AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THE SOUL
Last one.
Son of a bitch it's all gold.
These images are great. I love how MK8 looks, but I wonder what next gen Mario Karts would have looked like if they more closely followed the styles of these renders.
B-bros, I can't take the soul. I don't think I'm gonna make it...
Good thread.
>2019
>video games still don't look this good
theres indie games that try to replicate this but imagine actual nintendo games looking like this. i dont think they have a reason to try, sadly.
except for five nights at freddy's, the best looking game of all time
Jesus look at the texture on the minecart
It looks 100% real
So much fucking soul
WOW!
Fuck this is a soulfull thread. Thanks guys :)
This image will always be the epitome of soul to me.
haha her cunny must be all spread apart
As soon as I see a Metal Mario this plays in my head.
The Donkey Kong country ones are the best
I tried upping the saturation a bit more, since the image looks so washed out, but I understand if you'd prefer to stay true to the original art.
I hope we get a video game that can keep the SOUL of these renders one day
why did mk8 ruin toads turnpike? where's the soul?
N64 Turnpike
>that gorgeous red/blue sunset gradient
>felt just the right amount of desolate, perfectly captured the feeling of driving on a highway at night with nothing around but other cars
>a daring challenge of skills where you either weave around oncoming traffic or eat the other racers' dust
>majestic piano + string combination for the lead melody, almost sounds magical
MK8 Turnpike:
>generic blue night sky, no artistic use of color
>claustrophobic, dirty grassy hills surrounding the road, a city can be seen nearby in the background, doesn't have that same lonely wistful feeling
>if you can't deal with the cars like some kind of casual, there's a wall to drive on, flatbed to launch off of, or glider ramp to fly from nearly every 5 seconds
>obnoxious buzzing synth instrument for the lead melody just reminds you of everything that sucks about the city
