here
Whatever visual cues there are to weather are so insignificant they're not even worth mentioning. Even then, there's still 0 challenge to it.

holding a single Controller with two hands wont fix that shit, the biggest problem is that you have no feedback/anything at all to help tell you what how you move the thing will actually affect it, you don't know if moving tilting your hand right will actually move the thing right or not since there is no indication of if you are moving it right in the way the game wants you to meaning you often try to turn a little and instead go spinning out of control, or try to do a hard turn and instead turn a little
like all they needed to do to fix it was to give the VR spaceship a little aim assist in where the shots go if you fire them with the enemy somewhere in the front of the cockpit view

you don't need to learn the language to ask for help they just pin the area for you but you can also get a suit upgrade to auto learn a few words in a sentence but you won't keep the words forever and it won't be the same words being translated.

Bros which research should I be prioritizing? I'm eyeing self-charging launch thrusters but beyond that I'm a little overwhelmed.

Yes. The average gaymer faggot is a worthless corporate slave with no perception of integrity or ethics. They share a lot of the same qualities of drug addicts.

no you idiot double click the flight stick the same way you would grab it, it toggles instead of having to hold on to it.

i did cooking but don't do that i wanted to ride animals.

He saved his game deal with it

if you trade it for another one it will fly away
if you are taking a ship wreck then it will stay there

if you have a freighter you can have up to 5+ ships and switch them around.

Do I really have to build the exocraft summoning beacon on every planet?

In theory you can switch back and forth between and move your inventories until you’ve moved everything you need into the new ship. If you have a freighter you can just claim it, hip back in your other ship and next time you go to the freighter it’ll be there.
Mine bugged out though so I was stuck with this one and went “I’ve got it now, might as well fix the whole thing up”.

The abyss update left me wanting more, there were like 2 undersea creatures, shallow underwater exploration, few items and techs to obtain.

that still doesn't change my argument about the controls of the stick at all
since my problem is not trying to grab the stick, its trying to actually move/control it in a way that doesn't feel like you are playing pin the tail on the donkey

Do you still get a free freighter after a bit?
Seems to be taking a while this time.

It always seemed kinda dumb to me, made the freighter not feel all that special if you get handed one.

the beyond update added more to undersea life but i don't know much about that.

you know to use the touch-pad to spin the ship?

the marketing team did, and they're here right now

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SEAN MURRAY THANK YOU FOR STEALING MY MONEY TO EXCRETE A POLISHED TURD INTO MY MOUTH 5 YEARS LATER

Attached: IMG_20190816_170409.jpg (310x456, 39K)

the free freighter has few slots and it's always C-tier

I don't think it's about the freedom. I think it's about how worth while the game is. This game, Minecraft, the forest, 7days to die, they all reach the point where you have to ask yourself if it's worth continuing to play. You can have the freedom, but the freedom itself can't be the main draw.

First of all, I'm not the same user that you were speaking with. Second of all, this game is primarily an exploration game. There are threats in pve but they are mostly in ship (ie space pirates). I agree, there should be more of a reason to use the gun part of your multitool. There are weather phenomena. Planets have different threats, wether is radiation storms, scortching heat, toxic planets, and yes storms/blizzards as well. Way to show you haven't played the game. Terrain is dangerous. It's not particularly deep, any dangerous terrain can be summarized as a long fall from a tall place. You entered this thread to argue, not discuss. Every time someone proves you wrong, you just shift the goal post.

Good luck user. A planet like that is very rare.

>Shiggy
What year is it

It can be a pain. Most of the resources you need are abundant. You can find boxes and shit all over the place that give you condensed carbon, sodium, as well as rusted metal that you can refine to ferite dust. Also the blue/red/yellow crystals you find on planets give you hydro-whatever for launch fuel, condensed carbon, and sodium nitrite or whatever it's called (the refined version of sodium)

I agree about the YouTuber thing. People are calling it "the greatest gaming comeback" which is silly. That being said, people on here are equally as silly by refusing to give some credit to hello games for sticking with the game long after they got their pay out.

You can literally go into a cave for shelter.

Best exocraft?

It's 2011

But its still a mobile base.
The annoying part was having to take everything down and pick everything up to move Freighters.

the antigrav one, duh
shit's EXTREMELY FAST

>Planets have different threats, wether is radiation storms, scortching heat, toxic planets, and yes storms/blizzards as well.
And they all pretty much have the exact same effect

>old saves still work
YAY
it still sucks hard due to those few slots
hell I have a non-shit B-tier(since Atlas) with its inventory always goddamn full

Holy shit, imagine sucking ass at an open world exploration game built for casuals.

