The story is great until you get to the last boss, then it shits the bed with spoonfeeding you everything in the most heavy handed way imaginable. Really wish that the star wasn't a thing and the game ended after The Beat.

They had actual inspirations for the game, an idea for execution, the ability to put their ideas into work, and the restraint to not pile on useless features. Furi is a great idea of simplicity done effectively with clear love and effort put into basically every aspect of the game. Music, art, gameplay, even something like the difficulty settings were the best I've seen for a game in awhile.

Maybe they are passionate people who were stuck making phone games for years to make ends meet and when they finally got to make their dream game they went all out.
Also Furi is not complex at all, furier mode is old school hard but mechanically it's quite simple.

The Star made me unreasonably angry, not through difficulty but just because turning it into a bullet hell was fucking ass-backwards retarded.
The game would be a personal 10/10 if the Star were a traditional style boss or just non-existant.

Everything in this game was great except for The Burst. What a fucking bullshit, unfun, unfair fucking dumbass fight. incredibly poorly designed fight. It's very poorly explained, the screen tearing is horribly bad, the invisibility sections are pretty much impossible without sound (I play mute and listen to music/podcasts), and the final segment is incredibly awkward and tedious.

Yeah the Edge is fun, but once you get good, he is a complete pushover even on Furier and you can just interrupt everything he does and easily kill him in under a minute with no issues.

But where is the gameplay? Gameplay was the strongest point of Furi, not the story lmfao

This, if they just had him stay with The Song from the beginning like in the secret ending I doubt he would've tried to escape, but again he's an alien android designed to kill and conquer, it's not until that point in the game where he begins to develop free will and individuality

I didn't get all the endings, but the way the game sets it up based on character dialog is that the Rider is some sort of powerful world-ending entity. Chain makes you think you're normal, but it turns out he's lying and that your inability to die is your own. Straper implies that whatever you are, you might not be alone in terms of being a world ending entity. Line implies you "stopped the clocks" when you showed up. Fish bowl head implies you destroyed his world.

I don't know, by the time you make it to the angel bitch it's like you're fighting "deities" of whatever world and in the end credits it makes sense, your presence naturally destroys things.

But then you find the robot suit, go to space and you're some kind of alien with an army of clones just like you and the planet for whatever reason decided to lock you up in a floating space station thing? Fuck the rabbit guy doesn't even make sense.

The Star is undoubtedly one of the hardest fights on furier, I managed to beat hear with only 4 hits taken in 6 minutes, but the whole fight is such a drag that I don't wanna do it anymore. on the other hand the Burst is so enjoyable for me that I recently did the boss with 0 hit and even recorded it because I was this proud of myself
