Is JoJo good?
Is JoJo good?
Yes
Phantom Blood starts very slow but it accelerates pretty quick at a good pace
Battle Tendency is just so awesome
Stardust Crusaders is my favorite: a road trip movie that concludes what Phantom Blood started
Diamond is Unbreakable is so kino
Vento Aureo is flashy as fuck
Stone Ocean makes you sad
Steel Ball Run is objectively the best JoJo's Bizarre Adventure part ever written
I honestly have no fucking clue about JoJolion, it's all over the place
Yeah man, you'll love JoJo
Fuck yeah. Compared to other anime out it's in a league of it's own
This is vidya
Hey buddy I think you got the wrong board, anime club's two boards down.
You're not my mom
Yeah, anime adaptation of Part 4 is bad though, read the manga for it, and then do the opposite for part 5.
Or do whatever you want I don't care
JoJo, Castlevania and Touhou are the holy trinity of ""my fucking based nigga"
Which JoJo? Name a game. This is Yea Forums, after all.
*ahem*
Excuse me, did you just say
Mom?
the correct answer is fuck you
Only the first three seasons.
There you go
I can be
Yeah dood Jojo is a good series
What about this one?
I will never nit be angry Johnathan doesn't kill DIO in the end
I've always liked it but the anime has brought it way too many newfags.
steel ball run is the best manga ever written so yeah
yes. reading stone ocean now. my favorite so far is part 4. the panels are a bit fucked up and hard to read or tell whats going on. the anime is fantastic and does the series more than justice
Objectively best Jojo game
Part 1&2 set a precedent the series doesn't seem to follow after that.
Same bro same
How so?
>honestly have no fucking clue about JoJolion
it's fucking BASED that's what it is
Yes. watch 6 episodes, if you don't like it at all it's not for you; the main gimmick (Stands) start at part 3 ( Jotaro is the MC). By part 4 the author knows better how to play it, so if you don't love it at the end of part 4 just drop it. I'd say watch only part 1 and 2 (Jonathan and Joseph) and read the rest, because the art is one of there has ever been in manga history.
Oh look, another generic anime arena fighter. Seriously, why is literally EVERY anime fighting game an arena fighter!? Fucking sick soundtrack though.
This guy knows where it's at.
wrong board but yes it is
Watch part 3 first and then part 1 and 2
Yes. I think the reason it's loved so much is because of how unique it is in comparison to its contemporaries. Parts 1 and 2 have sunlight karate, but Part 3 onward introduces a fighting system that's very unique and hasn't been replicated elsewhere. It's also very weird.
Part 4 is my favorite part.
Why is this the only series I can't get into the manga?
haven't played any Jojo vidya
Anime, yes. Every part is different from the last, and each episode is interesting as fuck. It's not always perfect but it's never boring
>watching
>skipping parts
PLEASE FRENCH BREAD MAKE A JOJO FIGHTER
The art is wack sometimes and the presentation in the show is fantastic, with the sound effects and music.
Just read the damn thing user, maybe dodge the fucking colored versions in favor of more recent black and white scans and try again.
One of my favorite manga right next to Dungeon Meshi, so I'd say it's really fucking good, the games range to pretty good to mediocre. Heritage to the Future is basically part 3 the fighting game, but a lot of the mechanics and characters are pretty unique and fun, plus it has an active community. All Star Battle is a fun but flawed game that really deserved a sequel to work out some of its flaws worth a play if you have someone to play it with. Eyes of Heaven is your standard we barely tried Bandai Namco "Fighter" it's really only worth it for some character interactions
I've never played Persona but doesn't that series basically have stands?
I hope we get at least one more good JoJo game eventually.
Are there any good ones out there? The 2D fighter seems decent.
Yes, but Persona's don't really specialize all that much and the battles are just standard stuff.
Part 3 is the best one. Not memeing. You know that I’m absolutely right and your contrarianism is faggot shit.
When's the 7SU update?
It's not skipping parts, it's just a different watching order.