Neck yourself.

Jesus fuck I explained it in different ways in every single one my fucking posts you colossal dumbass of a fuckstain
The problem is that VR Space Combat is unplayable due to it being impossible to control the turning in a way that lets you actually aim at hostile shit to shoot them.
in non-VR you can easily kill most hostile ships in like a minute max, but in VR its next to impossible to control the stick in a way to actually get your guns aimed at them

Ironman mode in NMS is fucking bullshit. Every single time it spawns you in a world where your life support drains in 2 minutes, and your ship can spawn anywhere between a 10 and 30 minute walk away, so you just have to walk towards it and pray that you find enough thaumium(?) to recharge your life support along the way. Then, when you finally get to your ship, the mineral deposit it tells you to go to is another 20 minute walk away, so you're basically stuck on the first world for at least 2 hours. Then, the instant you leave, you get ganked by some pirates and have to repeat the process all over again.

>boo fucking hoo I can't enjoy an improved game because they hurt muh feelings :(

>thaumium(?)
They changed it to oxygen, also it's a lot more forgiving now. There's basically barely any difference between normal and hc.

There are sandworms.

Yeah. That doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Actually they outright lied and made outrageous claims pre launch. Sure, they've worked hard to recoup some of their reputation. Just because you forgive doesn't mean you should forget.

>>improved

no because then Yea Forums would be loving skyrim

>Yeah.
Glad you agree it's shit.

Looks like they did something.

My laptop with 1050Ti is now getting 40-60 fps with everything on high and textures on ultra.

Even super crowded trade station on a forest planet with shitloads of grass isn't going below 30 fps.

I wish they just let you play with KB+M like normal during VR.
I don't really care for the waggle gimmicks they came up with.

>don't want to play with permadeath
>don't want to play in uber casual mode
>pick survival
>literally every planet turns you into a sodium huffing junkie with barely enough oxygen to live
>barely enough time to gather materials to recharge launch thrusters after collecting mats to not die
How do I break out of the early game, bros?

has anyone tried to find earth? or the sol system in general? honestly with as many cool easter eggs a game like this could have that would probably be the coolest

Attached: 1559953974189.jpg (960x626, 216K)

use shelters to recharge your hazard suit
oxygen is not hard to find, there are also plants you can shoot to gather oxygen

They were too busy coding for milking.

but damn was it worth it

the game still runs fucking awful for me please help

Attached: 1556188797590.png (391x391, 162K)

There’s no Earth. In lore, the galaxy is just a simulation by a computer.

Caves spawn oxygen plants constantly, and every once in a while you just find clumps of resource flowers. Once you get the Advanced Mining Laser virtually everything Carbon-based gives you oxygen as well. Abuse any friendly buildings or your own ship to recharge both oxygen and shields, once you make it off the first solar system you're basically golden, it's just getting to that point is a bit rough.

There's also a chance for you to find random clusters of resource plants. I found oxygen and sodium ones every two or three planets I visited.

Attached: No Man's Sky_20190116112931.jpg (1920x1080, 1.46M)

60 is really too much for it senpai. As it’s too much for trash shooters too.

just as well. if there was an earth it would probably be destroyed, just to preach some LOL HUMANITY IS EVIL soap box shit like pic related

"It" the game? Or the weather effects? I've said before the game has plenty of worthy criticisms. I simply corrected the misinformation that user was spouting.

After they fix the bugs and performance issues it will be a legit good game.

What it needs now is more variety for planets and alien settlements beyond trade posts.

>more variety for planets
Hope you're ready to wait a sixth year

There was a second patch yesterday.

>more variety for planets
That's what almost everyone wanted since day one.
I don't understand how a game hyped up about its proc gen has such a shitty proc gen. It looks like something a freshman college student would write. I could make a better proc gen in 2 hours, give me a day and I would include actual biomes.
>add semi-rng terrain generation with min and max values
>add water if terrain level reaches a lower threshold
>"guys look at our amazing proc gen! we literally solved p=np! amazing!"

Get your stinky ass to visit me.

Attached: 20181008191548_1.jpg (1920x1080, 272K)

you are retarded and wrong in multiple ways and probably haven't even played the game and decided to bitch about the game cause you saw a few videos of people hating on it.

its oxygen and sodium and yeah they were rare as fuck and I got strafed by pirates the minute I took off.

