Novigrad.... home.
Novigrad.... home
At least it was before I fucked everything up.
How the fuck did we get exactly 1 vidya city this generation that actually felt like a city? It's not just big, there's environmental shit everywhere that answers so many questions about the world.
Kaer Morhen... home
Cheap labor
At least it was until those salamandra dickheads, and later the wild hunt, fucked it up.
it was really impressive and cool until you realized you can only enter like 4 buildings in the whole city and npcs are mostly static. It's really not much more interactable than any city in an assassin's creed game
Lol
This so much. To this day i dont realize why everyone creams their panties over w3. Its like a singleplayer mmo, yeah cutscenes plot characters etc are good but inbetween every good snip there are 20 minutes of running around in the forest, doing samey errands. Novigrad looks cool but not cooler than some of the better AC cities. Its not even in the same ballpark as say g2, let alone older crpgs. In this generation we had kingdom come, which was relatively tiny but so detailed it doesnt matter, those 3 biggest cities were awesome.
as much as people meme on elder scrolls games for their tiny cities I personally prefer those to a big nothing like novigrad. Kingdom come is a good example of fairly large cities with seamless interiors, too bad it runs like total shit. Hell just going back to the first witcher every building in vizima outskirts could be entered and a good number of the buildings in the city had interiors
All wrapping no present.
Wide as a retention pond, deep as a lagoon
Goddamn, going back there in The Witcher 3 felt so comfy; exploring the places where shit went down in Witcher 1 and having Geralt comment on it felt amazing.
RIP Leo
It will be a shame if something happened to your comfyness.
>boring quests that makes leveling in WoW look like a masterpiece
>runs like total shit
eh, its' more that it really is just a demanding game. cant wait to have a rig that can run it at 60fps 1440p
No, it runs like total shit. Any game can be optimized.
I guarantee there are 15 or more buildings you can enter in Novigrad. NPCs yeah are mostly static though aside from quest stuff
fuck this fucker
well it has a huge cpu load that causes a lot of stuttering issues regardless of the settings. I have a 4690k oc'd to 4.5 and cannot get a smooth 60 with any configuration. I would definitely consider that to run like total shit, especially since the game has a damn console port
sorry zoomzooms there's only one home and it's called vizima
Only if you can outsmart him.
All sizzle no steak.
Just gonna list off as many as I can right now since it'll still be more than you said
>triss' house
>triss' second house
>children's school house
>bath house
>whore house 1
>whore house 2
>Rosemary & Thyme
>bar where Priscilla sings
>bar at the docks
>the old warehouse that you bail the gwent chick out at
>underground tunnels if those count
>twins house
>barber shop 1
>barber shop 2
>building behind the theater
>"haunted" house with the godling or whatever it was
>trader building, next to the barber shop that's up in the nice area with the nice whore house
that's 17 right there and I can still think of more random buildings that I remember from using the free cam that I can't specifically name so don't want to point out
I just wanted an ending with Shani. Triss and Yennifer are such cunts while she was real
You also have the bigass warehouse where you fight the vampire, the apartments where you find the card seller dead, the other apartments with the chest that takes three keys to open, the house a chick says is haunted but is actually full of witch hunters lying in wait and I think every house in the nonhuman village outskirts can be entered.
Also nobody fucking explores the back of Novigrad with the temple and the cave where the Cat armor is because there isn't any quest by there
alright so that's 5 more at the very least, there's also the bookshop which I just remembered so that's 6.
23
>dock warehouses and vamp fight
>whoreson's house
>the pits
>the king of beggars' place
>the warehouse you clean out of rats
>the succubus place
Too lazy to think of more but I'm sure there are.
Whoreson's house is in Oxenfurt.
so you've got 4 more here
27
I explored that area, sometimes it's just fun to explore for exploration's sake. There's an ability point up there and the eternal fire temple with the ever burning fire is sweet
Some I can think of which hasn't been mentioned yet
>gambling den at the back of the city
>elf sword makers house
I think we ca all agree that didn't actually play the game.
Oh yeah, the granary you and triss de-ratify, the artist's house, the blacksmith's house/shop, the warehouse where you steal materials for said blacksmith, and the shop, 2 houses, and club in the putrid grove where the king of beggars is. And while I'm thinking about it, you've got whoreson's casino, his underground arena, and his nice house. Oh yeah, the witch hunters quarters you burn down, the prison cells you break Priscilla out of, and more, etc.
I was being hyperbolic to make a point but even still a majority of those locations can only be entered once in specific missions. There are very few places to enter while walking around and exploring the city. I realize it seems like I'm moving the goalposts a bit here but I should have been more specific in my original shitpost
What always bugged me at the wedding was that Gaunter literally tells you to go have fun (with Shani) while it was well established that he is not only some devil (or literally the devil) but that he has vision over almost everything. Not to mention that Geralt has his mark and is under his gaze all the time now. So I can't just go and fuck Shani under those circumstances when I know for sure that the fucking devil is watching what I'm doing 100%. The asshole is probably waiting for that first seat POV. GO ON GERALT DO IT. I've done that scene only for completionism but goddamn if CDRED didn't fuck that entire setup.
Oh, the dwarf's house you visit with zoltan during his quest, as well.
>a majority of those locations can only be entered once in specific missions.
blatantly untrue
It's not he has a place in Novigrad. The Oxenfurt stuff was just a hideout.
Ah, weird I can't even remember that place. Maybe it's finally time I replay the game
Meanwhile in Whiterun...
What do they eat?
Well there's tons of fishing nets all along the dock and right outside the city to the south is a pretty large forest where they could hunt deer. There's also tons of farms surrounding the city with tons of various crops.
What is their tax policy?
imagine being a bethesdrone
They make that pretty clear. Murdering mages, herbalists, healers, nonhumans, etc and claiming or auctioning off their belongings.
name 1 vidya city that gives what you're looking for
also the eternal fire probably generates tons of funds through religion donations
This is pretty standard contrarian shit. Watch, he's going to say "Khorinis."
To be fair, it's a 2011 game. To be unfair (or am I) all beth games suck after morrowind.
All foreplay no fuck.
well can you walk into your local city and enter any house you want?