I made three of my latest friends watch it in that order and not only they didn't instantly want to drop out of it because of mid Phantom Blood but also made both it and Battle Tendency way more interesting by being turned into prequels.
I don't like Arena Fighters, but I'm curious is All Star Battle any good? Kinda reminded me of Street Fighter EX with the turning system from what I saw.
Part 5 did everything Part 3 did but better. The Stands in 5 were a lot more interesting and unique than 3.
Funny way to say Steel Ball Run, but part 3 is a really fun roadtrip even if I find a lot of the fights on the more meh side until Egypt. Best crew by far though
Stands are unique because they do more than just fight.
They can
>take photographs of something you can imagine
>improve the taste of food
>change your face
>soften any material
>shrink stuff
>spin stuff quickly
>etc.
They have a lot of utility outside of just combat, and the fights end up being very unique because of the ways they're used outside of just punching the other person. Each fight is like a game of chess where the limits of autism and what can be achieved with the ability are pushed.
Watch the White Album fight for an example of this at its peak.
The most recent one has Japan stuff implemented mega.nz
I can't into Jojo. The animation is too weird and the characters faces are creepy looking
I like it. But going from Hamon to Stands was pretty dumb, and supposedly Stands go from "stand nearby/guardians" into some stupid shit. So... who knows.
I like 3 more than 5 because 3 had a better cast and a lot of humor. It felt like a wacky adventure with lovable characters and good vibes. 7 feels like what 5 should have been.
Yeah no, I'm sucker for final boss fights and part 5 finale was arrow race unlike Dio's World 1~18
Then godspeed to you. You tried.
Have you never considered reading it?
The best final fights are 6 and 7
6 is terrifying and insane
7's is extremely emotional and also insanely long
Not him but has it been translated? Or are we still waiting for the Chaos Mode update translation?
Yes, but only if you watch it for comedy and spectacle. People who think it's good for strategic battles are literal retards. You're supposed to just laugh at how silly the stuff Araki comes up with is, or get excited for cool punchghosts.
They turned from spirit guardians to manifestation of your true self which makes them a 'personalities into super powers' thing, when it works it works and everything fits spectacularly
I wish they would just make a proper sequel to All Star Battle already, shit like Eyes of Heaven weren't nearly as fun, hell I'd even accept an updated re-release
G-go on.
If you cant watch the anime try the manga, its honestly a really nice looking manga. As for the faces it's just the way Araki draws the faces become less pronounced after part 3
Not disagreeing with that but the stretch between Polnareff trying to climb stairs to Star Platinum knee punch is absolutely fucking great. They are equivalent or at most each has their strengths and weaknesses.
It changes from a system based around "Hamon", a martial art that harnesses the sun to do weird shit, which then at part 3 becomes "Stands", physical manifestations of a person's personality with unique abilities to match. I personally like the stand system better since it opens up a whole new world of asspull.
DavidPro pulled out all the stops for Vento Aureo, they might as well just save their budget and outsource every part of Stone Ocean that doesn't have Pucci in it to Korean companies so they can then pull off another magnum opus for the kino that is Steel Ball Run.
Does Jonathan even fucking talk to DIO Over Heaven? I know that you might say "Well DIO killed Jonathan? Why would he care?", but he also killed Jotaro in whatever timeline he came from, so he should give less a shit about him.
I'll try this.
why hasn't there been any jojo romance spinoff?
It is objectively the best media that currently exists, and probably will ever exist. It has an incredibly unique sense of style, and style of writing, which is what attracts so many people to it.
The first part, Phantom Blood, does have a slow start, but depending on who you are that might not hinder your enjoyment at all. The anime adaptation of JoJo is one of the most faithful anime adaptations in history, and actually improves over the original in many ways.
Hirohiko Araki, the author, vastly improves his drawing, writing, and creativity with every part, the series only gets better as you go on.
The only thing that rivals JoJo in quality is Berserk's manga, which Part 7 surpasses.
Picrel is one of many reasons why people love JoJo.
it's partially done
chaosanontranslate.tumblr.com
The user translating dropped that update since they got through all the Japan stuff. They're still working on everything else. This update has the school clubs added, and some of the Chaos Mode events, like the ones with your family.