And the fucking senitels won't leave me alone now. At least i can stay in base so they fuck off but having to walk 20 minutes to find fucking buried tech or resources is pain in the ass. Nearest buried tech was like 1000 units away.

the games entierly based on RNG you can get on a completely peaceful planet or one that FUCKS YOU and drains your life support to 0 in a LITERAL minute and you dont have enough na or o2 to keep you alive.

It's poor fucking game design
Just cause y'all shitters use baby mode doesn't mean the games easy on ironman

multiple new bio's have been added and underwater bio's that added so much to the underwater life.

actually the planets feeling samey is that almost every planet has life, should've been more rare so one in 100 has life or something.

I have 130 hours in NMS, try again

i been to multiple planets in NMS and i don't see the same thing every time and that's pretty cool but im not saying that you might get the same type of planets the few times.

Attached: 20181005163702_1.jpg (1920x1080, 352K)

it's not a real universe and as such it doesn't have the same rules for life

What is 'Vectorised" gender?? there isn't even an autocorrect word associated. What will I find between its legs?

Attached: 20180203005720_1.jpg (1920x1080, 420K)

What works for me is aligning the controller with the angle of the stick and then click to lock it to the stick
Haven't had issues with flight aside from not being able to lock the thruster hand

Attached: 20180202022605_1.jpg (1920x1080, 318K)

because none of the procedural systems interact in meaningful ways that lead to emergent gameplay scenarios. it's the ultimate
>dude let's smoke some WEED and go to SPACE bro!!!!
game but there's just not a ton there unless you're a child and your parents only bought you this and forbade you from playing Minecraft.

game is wide as a galaxy and shallow as a fucking puddle

deep

Attached: 20181005160759_1.jpg (1920x1080, 510K)

It's shit

hang yourself.

What if I ask you to dilate instead?

What's that, Sean Murrary's ballsack?

Jesus user, get the cloud mod on the Nexus so they don't look like such shit. It's compatable with beyond.

Man I take back everything bad I've said. This game is fucking great.
>random dark planet
>pic related everywhere, wobbling like hell
>similar balls on the ground
>some of them are animals, but visually no difference between rocks and animals
>creepy ambient music in the background
Wish I knew how to record in VR and make it a webm.

>Why is it OK to ask for 60 dollars for a linear cinematic shooter that lasts 20 hours
It isn't, retard. Fuck off, Sean.

Linear cinematic shooters are fun though.

Another patch out. Performance is much better now.

19e for a CD key

Actually, earth did exist in previous iterations of the simulation. You can encounter human-made logs at crashed freighters.
Sentinels/ATLAS wiped them out.

new bread when

No screens, but here is the mod nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1083

I also got it for like 10 eurobucks on ps4, loved the flying in the ship part of the game and the jump to warp speed, but got stuck on some toxic planet during a mission with no fuel, can't leave, health is going down, can't fly away, can't see shit from the fog so I just gave up on the game

I'm pretty sure there's hydrogen and carbon on every planet

Fucking base building tut lever
>get to space station
>leave ship there cause FUCKING PIRATES EVERYWHERE
>TP home, talk to base computer WHILE SCANNERS FLY OUT THE ASS
>find out I have to walk 20 mins
>LITERALLY AS SOON AS ONE SCANNER DISSAPEARS ANOTHER COMES UP FROM THE GROUND AHEAD OF ME SCANS ME AND STARTS SHOOTING
>Have to recharge life support once every 2 minutes

Fuck this games difficulty its beyond fucking retarded

Works for me. Maybe you should try being less of a bitch.

Attached: LIKE_THE_GOOD_OL_DAYS_AFTER_911.jpg (898x1200, 101K)

You can summon your ship from anywhere. Just make when you take off there are no sentinels after you. They'll chase you into space and prevent you from using your pulse engine.

Yeah well you've probably damaged your brain from playing this 'game' to consider it acceptable

Also, this wont help if you're already stranded, but theres an idle recharge upgrade that fills the launch thrusters automatically over time now

>its very fun to have constantly 1 hostile senitle around meaning you have to keep sprinting
>its very fun to have life support drain to 0 once a minute during tutorial level

maybe you should get some standards little shitter.
is the ship supposed to control like absolute ass?

You're a retard kill yourself my man

The craziest thing to me is that they made some changes here and there but its largely still the same game with the same core gameplay loop yet there was this weird sweeping bandwagon of people saying OMG ITS FIXED BASED SEAN MURRAY

its the same fucking game you weirdos

basebuilding and trading is pretty comf.
Wish it got factorio style update so you could set up a giant factory and mine and get riche

I heard item stacks got raised to 10k.
Why the fuck does everything still stack to 250 for me?

