Late night 3x3 thread (good taste only

>I've been saving Thief 2 for a rainy day because everything I've read about it sounds like it fixes my problems with TDA.
Thief II is a lot more focused on actual thievery and less on the grave/tomb robbing of the first game. As a result, it has less variety and worse overall atmosphere, but I think it's a more consistent game than its predecessor and some of the levels in it are among my favorite in any game ever (Life of the Party, in particular). The only real problems I have with it is that they use one mission back to back instead of combining it into one mission and the final mission is absurdly long. If you liked the first one, then you should definitely try out the second one.

How comparable is Hitman 2 to Blood Money? I've wanted to play it but the PC version doesn't work on W10 natively so I haven't put the work in to get it working yet.

Blood money is objectively a better game, but I like the atmosphere and the music a lot more in silent assassin

I did not like the supernatural stuff in the first game all that much. T2 not having as much of that sounds great to me.

There's only one mission comparable to the supernatural stuff in the first one and it's actually pretty good. The reset are more akin to Lord Bafford's Manor and The Sword.

Magical academy setting with free time in between missions. 12 characters with different playstyles and weapons to level and swap between on the fly, with an overall party of 3 on missions. The combat is either gonna make or break it for you. It's highly counter based, all about attacking just the precise moment to instantly kill, love that shit personally. HD release looks like shit, this was a portable game first. Square are fucking retards releasing this game on consoles.

Regarding Killzone. Not him but I'll try.

It's a very unusual - and pretty - game that reboots its series in everything other than lore consistency, and serves as a spiritual predecessor to Horizon by the same studios (although with like 4 times less filler). In terms of external comparisons it could, I guess, be described as a mix between Halo:Reach and Battlefield3's singleplayer campaign's direction (or maybe Mann's movies if you like). Maybe with a hint of original Mirror's Edge as well. It could also, I guess, be described as non-leftie version of Wolfenstein: New Order. And maybe even a bit of original Homefront in tetms of characters and their interactions.
As aforementioned ME did it goes for sort of "fantastic hyper-realism", but applies it very differently, going for quite relatable more or less commonsensical characters, as well as a surprisingly believable depiction of frozen conflict (its release was before the start of Donbass conflict, but in terms of depicted media coverage it is pretty much spot on). There are audiologs, a badass comic with pages scattered across the game (pretty much a grimdatk version of Gone with the Blastwave), various news articles and dossiers. And here is a caveat and the main reason this game is both unusual and infamous. The storyline will make No Goddamn Sense UNLESS you hunt down story collectibles like a goddamn maniac with a magnifying glass. It being structured that way DOES make sense in the context of the game, but it appears not a lot of people caught on it.

Anyway, the game has a very cool, consistent, hard-edged tone to it, but it does require you to invest, to pay attention, to think for yourself based on what you see and experience. I am frankly amazed such a game was released in, what?, 2013, and as an AAA system seller, no less.

Anyway, long story short, it's where Horizon started.