>DavidPro pulled out all the stops for Vento Aureo
No they fucking didn't. Look at the show they're airing now. It's infinitely better animated and directed than the JoJo anime was. They put almost no effort into JoJo comparatively.
No I haven't
Pacing mostly. 1&2 seem to be done with no intention of filler. Confrontations are often pointedly progressive for character development while in part 3 it's more of a monster of the week thing.
I'm still going through part 3. It's not bad, but 1&2 set me up for something much different.
Well I still need to beat the game the first time around so I'll wait until they finish.
>reddit: the anime
Either way, it's kinda dumb how the writer/artist basically jettison'd Hamon out of the airlock. There's a ton of information to mine there: Lisa Lisa's backstory (beyond being Joseph's mom and a survivor of the Jonathan era/Dio attack), in regards to becoming a Hamon master. The history of Hamon, etc.
Also I'm only on Part 3 right now, but Dio seemingly somehow getting the power of Stands isn't explained in the 55 chapters of like 152 of the Manga so far. Which seems REALLY weird when he was made into a vampire by a stone mask that Jonathan and Joseph both had to fight against.
The manga is gay poses: the Manga. If Araki didn't have a wife (which is probably his beard, desu) everyone would think he's gay with how the poses are angled.
it's the same magic bullshit from before, but with a different name and a colorful nigga posing behind you
This. People who take it serious and straight are dumb
They actually answer how dio got his stand in a later part.
P7 is great, but it does not surpass Berserk in either writing or art.
They explain how Dio got his stand in Part 4.
most parts are very different from what came before, specially 7 and 8
>but Dio seemingly somehow getting the power of Stands isn't explained
Magic space virus. Araki is a very intelligent writer.
I'm quite aware that Part 7's art is absolutely NOTHING compared to Berserk's, but all of Part 7's qualities combined are what make it surpass Berserk in my opinion.
That's how Araki writes user, he writes stuff off because it no longer matters and they in fact no longer do.
Also moving from Hamon is simple, he thought of a cooler way to showcase characters and their growth while escaping from being called "le fist of the north star copy".
Ur reddit
youtube.com
Look at this shit, its wild.
idk
ask reddit
What qualities?
Johnny, Valentine, and Gyro are all godlike characters, but Guts and Griffith are still better written.
JoJo's fights are certainly different than Berserk, but that's neither here nor there.
On a pure story / writing level, Berserk is better. Considering we're getting a new chapter this month that's confirmed to be focusing on Casca, we're gonna get some more of that spicy character writing Miura is the GOAT at.
Anyone that can't sit through 9 fucking episodes don't deserve JoJo. Personally I love all three parts, sure Phantom Blood is the weakest but that's like calling a great game shit just because it's the worst in its series.
Good to know, annoying that it won't be in this part though.
I do like seeing Joseph and Jotaro being together in Part 3, though. Part 1 having Jonathan die was kinda disappointing since Part 3 is doing what I wanted Part 2 to do: Have father and son team up for the battle against Dio.
I will say that Joseph is probably my favorite JoJo so far, though. Cocky as a kid, and then the camel scene in part 3 just makes him extremely likable. Jotaro so far hasn't been featured beyond "be a stoic dude that doesn't say much and somehow deus ex's the Stand of the Week/chapter."
It's great but man after Stardust Crusaders I have a hard time getting through Diamon is Unbreakable. There's just so many fucking episodes.
Pls link me good b&w SBR scans
What the fuck is this question? jojo is based as fuck
>my favorite Stand in the series
>Oh! Lonesome Me
>cool enough to be the protagonist's Stand
>it's used maybe three times in total
>the user dies unceremoniously in the first third of the arc
I'm still sad.
Stardust is 48 episodes, but Diamond is only 39. Why are you complaining about the Diamond anime when the Stardust anime is longer?
I mean that'd be fine, but there's barely a mention of Hamon in part-3 and it's REALLY weird that Joseph wouldn't attempt (so far) to use it against Stands. It's just:
>Oh, you know that magic power we had for two arcs?