What's the point of any of that in a game about exploration

>Language words 670 out of 700.
>Find word monolith.
>Nothing else to learn.
Some things are still bugged since 1.0

What's that? Can't hear you over your life support warnings. You should try keeping it filled. That's what I do.

>YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IN THIS GAME
>all you do is forage and craft shit
>monsters aren't unique at all
>no multiplayer
>no fucking reason to play the game
>WHAT FUCKING GIVES
>SORRY GUYS LOL CHECK OUT OUR NEW PATCH
>all you do is forage and craft
>monsters aren't unique at all
>multiplayer
>no fucking reason to play the game
>cars and basebuilding
>THEY FIXED IT! HELLO? BASED DEPARTMENT?
no man's sky fags are pathetic

The 30 words are atlas language. It's deprecated now though.

cringe

So what exactly did the update add? Just multiplayer? Alien mounts? I remember the underwater update was just ripping off subnautica base building and vehicles.

The real crime is that they make you do the base building shit before you are allowed to leave

>ripping off subnautica building
It's not like modular base building is ground breaking or wasn't already in the game before anyway.

Now it's Subnautica but with 0 risk factor.

I share the same complaint as OP as theres not much going on around you, but not always, the stuff you can find in this games wild and makes it fun exploring, like you can find a planet thats just covered in bubbles, or a synth planet, or a planet with "blood cell" formations, its honestly a weird and fun experiance, you can find planets orbiting quasars (I Dont think thats really possible, but the one planet I saw was following something that had two tails that spun around the planet), the planets are pretty one note though, exploring planets isnt as fun as exploring the galaxy is what I mean, but you have to find your own fun and if you are not having fun than play something else

But is it worth 20 burgerbucks right now? Really thinking here if I should bite and have something to fuck around with for a while until MH Iceborne

>Scam people with outright lies and release a game that's outright broken for a lot of people on launch
>Slowly fix some of the issues
>Advertise the amazing launch of multiplayer wow incredible right!
>Except you guys on GoG, you don't get it because it uses steamworks, we'll just keep quiet about that though
>GoG outright refunds people out of pocket because they fucking lied to people AGAIN

I've played before this update (since they ravaged my fps now) and it's a good game to chill
I like finding ice planets and wandering through trees
I also found an ice planet and the ocean was filled with semi flotating circular islands
you find sometimes planets with weird stuff like this

there is no challenge, just discovering planets, bulding bases and chilling alone or with friends

its comfy exploration basebuilding game.
Stay the fuck away from harder gamemodes its artificial difficulty and tedium and overall just bullshit everywhere.

The game has gone away from exploration and is becoming like space minecraft, which to be fair is the best route they could take. Proc gen will never work anyway. Everything will always look the same unless all HG's effort went to improving and creating assets for it but at a cost of neglecting other aspects of the game. People will just bitch even more if they focused on exploration since it would've probably led to significantly less things to do

Sounds kino..

Fucking thank you. It's so annoying.

That's weird, maybe it's some kind of glitch. Have you tried verifying files? Assuming you're on PC.

It's rough. In the settings you can change it from tethered to untethered. I don't remember which is which, but one makes it so your ships crosshair is where your mouse is. The other makes it so your ship follows your mouse.

It's perfectly playable in PSVR. Alternatively you can pay up 3 to 4 times as much and play on PC with slightly sharper graphics.

Attached: No Man's Sky on PSVR.webm (1280x720, 2.93M)

thanks a lot for your help.
Downloaded game after update and its patched a few times still low stacks. Could be that I started on ironman then gave up after it gave me shitty plaets and went to survival and now it keeps giving me the same shitty planets and space pirates on my ass every time I go off planet.
Propably a bug.

you always start the game on a shitty planet like that retard

then its shitty fucking game design, irrtating and annoying to run around looking for 2 fucking plants just so you can make a journey of 30 steps away
overall the tutorial sequence is fucking retarded.

CASUAL

>being irritated by deliberately irritating game design for no other purpose than irritation is casual
lmao go play unmodded misery shitbird

Melee boosting with fully upgraded jetpack is the best shit ever

>mfw I don't even have a right hand in VR mode
Is NMS's compatability with the Rift S fucky or something? It still registers when I do things with that hand but there's just a stump where the hand should be.

That particular model is bugged, happened to me too. Go to a space station and change your gloves to anything else.

I just built my first portal, I feel like I'm not able to actually change my gloves yet.

You'll get there eventually, don't sweat it.
