Honestly fuck removing classes, what ought to be removed is matchmaking.
Even the team doesn't think it's a good idea but are afraid to remove it. Every fucking interview they talk about how terrified they are of pushing the community into any direction, and look at how "Balancing for competitive" went, bloody nuked all the community servers, made nearly every weapon in the game objectively worse, and straight up ruined the ability to play as certain classes (Spawn Team Wallhacks impact on playing spy)

Demoman. He's the only class they had to give an entirely new role to because he was too situational, and his new role was annoying as fuck.

Probably the worst thing too is that all the changes are server side and can't really be reversed easily for community servers that might want to balance things differently.
Once it's gone, it's gone, even playing offline by yourself.

There's no way to make changes for yourself and any of your own games you might host, you're just forced to eat it. It's 2019 and there's still no comprehensive local solution for bringing the P2W items into offline games. You'd have to make them all from scratch or do some extensive reverse engineering.

Additionally, when this comic was made the Dangeresque Too wasn't equippable with the Dapper Topper.

So what exactly does Sniper offer to the game? Aside from Spies and the occasional scout Snipers basically only interact with other Snipers and Pyro's who bop them with flares. They don't really have any unique aspects other than the fact the only counter-play to a high level one is to just not be visible or hope they are countersniped.

I never really feel like I was outplayed by getting shot in the head from halfway across the map by a corner humper. I take no joy in killing them or being killed by them. Its just tiresome.

Engineer, I like playing him in guerilla ways but his necessity for teleports on offense and turtle-esque use of his sentry on defense makes him really fucking boring at times. Being all set up is the worst because there's nothing to fucking do except spycheck and be ready for the inevitable demo+medic. It's like guard duty, every other class can at least be active before being on their merry way, even the pyro. Engineer ends up being a slow scout that's somewhat tethered to the general area of their buildings, and if nothing's happening then it's fucking horrible and boring, like real guard duty. Fuck I hate guard duty.

Let third parties manage their own leagues so that people that do want it can partake without it tainting the entire ecosystem. Even better if they actually go the extra mile and allow people to balance their own servers. Revamp the item system and introduce a framework for mutators and attributes that can be toggled and adjusted.

I'd say GMod was the biggest cause of that, as well as how the community naturally gravitated towards slapstick comedy for most TF2-related material. Hale may have started as a simple joke that spiraled into its own thing but you could also argue the same for several of the classes like Soldier or Demo

Essentially every class including medic has to AIM so sniper brings nothing new to the table, the only difference is that when the sniper player aims he can completely one-shot any other player.

This, sniper isn't a fun engagement, it's just fun policing to punish people for not using cover. It doesn't add value, it's just the jannie of the map. Boring, nothing of value lost by removing it to allow to other classes to have more fun.