>Uh... just ignore that. lol. We're doing magic ghosts now!
This. Nothing can compare to my hype seeing jotaro pummel kakoyin for the first time, the fucking dio reveal, and seeing that intro for the first time. Part 3 got my blood rushing.
Hamon is cool, don't get me wrong, but it's entire purpose in Part 1 was to act as the "mystical soul energy that gives you superpowers" that other manga had at the time since Part 1 was a shameless Fist of the North Star knockoff right down to Jonathan's design. It had clearly defined rules that already started getting warped in Part 2 and by the end of Part 2 we saw Kars demonstrate what the absolute peak of hamon looks like.
I don't think Araki would've been able to make the creative, goofy fights that JoJo became known by keeping hamon around for the main characters, unless he just kept changing the rules of it every other minute, in which case there's no point.
Hamonfags don't want to admit that Stands are ultimately what gave JoJo it's unique identity in the world of manga. Battle Tendency is fun and all, but JoJo wouldn't have been nearly as fun if every part after Battle Tendency was just Battle Tendency and Phantom Blood repeated again.
Joseph uses Hamon once or twice, but I think the literal reason is that Joseph just forgot how to use it for the most part. It's also why he's visibly aged, and why Lisa Lisa is so young looking - Hamon keeps you youthful, and Joseph just hasn't been using it after P2.
Rank the parts
Color in the Viz digital Shonen Jump releases isn't that bad, just... really weird. The first two parts use this weird Orange tone for the first like 10 pages of each volume of the saga, but part 3 actually does full-color which is pretty good.
4 = 3 = 7 > the rest in any order
It's fucking top tier. It's also brutal enough not to attract fujos and squeamish normies en masse so even though the fanbase is kinda cancer, it's at least not Rick and Morty or Sonic tier.
4>2>3 >the rest
A new chapter? Thanks user, not gonna bother responding to you, all I needed to hear, bye.
I never said Guts and Griffith didn't have better writing.
What puts SBR higher than Berserk in my personal opinion is how not only does SBR have great writing and art (obviously not compared to Berserk, before you say anything), but it's the sheer creativity of JoJo as well.
You don't have anyone in Berserk being chased around by super sharp balloon animals that track scents, or riding away from swarms of explosive bees. The improved writing, setting, and more consistent artwork paired with the identity and spirit of JoJo is what makes SBR unbeatable by anything in my opinion, whether it's a book, a movie, a game, or a television show.
True, it's more than that I would need to elaborate. Guess I am just burnt out a little.
8>7>6>5>4>3>2>1
>It's also brutal enough not to attract fujos
I wish you were right but you are wrong. it attracts edgy fujos.
>not to attract fujos
Part 5 is Fujobait: The Part.
>ep 1-2 are bizarre
>ep 3 made the series popular
>ep 4 condenses the stand idea
>ep 5 is the same but in italy
>ep 6 is the same but with female lead
>ep 7 is cowboys
>ep 8 is bizarre
Fun fact: For the Part V game Capcom actually reuses Polnareff's theme.
Gives it a flashy remix and everything.

What I'm getting at is: I mean so far Joseph hasn't even attempted it and Araki didn't really give a reason for forgetting it. He could have Joseph use it in a fight against Stands and be like "Shit, this doesn't work on anything beyond Vampires!" in a flashback or something, and it would've been like "ok, so that power is useless beyond vampires in the first two parts. Ok, makes sense!" Instead it's like "uh? What happened to the previous power?"
Would make sense, but again: It's really weird how Araki just goes
>Remember Hamon?
>M.I.B. lightbulb flash
>You don't now!
>not to attract fujos
This might be the stupidest thing said in a JoJo thread, and that's really saying something.
That's why I said en masse. It's too wishful to get 0 fujos when the art style is based on fashion mags.
At the least, it could have been a lot worse.
Yes.
7 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 5 > 3 = 4 > 2 > 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sword art online >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6

Why do all the characters pose gay
