>comfy riverside manor with your own egg mine
>near-monopoly on ebony industry
>everyone's favorite city (there's a reason every custom house mod ends up there), don't have to live in ash-choked bug carcasses that get harassed by cliff racers or claustrophobic mushrooms on islands too far from anything useful
>playing both sides of every possible conflict for maximum profit
>get to take control of the camonna tong
and most of all
>get to have Based Uncle Crassius as your sponsor
How the fuck can other houses possibly even compete?
How old were you guys when you got over the Rick & Morty 'amoral wizard' meme of Telvanni and settled on the best Great House?

House Hlaalu /for the fucking WIN.
Those villas in the middle of the meadow, like Dren plantation, is my real-life dream right now. Going to get something cozy just like that.

Kill yourselves Hlaalu faggots. Your house is shit.

Shit I actually forgot about that. Just checked. They're the Redguard and Altmer slaves you can buy from the slave market. I wanted them to join my harem of commanded service/travel NPCs and others in my house but they never stop following you normally which gets annoying, so I brought them to the roof of the building next door and jumped off to make them stay there.
The other two with armor are just quest followers or something that I dropped off in the same way.

I just got Morrowind Rebirth for the first time, I went in pretty blind but have mostly been pretty pleased with the city updates. Went with a Battle-Mage build but am a bit annoyed at how slow my Alchemy/Enchanting are raising.

Any suggestions for someone new to Rebirth?

>inb4 delete it

That's clever, I've always tried to do something similar to animals. (I liked to collect the rare ones, like the white guar, or the ice wolfs) but never found a way to properly "store" them.

>MISS MISS MISS
Ahh, *sips*.

Comfy.

> waaaaaaaa I want to be good at everything from the start.

It looks fucking dumb when your weapon clearly connects but you weapon skill says you missed.

You literally cannot provide a reasonable explanation for an action RPG telling you you missed when your weapon looks like it hit.

whom'st are you quoting?

Came here to say this

By not being Imperial cocksuckers and getting absolutely blown the fuck out by Redoran when Morrowind came to the brink of total destruction.

There isn't one. It's an old as fuck game with old mechanics. I like Morrowind but the combat is lacking. Much better to have the attacks connect but scrap off armor, or have intelligent foes deflect them instead, needing a focus on power attacks unless the enemy is stunned and reeling from a blow, etc. Not a big deal, game isn't unplayable because of it, it's just not great.

Nobody believes that the combat system is "good" just serviceable. The problem is people who believe it is shitty or broken, it's just old and takes some getting used to.

Don't buy the homes. They are outrageously expensive and you can easily break into them for free.

What was his problem?
Killing him and looting his ring is how I consider Morrowind beaten. Any playthrough that has yet to do so is unfinished.

Build a character with at least 40 points on your main weapon and check the stamina, dumbshit.

It's shitty but that doesn't make the game bad, it has other good qualities.

You are correct. I wasn't disagreeing with that concept, just that the other poster who believed in some strawman that Morrowind is perfect and has no flaws. It obviously does, but you can still enjoy the game. Especially if you have nostalgia.

The combat is based on your skill and your stamina.
If you never picked a spear before in your life, you will miss.
If you are tired, you are more likely to miss.

Appreciate the tip. I'm only level 2 and training is expensive as hell in Rebirth so I don't see myself having money to throw around anytime soon.

To be clear I actually like that. I feel like finding safe early fights is a challenge though - a couple of my normal early crypts I visited were way tougher and I had to run away with my tail between my legs.

Difficulty being completely reliant on a dice roll that is contradictory to the visual representation of landing an attack is objectively a bad design choice senpai. Get over it and move on.
